Maya Eyebrow Threading

Eek! Methinks not, falls very short!
Went in for eyebrow threading, have very full eyebrows that only need clean up. I asked her to do a simple clean up and she went all in and gave me «shape». Didn’t ask for it and didn’t like the shape she made of my brows, needless to say I had to regrow them.

I came here to get my eyebrows threaded before my wedding and asked for them to just be cleaned up, not too thin. I made the mistake of allowing the younger girl to do my brows. She ignored my request and gave me the thinnest pencil eyebrows ever. I have been growing my eyebrows FOR MONTHS for my wedding and in ten minutes, this girl COMPLETELY RUINED THEM. I’m going to look ridiculous in my wedding photos and they don’t even look good filled in.
Moral of the story:
DO NOT LET THE YOUNGER GIRL DO YOUR BROWS. SHE WILL MAKE THEM TOO THIN. THERE IS A REASON IT ONLY COSTS TEN DOLLARS.

When I heard that this place open I was super excited to try it out. I usually go to Ziba to get my eyebrows done. The price was super reasonable too for only $ 6! When the lady ask me how I want my eyebrows I told her that I wanted to keep my shape and only clean it! She said okay okay! When she was treading my eyebrows she keep ripping the thread more the 6 times. I was thinking to my self what have I gotten myself into. I feel like she doesn’t have that much experience in threading! When she was done and gave me the mirror I was super upset cause she thin out my eyebrows so much that my eyebrows look like a chola! II just paid and left. I learn my lesson and will never returning to this place again!

This place rocks.
I came here on the suggestion from a friend. We usually go to a place in the Glendale galleria after work and spend $ 20 on eyebrow threading. She heard about this place and told me that I should go check it out because of the price. I stopped in one day when I was in the area and really fell in love! My eyebrows came out great and I only paid $ 10 which included the tip. The salon is clean and nicely decorated, and service is pretty good.
While my usual place is more convenient I think I will be going to Maya from now on.

Fast, friendly and only payed $ 9 for lip and brows. They do an awesome job. Will be returning on a regular basis.

Eyebrows for only $ 6! Try to pay with cash to avoid a $ 1 debit/​credit fee. They are very quick and precise with their work.

Of course every place has it’s pros and cons; yet, for me, there are more positives than negatives here. The owners are friendly and aren’t scared to start a conversation. I’ve had my eyebrows done by almost everyone that works at Maya (and one lady that works here told me there are 4 locations — I didn’t get to ask where) an I have never been disappointed. Sure some have a tougher pull than others but not everyone is the same.
Prices are great; however, it’s best to bring cash because a credit/​debit card fee applies. The massages at the end of the threading is delightful and the person who works on you is not afraid to get in your face and pick off that annoying tiny hair. I love that every person always asks if you like they way everything is turning out. They take your demands and adjustments seriously.
What I don’t like is that the place is warmer than most because there is no air conditioning so that could make the process a little uncomfortable. But, other than that, I think this place is wonderful!

I love this place! They don’t use tweezers they thread all of it. The lady that did mine had a gentle hand and was so careful and precise! For only 6 $? I’m becoming a faithful costumer from now on!

My eyebrows were starting to get bushy and I was too lazy to pluck them. Sooo I decided to get my eyebrows threaded. This is my first time threading my eyebrows. I live close by, so I just walked over there. The place looks nice and colorful. I walked in and the lady quickly greeted me and asked what I wanted to thread. Then she quickly sat me down and worked on my brows. It kinda pinched here and there, but it was a smooth trip throughout the session. She took her time and asked if I approved the outcome. I like them a little thin and she was happy to fix them. Anyway, it was a great experience and I’m probably gonna come back when the little hairs come back.

I really like this place. They massage your eyebrows too!

This place opened up just a month ago.
I was super stoked to have a facial threading place open up within walking distance from my home. Really really wanted to like this place and had my fingers crossed as well hoping they were awesome in all caps. But ended up super disappointed.
Place was nice and clean. The owner and lady that does the threading seemed friendly. I wanted my eyebrows, upper lip and chin done. I appreciate how meticulous she was in making sure she got all my hair for my upper lip and chin. I can feel her pressing a little too hard when she started doing my right eyebrow. I knew she had nicked me because I felt the pain/​burn coming through. Although I expressed to her that I wanted, it wasn’t done. Yes, we are born with asymmetrical eyebrows. But we go to «eyebrow artists» so they can help us even things out as close as possible not to make them even more pronounce and worst. Eyebrows are the most important accessories in helping us frame our face. Needless to say she wasn’t too happy when I ask her to even out my eyebrows just a tad more. She started to complain to the guy about my request. So I just gave up my quest in having her fine tune her work. I still gave her a tip over 20% because she took the time to massage my eyebrows which I really enjoyed. Not a word of Thank You from the lady when I put $ 3 in her tip jar.
When I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed that my chin had a couple of nicks too! :(
At least I gave this place a try. Most importantly, in a few weeks my eyebrows will grow back and I’ll get them done right at the place I normally go to!
