Truck is allllrrrrriggghhhhhttttt. It’s Jamaican but weak. Ordered the jerk chicken and sum kind of wings with side of veg and red rice with beans. Chicken was dry. Veg okay and rice OMG dry and burnt wtf and the workers (which was not mama but her kids) were rude and they charged almost 15 bucks. I complained about the rice ands the bitch had the nerve to say «i gave u that rice on purpose because i was talking to much» or sum dumb shit like that. Wtf are u Serious. Fuck her and fuck that truck. Mama no complains on her but everything else smh.

Mama Kingston kitchen is bomb! These haters need to get on. Mama Kingston cooks all the food herself and It is AMAZING. Jealousy seems to be the problem here. Keep doin your thing mama!

Very misleading. I though you would get authentic Jamaican dishes but you don’t. I was drawn to the pictures that «Mama Kingston» posted on her and her son Sean’s social media sites. She provided false advertisement when she claimed to make those dishes, only to be confronted and busted by a talented Webby Award-​Winning food blogger.

Ok ok. I don’t know about her plagiarizing other peoples content (which speaks volumes for her ethics), what I do know is that you should not patron this truck for the following reasons.
1) the food portions are laughable! If you get the jerk chicken, you get two (2) wings and a bunch of dry rice all for a whopping 8.99 + tax! If you get a side of plantain, you get four (4) small slices for $ 2.00! Really??? $ 13 in and nothing worth a mention… which brings me to my second point…
2) the food falls way short of authentic. I was elated to see a Jamaican food truck. It sparked nostalgic «feel good» endorphins bringing back memories of my days back in Florida hanging with my yardi boyz and frequenting some seriously real Jamaican trucks. Well, sadly, this was just a pseudo Jamaican truck and failed poorly.
I Was very eager to like this truck but it was unfortunately not to be.

Had mama Kingston’s on Venice a few weeks ago.. There was nothing special about the food and I was seriously disappointed and border line offended at the «rice and peas (red beans)» it was so DRY!!! I used the juice from my oxtails to try to moisten and flavor it, but it couldn’t be saved. Rice and peas is a huge part of Jamaican cooking if u can’t get that right don’t serve Jamaican food!!!
I was going to give it 2 stars since the oxtails were decent, but she stole pics from a chef I follow on twitter that I really admire. The craziest part about her posting those pics as her own she doesn’t have any of those food items on her truck. And since she can’t make rice and peas I doubt she could make a dish by Angela Davis. How about you perfect your own menu before you try to take someone else’s!!!
