I’ve been practicing with the Maryknoll Karate Club for 9 months now. If you want to learn Shotokan Karate, this is the place for you.

I’ve been practicing with the Maryknoll Shotokan Karate Club for 3 years and can tell you this is as «traditional» as karate gets. 95% of the classes are taught by one of 4 Godan’s (Fifth Degree Black Belt) who each have over 30 years experience a piece.
It is not easy; come expecting to push yourself past your perceived limits. Basics are strongly emphasized at Maryknoll, so there aren’t any «showy» techniques taught here; just straight forward traditional Shotokan karate as passed down by Master Funakoshi to Ohshima Sensei and onto us.
Beginners are welcome any time, but are required to watch 2 practices before joining. Just follow the link to the Maryknoll Karate Club website for contact information if you have any questions.
Practice Times:
Tuesday and Thursday — 7:15PM to 9:00PM (except first Thursday of the month 7:00PM to 8:30PM)
Saturday — 8:30AM to 10:00AM
