Manny’s been my barber for as long as I can remember. I pass up lots of barbers in Santa Monica to go see him in Brentwood. I always look great after a session with him and I know that I’ll be lost if he retires. I can also share my love of jazz with him :)

I usually get a pretty standard cut, and Manny gets it right every time. The shop, while small, does not feel cramped, the floor is always clean (at least, as clean as possible for a barber shop), and Manny himself always makes good conversation without being too pushy or verbose. Plus, at $ 20 a cut, it’s a good deal too.

Since posting my prior review, Miguel has opened The Barber Shop at 1207 Berkeley Street, Santa Monica, CA 90 404. He could be reached there at 310−980−7825 or 310−829−6070. The new shop is located immediately south of Wilshire Blvd. He is still doing great work from his new location. Miguel also has nice things to say about Manny, but he’s never cut my hair.

Hey Manny, I just am writing to say thanks for the years of making me look better than I deserve to look. And, thanks for the great conversation. But, raise your prices! We moved out of the area a few years ago, but I still look forward to my visits. And, thanks for the neck rub after the haircut… who does that? I truly believe that it’s people like you who make this country great. We’re lucky Manny’s exists and that Manny exists.

Manny has been cutting my hair since I returned to LA from college. My friend who recommended Manny has been seeing him since elementary school. Scheduling an appointment is easy as Manny calls you back promptly if/​when you leave a message. Chatting about jazz and life is always relaxing. His hair cuts are great and a bargain for his neck of the woods.

The barber did a great job with my husband’s hair. It looked much better than it does after his usual haircut.
And the total price including tip was $ 25, which is about what it costs at Fantastic Sams and Great Clips.

I’ve been going to Miguel for over 10 years now and he gives a terrific haircut. With cool jazz playing in the background, this is the barber to go to if you want a great haircut without the nonsense (or huge expense) of a salon. Plus it’s right near Brentwood and Archer schools and there’s a great coffee shop around the corner. I’d probably call ahead since he’s a popular barber here. Definitely worth a try.
