Finally tried this after seeing it daily for a month on drive home from work. Didn’t have any expectations. Surprised to be told they had no availability for walk-ins other than the bar. I got excited — that seemed promising. While the bartender was great, I was underwhelmed by the food. Boyfriend and I ordered garlic bread and two different pasta dishes. Garlic bread was basic. Both pasta dishes had jalapeño, which I normally love on anything, but found ultimately that the pasta dishes were mediocre and salty(for me). Boyfriend still had appetite for dessert and said it was good though. I’ll likely come again and give it another shot with the non-pasta entrees or pizza(?), but so far coming here on Unilocal,I’m confused about all the great reviews and my mediocre experience.

YES! This place is awesome! Just moved very close and we visited 3 times in one week! To start, the kale salad is delicious. They also have a cauliflower soup sometimes that’s amazing. For entrees, the potato pizza is awesome. Also love the spaghetti and meatballs — I’m from Philly and their meatballs and gravy(red sauce) are amazing!

Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation but I was able to get a table with a friend of mine. They have both private and community shared tables. If you want a table for just yourself and your guests then i recommend making a reservation. There is no valet so you will need to find street parking. The waiter was really friendly and very attentive to helping during our meal. We ordered the seared octopus salad and I ordered the daily special which was a lamb shank with an apricot glaze on a bed of couscous and greek yogurt sauce. The meat was incredibly tender and pulled apart off the bone and very juicy and flavorful. I was incredibly impressed at how savory and delicious the entire meal was. They have a nice selection of local craft beers and wines by the glass. I really liked the atmosphere and the décor and they do have an outdoor patio in the back if you want to eat al fresco. All in all I really like this restaurant and I plan to come back again.

Loved. It’s a trek for me. But well worth it! The pizzas are incredible. The service was super friendly. I wish I lived in the hood so I could order more often!

Surprisingly superb. Recommended highly to those that are near or far away from HP. Great food, great service; ask for Teiana. Get the meatballs, try the pork chops; excellent home made in house pizza dough.

I love, love, LOVE Maximiliano! My boyfriend and I go there almost every weekend for their brunch and mimosas. We have both lived all over the world and have never had a better mimosa :) Spencer, who I think is the owner/manager is the BEST. He always greets us with a smile and is always happy to see us. The entire staff is friendly, easy-going, and fun to be around. The food is spectacular — we’ve tried almost everything and there’s nothing you can go wrong with and is great for all diets. They also have an incredible back patio seating area that is like a little oasis — we had our 2nd date there and it’s so romantic and chill. You have to go NOW!!!

Came here Friday night for my friends birthday. Shocking this place is not busy on a Friday night. Got seated right away. When entered m the restaurant I thought that place was small but there’s garden patio, really nice. FOOD was great! My favorite Bombolotti, it has fresh past, pesto, kale, parmesan, peas, and etc. Always down to try anything that has pesto. I thought the kale will ruin my pasta but the kale was amazing. If you’re vegetarian this dish is for you, no meat at all. My sister got Pan Roasted pork chop and has caramelized apple on top. Really good! We also got Pan Roasted chicken and Braised short ribs. Overall, the food is amazing. Quality of the food and price is average. Definitely I would come back and try other things in the menu and I wouldn’t mind getting the Bombolotti again. Plus, this place is 10mins away from my house, it’s worth the drive. Service is okay. Our server is too blah, just waiting for us to order, didn’t tell us whats their special. Suggest be more friendly and talk. They have valet but why pay extra when you can park on the street for free, right?!!

Came here with a friend who recommended this place. We decided to dine al fresco in the back patio. Initially we were seated towards the back of the building, but as we sat there checking out the menu, the wind would shift and it smelt like sewage. So we asked to move away from the building. Didn’t want to smell that while we’re eating dinner. We ordered an appetizer of olives with a bottle of Pinot noir. I decided on the braised short ribs which came with porcini mushroom risotto and Baby carrots. The short ribs were braised in a demi-glacé red wine sauce. It was fork tender and flavorful. Delicious. The risotto was cooked perfectly and was creamy and equally delish. The baby carrots were tender and sweet. Loved the main course. I love bread pudding and had to get the banana chocolate bread pudding for dessert. It was topped with whipped cream. Loved it. I’d definitely come back. Just be forewarned about the nasty sewage smell if you’re seated outside near the backside of the building.

First time here! Not bad at all. Everything we got tastes great. Chocolate bread pudding was really good, a little rich though, more for chocolates lovers. Will definitely be back!

Not planning on a date night, hubby and I had driven past Maximilano to grab a pizza down the street to take home. However, that joint had over an hour wait so we drove on back to Maximiliano’s. I circled around the block once, but there was no parking. Fortunately, there’s valet(around $ 3.50). We stepped in and were immediately seated. Dim lighting, yet bright colors decorate this intimate restaurant. The tables were a bit closer together, but the servers could fit in between. Server greeted us quickly and brought waters. We ordered a bottle of Chianti. Food? Starter Meatballs-good. Baby Gem Salad-big pieces of lettuce that you have to cut into, but good. Deluxe Pizza-good ingredients, however, crust was too thin & doughy, so it would fall apart if you attempted to pick up. You HAD to eat with a fork & knife. Ice Cream(although menu says they have butter pecan, they do not.) Olive Oil Ice Cream & Sea Salt Caramel sounded interesting and was a good taste combo. A surprisingly nice date spot.

Oh man. I absolutely love Oinkster and I wanted to like this place so much but was so incredibly disappointed. Service was good, atmosphere was nice, but the food ranged from almost inedible to just ok. The patio looks adorable and almost makes me want to go back… or do I? Deviled eggs: DONOTDO. The flavor was not quite right to begin with, but the salt levels were absolutely off the charts. They were declared almost inedible. Cacio e Peppe: Look, I know that this is going to be a peppery dish, but this was like biting into a sheer wall of salt and pepper that completely obliterated the other simple flavors. I soon realized that there were tons of whole peppercorns in the mix. Just not right. Cod special: I can’t speak for this dish personally, but I was told that it had seasoning challenges as well, with some bites being incredibly salty while others were bland. It was just ok. I left feeling like I had sucked down a packet of silica gel and like I wasn’t going to be able to eat for a long time, but not because I felt full or satisfied. Perhaps it was an off night, or we just ordered the wrong things, or the salt/pepper grinder in the kitchen was severely malfunctioning. Either way, it’ll be while before I give Maximiliano a second chance, and I’ll be going pasta and deviled egg free for awhile since those sound absolutely disgusting at the the moment. I wish others better luck than we had.

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in the area. We order here frequently for work and I’ve never been disappointed. I can’t imagine how much better the food would be if I dined in. Highly recommend the orecchiette, deviled eggs, salmon, and the arugula salad. Let’s actually talk about the arugula salad for a second, actually. It’s a plate of arugula. That’s it. Nothing special. But the dressing that comes with it makes it one of the best salads I’ve had. It goes to show how important dressing is for a salad. This is the sort of place I’d drive to on the weekend with friends, and I don’t live anywhere near here.

I came here last week with a few friends. We tried some pastas as well as the deluxe pizza. It was pretty good, nothing that blew my mind though. However, the restaurant had a cool atmosphere and friendly staff. I would come back again to give it another try.

Came back again in late February and had yet another awesome pig-out session, lol. I dived straight into the pasta and didn’t stop for air until we were all done! Will be back for more in the future.

This place keeps blowing my mind with amazing food. The deluxe pizza is my number one choice. the crust is not thin but not thick, the pepperoni has fantastic flavor, the beers are unique and well to do with taste. The bread plate during dinner is killer awesome. You can choose outdoor seating in a beautiful patio are with functioning heat lams for those cold nights. Everyone working here is a good citizen with neat casual attire, happy attitude, fantastic memory and attentive to your needs. Come to max and don’t look back, yackitty yak…

I swear to god I’m coming back to check out their brunch menu. That is if I happen to ever wake up before noon on the weekends. Cruising down the 5 to the 134 on a Friday night, we called Maximiliano up & asked them to save us a spot cause we comin! Street parking only. They were just about ready for us by the time we arrived. Dinner consisted of wine, a spinach salad, tagliatelle & a little pizza. Unless you & your date are some heroine chic mid-west model hipsters livin in highland park, that pizza does NOT feed 2 people!(I can eat about 3 of them by myself) Dinner was awesome. Enjoyed every minute of it. Service was great, our server babe was really nice. Your Homegirl, Violy

I can’t wait to come back here again! Went for the first time for a birthday brunch. Large group(15+) but they were very accommodating! They gave us a long table on the back patio. Such a cute environment! Heat lamps and blankets were also available. The décor was cute but the food was even better. I had the bacon Benedict, thick cut bacon with potatoes and salad sides. The hollandaise sauce was delicious. As a group we shared the breakfast pizza, so good! I don’t think you can go wrong with any item on the menu. Our waiter, Jesse, was great. It’s understandable to get overwhelmed by large groups dining but he was always polite and swift with topping off drinks or dropping off mimosas. Even when we left the whole staff said thank you and was polite.

We were introduced to Maximiliano by some friends who live nearby, and just about everything on the menu was a hit. All pasta is apparently made in-house, and was highly recommended by our dining companion family. I got the tagliatelle, and it was awesome. Mrs. C got the bombolini, which is a more of a pesto-style sauce. I don’t even like pesto that much, but it was really good. I also got to try 2 bites of the pork chop, and that may have been my favorite dish of the nite. That had so much flavor and was cooked so nicely. We also shared some side dishes, and I’m happy to write that the brussell sprouts have all of the bitterness cooked out of them. Don’t be afraid to try that one. Baby C started to get a little restless, but I promised him some watermelon sorbet if he sat back down. Apparently the sorbets are also made in-house, and the watermelon is excellent. By the time we got out at 7:30pm on a Friday, the place was packed and it looked there was at least a 30 – 40 min wait. Go here if you want some down home food that doesn’t break the bank. Street parking only.

I was here for«Sunday Funday” — since sunday was full they overlapped it to Saturday which was better for us cause we wanted it to be on a Saturday to begin with! So «Sunday Funday» was a cool one time event partnered by Dine La where you get an entrée, a side and BOTTOMLESS, all at $ 25 ! Looking through the list i was figuring out which one would have a better drink list or a better dessert list and the drink list won. hence Maximiliano! I Love bellini’s so i was excited. but when i was there i noticed they just used champagne on both Bellini’s and Mimosas. I usually like presseco with my bellini’s but Pinky’s down … I digress, So the outside patio was Adorrrable. but it was WAYYY too hot, so we moved our booties inside! They had some interesting dishes, from an egg on a pizza to pork benedict. I had a simple eggs benedict. Everyone liked what they ate but i felt out server werent giving us enough free smiles. but maybe the heat had caught up with her! at the end of it all we were charged extra for the coffee but the server didn’t tell us that it would cost more if we ordered something different ! Regardless the manager came and help took care of it and so we were all happy!
