Mid-Wilshire Plaza

I read the reviews on Tripadvisior before booking; I should have went somewhere else.
Ok, it wasn’t THAT bad but for the price they’re charging you, you think they would at least update the paint or carpet. First off I had trouble finding the place; I took the metro as it was just a block away but it was BEHIND the metro despite what Google maps told me but I disgress. Second, the front desk tried to peel the sticker off my bank card. I kept telling him that you can’t do that as it’s a bank issued card but I never had a problem. I even offered to pay in cash or if he was really worried, he could charge it and call the bank to verified.
The lobby was small and the elevator goes up but not down; had to take the stairs. The hallways look like a seedy 80’s motel in those campy porn movies with the chicka chicka bow wow music in the background.
I could not turn on the light in my room; WTF? I had to hold the door open to find the lamp. Safety issue much? Anyhoo, the chairs and desk were run down and there was a ugly disgusting fridge underneath the sink. (I didn’t use it). The bathroom was DISGUSTING. The tub was yellow and there cracks above the shower.
Good thing I was only staying for one night and there was a tofu house nearby that I go to whenever I’m in LA.
You’ve been warned, it is what it is but for the price. yeah right.
