Great little spot. Not crowded like Denny’s or IHOP. People are friendly the food taste great and you done have to wait 1hr for seating and 30mins for your food

Just what our neighborhood needs! Great food, amazing service, a place we can call our own. Do try the chicken and waffles… way better than Roscoe’s! … the bakery though… makes your mouth water just looking at it!

I used to live next door to this restaurant… and could never find parking… so I figured the food must be really good… I went in to try the food and decided to try the chicken and waffles. I was hooked and spread the word to my friends the became hooked too!

Warm, clean, and very cozy. Nice wait staff. Food came out for the three of us in a timely fashion. Traditional breakfast fare was good, but definitely order the sweet potato pancakes. They were delicious!

Delicious food. Chicken wings and waffles are good but so is salmon croquettes, so is chicken sausage and that biscuit w/peach cobbler preserves brings it all together.

So I decided to update my review since I went back to this place sooner than anticipated. I ordered the chicken and waffles. When I picked up the food, the waiter actually showed me the food before I paid. Awesome! I was going to check anyway because of the incident with my burnt pancakes last time, but I liked that he showed it to me. Now as far as the taste, I loved the food, especially the chicken. This time I had a good experience. Overall, I really like the food here, but the service can be pretty bad. Maybe it will get better in the future.

Great food overall, but be advised that its a LONG wait to get your food. I called ahead and was told it’ll take about 20 minutes. After 20 mins I walked in to be greeted by a line to the cashier. After waiting in line I was told my order was not ready yet and to have a seat. After 35 mins of playing on my phone I finally received my order. I was so excited that I finally received food I made the mistake of not checking my order. Unfortunately when I checked at home half of my order was missing. I tired calling back but the phone was busy. So yea… about that.

Four stars for the food and one for the service. The waitress was pretty rude and inattentive. However, the food was flavorful and fresh. I would come again if I lived closer and could take my food to go.

I’ve come here so many times, but this morning was the worst!!! We waited an hour for our food. The 2 servers kept overlooking our table. I had to ask 4 times for coffee creamer, I got up and took some from another table after the 3rd request. Nothing was hot. And there was a hair in one of the plates at our table. When I informed the waitress she just said oh that’s a shame. Really??? Not to mention when our order was taken, the lady had the nerve to say that she was gonna need a wheel barrel to wheel us out of here with all those starches we ordered. WTF??? I’m highly offended!!! My last time here. I should have went to Watts Coffe House!!! Bad service

Food was great, service was horrible. Asked for coffee and water three times, even after being asked is everything okay. Still nothing. Watching servers busy doing nothing.

This place is wonderful! The staff is so welcoming and friendly unlike most restaurants in Los Angeles, so it’s definitely a breath of fresh air. The food is to die for, I had to peak in the back to make sure my granny wasn’t in the kitchen. I definitely recommend the chicken sausage(mild) breakfast combo. You’ll never have a breakfast this delicious in LA!

The breakfast is great. I haven’t tried many items on their menu but I promise you can’t go wrong with the Sweet Potato Waffle and Fried Chicken. The Chicken Sausage is also pretty good. Very friendly service. Will be going back!

Great breakfast. I’ve only came a million times for breakfast and order the same thing every single time. I order the pork chop(2 center cut) breakfast that comes with 1 side eggs and toast(I usually get grits or potatoes as my side). This breakfast is super yummy and of course you will not be able to finish it, they give more then enough. In fact I would buy only one breakfast and share it with someone(maybe add a side so you don’t have to share that). The chops are fried to perfection! I haven’t gotten a chance to try anything else here because I always get my chops! Now I must say the peach cobbler doesn’t look appeasing, never tried it but maybe it can be good. Place is very small and limited parking, very friendly service

It’s a really cute and cozy shop specializing in soul food. I went an hour before closing time and it was pretty empty. They do boast a host of desserts ranging from Carrot Cake, to Cheesecake to Apple Cobbler. When we arrive specifically for dessert most of the display had been gobbled by earlier guests. The waitress/cashier let us know that the display was filled that morning and after church ppl came and stormed the restaurant. All that was left was 1 hefty piece of Red Velvet, half a bunt of 7UP cake, some berry cobbler, apple cobbler and a couple of mini tins of sweet potato. We decided to try them all except the sweet potato pie. For about 5 pieces of cake I ended up paying $ 19 and some change… kind of pricey. The 7UP cake, although it didn’t look moist, was very rich and flavorful. Certainly not dry! It was actually pretty darn tasty. The apple cobbler was sweet but lacked the cinnamon spice I like with my apple cobblers. My dad hated the berry cobbler but he’s not a fan of blackberries. The crust was just ok. Red velvet wasn’t bad but wasn’t my bf’s favorite. It was a bit dry and he preferred the 7UP cake. Overall cool little spot if you are look for a quick dessert. They are open til 8pm on Sundays but I would recommend coming early to get a bigger selection. It is a bit pricey.

My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday afternoon and boy, did we wait lol. It was quite a few people but since the food is so great, the wait was worth it. Customer service could definitely use improvement, because once we were seated, my food didn’t arrive for about 25 – 30 minutes. The server gave me my drink immediately and charged me for a refill when I asked for another once my food finally arrived over 25 mins later. **I didn’t like that at all ** I just felt she was not mindful of us and didn’t offer hospitality. But anyway, the food quality was an A customer service a C– . The omelet I had tasted amazing! The grits were very tasty. Kinda reminds me of my granny’s grits

I came here with my mom last Sunday at noon. I had been wanting to try it out for a while now and I’m glad i came. Its a small little family owned spot with only 7 booths and about 6 seats around a small counter. We came at a busy time but was lucky to get a seat in a booth. When we walked in there was 2 ladies behind the counter, they didnt greet us or say welcome. We just sat down. A simple greeting would have been nice. A lady came over to bring our silverware, again no welcome. She just same and put the stuff on the table. Ohhhh k. Our server then came over to take our order. I glanced over the menu which consisted of some southern breakfast items, pancakes, waffles, grits etc. The lunch menu had po boys, salads etc. I went with the catfish po boy and my mom had the chicken, waffle and eggs. It took about ten minutes for the food to come out and i really enjoyed it, much better than the service. My Po Boy was delicious. The bread was toasted perfect, lettuce and tomato very fresh and catfish cooked very well. Not to hard and not to soft. I really loved it! The fries were also great with a light seasoning. My mom loved her food as well. The waffle was great, I had a few bites and it was sweet, cooked well and a nice portion. The prices are pretty good as well. Overall its a cute little neighborhood place to visit from time to time but they need to improve on the service here. It could be better and doesnt take much since the place is so small. The waitress also never checked on us a or asked if we needed anything. I will return for some takeout one day.
