So when I started my job across the street a few months ago, my co worker raved about this place. I am not generally a huge health nut and definitely not a salad person so I was skeptical. After about 2 months of me eating at every where else on the street, and her consistently eating here, she let me try some of her salad one day.(I believe it was the ‘Be Well’) It was really good but I commented on how I wish I could get the quinoa with certain ingredients and the dressing without all the greens. Well literally a few days later she comes back to the office and says«MIXTGREENSHASGRAINBOWLSNOW» so of course I felt obligated to try… bad mistake… because now I am addicted It started with the Sombrero Bowl which was mexican chorizo, black beans, cherry tomatoes, cabbage, pumpkin seeds, sharp cheddar, fresh cilantro, scallions, cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. It was perfection– SOO good! I ate it so much my co workers now call me the Quinoa Queen… well after the new year I decided to try and be more low carb, so my new go to is the Orchard salad, which is greens, grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, seasonal apple, sharp cheddar, avocado, toasted almonds, savory herbs, balsamic vinaigrette – I don’t get the apple, and I sub for the cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. All of the Salad artistes here vary on how they make their salads, so if you go as often as I do you’ll learn each one’s style– because they can be really different on how much dressing they consider«medium» or the order of ingredients they use makes a difference too.(I swear I’m really not picky, but honestly it makes a difference) My personal fave is Julio! He’s so nice and consistently gets my order right, but they’re all really nice! Also if you’re a regular get the«Thanx» App to get a free salad after buying 10!

I have been trying to eat a little healthier lately, so I have promised myself to eat one serving of fruit or vegetable per day. You can’t go wrong with a salad! I really like the make it yourself salad places, so Mixt Green came up on my Unilocal search. This location is in mid-Wilshire, right by the La Brea Tar Pits. I read other reviews that said that parking was awful here and the day that I came they had Framers Market across the street. Bleh. I thankfully found street parking across the street and walked over. The inside is super cute, had an airy feeling to it. I looked at the menu and they had a build it yourself and pre-fixe salad options. The build it yourself seemed a little expensive if you want to add on things. I decided on one of the pre-fixe, the Cobb salad. The guy was super nice and since I didn’t want cheese, he let me pick another ingredient. I got my salad and wandered outside to the outdoor table. My salad was super fresh tasting and I liked the dressing they had on the salad. It was also the perfect amount of food. I think it might be a little on the pricey side, but I think it was worth it for the fresh salad.

I love the variety of choices. You can go with something on the menu or build your own. It’s all done in front of you. It’s a buffet of greens and goodies to add onto your salad. You can get your dressing on the side or tossed and they’ll ask if you like light medium or heavy dressing. They dot charge extra for extra dressing. The orchard salad is a personal favorite. You can never go wrong with that one. Or build your own if you are feeling like something specific. They are a variety of choices for all taste buds! Parking can be a bit annoying and Wilshire is a very busy street so it gets a little hectic. Also annoying– you can’t order by phone, only online; which sucks if you are diving and wanted to just place an order as you go. For those reasons I docked down 2 stars.

It’s like a chipotle restaurant, but for salads. The service is rush rush and it’s a small place. Food seems pretty fresh.

This is good spot for a quick, healthy salad/sandwich. Atmosphere is pretty casual. I suppose the typical customer is your upscale Angeleno, mid 20s to mid 30s, nicely dressed and usually coming from work. Some hip-looking tables and very clean facilities. Perky, young employees. I had an arugula salad with roasted almonds, red onions, shredded parmesan, grilled chicken, and medium lemon vinegrette and that came out to be $ 13.03. Kind of pricy for a salad, but the ingredients were really fresh. Grillied chicken was tender and warm, roasted almonds were smoky, parmesan was pleasant. The portion of salad was also on the larger side, but I personally had no problem gobbling it all up. Overall, a great DIY salad place that I would gladly come to again. Would love to bring other salad lovers to this happenin’ joint.

while their salads are really good, i cant justify the $ 13 price tag on a plate of leaves and grass. Today was especially annoying. I ordered The Bachelor Salad and ask the guy to throw in some onions. He said«it would be a $ 1 more if you want» What!!! No Thanks #mixtgreensucks #overpriced

For what this place is, it is top notch. The vegetables are always fresh, service very professional and helpful. I am a fan of their Cobb salad with Caesar but i have tried several of the suggested salads and each was excellent. large portions Many a day i have run in having ordered online or just pulled from the pre-made cooler. all were great. If you are on the Miracle Mile and want, or crave veggies. this is the spot. grab a salad and go to the tar pits and make a picnic. perfect for these summer days

A good relatively healthy lunch option compared to most of the places in this area. Prices are on the high side but I think they are justified when it’s good. The consistency is frustrating though hence the 3 stars, sometimes the protein is mixed into the salad, other times it’s just dumped on top; greens are fresh one day but dappy and old looking the next; the chicken is sometimes thinly sliced and flavorful but the next time is dry and cubed. The guys working the counters are consistent though — they always act like they wish they were somewhere else. I’ll keep coming here though — when it’s good, it’s very good especially the Orchard with blue cheese dressing.

Gave this place a second and third chance and much better, maybe I hit them up on a bad day the initial first time. My third time I ordered the orchard salad and it was mixed very well and pretty tasty. Kudos to them for reaching out to me to come back and give it another try.

Been here a few times and enjoyed the food here both times. First time I had the Cowboy salad. It was good and was a nice big serving. You can go for the menu toppings and even add more to suit your taste. Another time I got the Rooster sandwich. This I recommend this more than the salads. Besides it comes with a salad on the side. The place is clean. Service is good. Lines move eventually. Only real complaint is the prices. For salad I believe it could be a better deal if they lower the price point a little.

This place is on a downhill slide. portions of «extras» are less and less, running out of things as well. when i questioned this current practice i was told«it’s always been that way» by someone who has definitely NOT been working there as long as i’ve been eating there.(the week it open) its also messy when it did not used to be. meh, meh, meh.

been enjoying the salads for months. 3 to 4 per week. but can someone tell me why i need to be hungry after paying $ 12 on a salad? Portion is consistently shrinking, when I ask for more lettuce(CHEAPEST ingredient they have) i’m told that the team is under pressure to control their portions. How is this ok? I’m paying for a full salad, not a 2⁄3 of a salad. here’s the cheapest salad they have. from today @ $ 9. Can’t even fill it with lettuce. smh

I like this healthy little joint right here! This is the tastiest option if you’re looking to eat healthy. Came with a friend and shared a salad. We got the Park salad with light dressing. Huge portions and so yummy! I love that it came with a couple pieces of wheat toast(complex carbs are always nice compliment to fresh leafy greens). My friend and I were able to share a salad. Prices are worth it for the large portion, esp. compared to the other restaurants in the area. Nice clean, cool environment and friendly staff. The only thing that might be an issue is parking in Mid-Wilshire area of course. There’s a paid lot I think they might validate and street parking. I usually volunteer at an organization nearby that’s walking distance. Thanks for giving us a healthy place to eat, Mixt Greens! :)

This place is probably the healthiest option for food in my work vicinity. It’s my go to place whenever I want to eat something light and healthy for lunch! My favorite item on the menu is their Rooster sandwich. It has apples, cheese, aoli, and pesto! The first time I ordered it I imagined I wouldn’t like it since apple sounds weird to put in a sandwich, but the sandwich all together tasted great! Now it’s my favorite item on their menu! Try this place out if you’d like to opt for a lighter and healthier option. The only minus here is the long lines and wait time during the lunch rush hour. You can also build your own salad if you can’t find anything to your liking! :)

What I got/get: Mixt Cobb Orchard(Seasonal) The good news: I’ve never seen someone create a salad from fresh ingredients so quickly in my life. It’s pretty impressive to be honest! I love how all of the ingredients are visible and you can tell they’re all very fresh, and they do a good job of proportioning them without skimping on things like avocado! The Orchard is definitely my favorite, and it’s not too heavy. You can decide if you want your dressing light, medium, or heavy and you can also sub out and add one ingredient for free. This place is right across from my work, so it’s a good option if you work on Miracle Mile and are craving something healthy! However, I do want to come back and try the sandwiches because they look good too. The bad news: Yes, it’s definitely overpriced for what it is, but to be fair, you get a decent amount of food, and c’mon by the looks of this place you should expect prices in that range($ 10 – 12 for a salad). The lines can get super long, and after you wait in the salad line you have to wait in the cashier line, but again, the line goes by pretty fast due to the employees making the salads at light speed.

I’ve come here twice now. Both occasions I loved the meal. The salads I had was the orchard and the park. Coming right in the door, it is one of those places that is «order here» on one side, and«pay here» on the other. Think big sub sandwich chain, or that one Mexican burrito places. There was a line(good sign), and it moved fairly quickly. You get to the counter and the salad-maker guys and gals get to work. It’s kinda fun watching the action behind the line with greens being tossed, shouts for this ingredient or that bowl, and the like. Or maybe I am just very easily entertained these days. You get your bowl, but then you have to get in to a separate line to wait and then pay. ?? Really I wonder why this is, seems odd. Oh, if you don’t have time to wait, they have pre-packaged salads available. I haven’t tried those yet. So! On to the food. The greens were toothsome and vibrant. The subtle bitterness goes great with the«very light» mustard vinaigrette. Not overdressed at all. The chicken was juicy, warm, and delightful to eat. «The Colonel» should take some chicken cookery lessons from these green-mongers. All of the other accents, cheese, bacon, Brussels sprouts, etc all were well portioned and really take the salad from«the usual grocery store salad bar» and elevate it to something light, but packed with quite a savory flavor punch. I could easily eat two to become really full-i-fied, but one salad does satiate well enough. They are a bit pricey, about the same as the deli salad bar at your favorite«whole» grocery store, but the quality of the food and convenience of getting it so fast is justifiable. They seem to be a lunch place only, catering to the office crowd and hungry, healthy touristy people who manage to dodge the burrito trucks and junk food places. But they do close pretty early. I will return when I am in the neighborhood. I give this place a solid 4 stars!

I’m so glad I discovered this place after they came to a health fair being held on campus. Tried the Cowboy, which surpassed expectations. Thought it was gonna be just your everyday regular salad and I only grabbed one on my way to class because I’d skipped lunch that day, but it turned out to be a happy accident because this is my new go-to salad place. Everything tasted fresh as can be and the flavors all complimented each other perfectly. The roasted red peppers, chipotle honey glazed chicken and blue cheese dressing made a delightful combination of sweet + savory. They also put a lot of red onions, which I normally don’t like but had to admit, contributed well to the juiciness/sweetness of the salad. Next time I’m going to try the siam(vegan option) because the description is mouthwatering: mango, papaya, cucumber and red pepper topped with herbs, spicy peanuts & thai lemongrass vinaigrette. Can’t wait! Plus they have free delivery for your first order if you order through ! :)

As far as salad-centric lunch places go this is pretty solid. I mean, it’s no California Chicken Café but not many places are IMHO. So I usually get the mixt cobb but have tried their Disco(roasted chicken), turkey sandwiches and the vegetarian Be Wello(I’m not vegetarian but sometimes I like to experiment). Their other main thing is that you can build your own salad from like the 100 ingredients they have laid out before them. So, imagine a wall of various lettuce bases(butter, romaine, mixed, etc) behind them and a ton of added proteins in containers before them. You can start mixing and matching from here but it can get kind of pricey after just a few ala carte options. All excellent, all delicious. Just kinda wish it was a little more… Cali Chix Café-ish. Whatevs. I’m just dragging this on until I think of a signature funny line to add but can’t think of any at the moment. Give it a shot and suck it. There.
