I was reading my old review and I forgot to mention that in the last time I went to visit this dentist just before the wisdom tooth extraction which was my very last time since I’ve been back to this dentist, I had a 2nd molar on the same side(my lower left jaw) that has decayed to the point that it needed a root canal and a crown to fix. At the time, I didn’t have the cash to fix it so he gave me a temporary filling in that tooth. It’s been 5 whole years since then and that«temporary filling» has stood the test of time. Now granted, 5 years probably doesn’t seem that long and he estimated that the filling wouldn’t last more than 3, maybe 4 tops, but it has held up quite well. There was a piece that chipped off recently though. At the time when he was drilling my tooth to make room for the root canal surgery to be scheduled the following week, I had explained to them him that I didn’t have the money to do it. Afterward, he decided that since he couldn’t do the root canal on my tooth and since I didn’t have the money to pay him to do it, that he’d put a temporary filling in its place as a temporary fix. He made it very explicit that the filling was temporary and can never be a substitute to a root canal and crown. All things said, during the operation, he told me that he wanted to «do a good job» on the filling to make sure that the temporary filling doesn’t fall apart or fall out prematurely. Sure enough, 5 years later, it hasn’t fallen out yet and although a piece has chipped off, that’s pretty good, all things considered. So, I’m bumping his grade up one star for that. As far as recommending him, I still can’t say for sure, if I can recommend him. He’s a mixed bag. But so far as that one temporary filling go, he did do a good job on that and I think he deserves recognition for that.
