The best tortas with nice peeps working there! We called ahead and the food was ready and on time for pick up!(I took off one star cause they forgot the juices on the kids meal but I should’ve checked!) My favs so far are the MEXICAN and MILANESE tortas along with the TACOS! So good and the prices are just right. I will be back.

This place has the best chilaquiles! The verde(green sauce) is very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Didn’t try anything else but definitely coming back to try the smoothies and other items on the menu.

He and I have ordered everything in this menu at least once. My sisters swear by the carne asada burritos, my mom loves the consume, and he loves the tacos. I stop by for the quesadillas de hongo or sometimes flor de calabaza. My all time favorites are the chilaquiles, sauce from scratch! PLUS the agua de melon!!! delicious, all the aguas are made to order. I love the torta de huevo, the sauces are divine! This our weekly dinner spot and weekend go to. It doesn’t make us feel bad considering we just walk over from our home. Keep in mind that there’s only one to two chefs cooking in the back so your food might take long, especially if there’s people ahead of you. I don’t mind the wait tho because it’s worth it, never had to wait more than 15 minutes. DEFINITELY a MUSTTRY!!! The best spot in this city. BTW my verizon service is kinda slow in here. There’s a small charge for using cards.

I’ve tried the tortas and a few other plates on the menu. The torta cubana is by far my favorite plate on the menu. I think I could finish it every time I order it but I never do. The prices are very reasonable for such good food.

Love this place when I buy tortillas across the street. They are open early and are one of the few places to make and serve huitlacoche. The abuelita in the back is so sweet and she makes everything just as you can imagine – like your grandma would. The green salsa is fantastic – spicy but not too spicy. I have ordered the quesadilla con huiltlacoche and it’s fresh and ready to order. Her corn tortillas alone are thick and made fresh. It’s not really a quesadilla in the traditional sense, but like a large folded corn taco with cheese, lettuce, and crema. The juices are great as well. I forget the name, but I ordered the juice with strawberries, lime, and carrots which is refreshing and tangy.

Customer service is great made a phone order for pick up and my whole order was ready in 15 mins. What I really liked was I had ordered two fresh aguas and instead of having them ready and sitting there until I got there; they made them right in front one when I arrived to pick up my order. The tortas were really big and flavorful. One torta can feed two people if you don’t eat a lot. The prices were great. I will definitely be returning and trying different things on the menu.

After craving chilaquiles for a long time I surprisingly haven’t been able to find good ones in East LA. I found this place on Unilocal and to my surprise they were very good and the portions are very generous. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

After living in this neighbourhood for over a year I have final found THE Torta spot in Boyle Height’s. I can’t believe this place flew under my Unilocal radar all this time. Price for value is excellent here. Service is genuinely friendly. It may take a little longer to prepare, but it tastes alot better! After sampling the Torta Cubana and Torta Mexicana, I would choose the cubana. If you like spice, then the mexicana is for you. We lucked out with complimentary cheesecake. I don’t know if thats a custom for all new comers? Next time I would like to try the nachos and the Luisito Salad.

First time here but pretty sure I’ll be back. I like the menu. Not the usual fare to choose from. They have huitlacoche(think I spelled that right). I ordered the torta Mexicana. Very flavorful and spicy. Next time will surely include a quesadilla. The tortilla is made to order and looked amazing. They also offer Mexican egg dishes that by the photo look very tasty. I will have to invite friends so that we can order a variety of thinks. The place is small and quaint. Parking is iffy. The juices look refreshing. The torta was just the right size but I think for average eaters it would be a lot.

So this little spot is 5 minutes from the hospital on Caesar Chavez and you can actually see it from some of the hospital rooms. It is located near a hamburger joint and there is plenty of street parking if you are lucky($ 0.25 gets you 15 minutes). Once I entered the location I was shocked on how clean it was and everything was organized and well maintained. From the looks of the street you are expecting a different look to the interior but left pleasantly surprised. Once inside the lady at the counter was very nice and I chose to order a carne asada torta and a torta cubana which came out to 13 bucks with a coke. The prices are great and I took my order to go because the tortas were not mine they were for my family waiting across the street. Once my family received their meal they all expressed their feelings about their torta. My sister liked her carne asada torta but she has had better. She also hated how they just threw your chips in the bag and I agreed with that. The salsas had a kick and they were very flavorful. My parents and I shared the torta cubana and it was really good. The bread was nice and soft and the meat was very flavor full and both my parents enjoyed it. I will come back to this place, hopefully under different circumstances.

I stopped here on my way through town on a random Friday– just happened to be in the neighborhood, saw the Unilocal rating, and decided to trust it. I cannot overstate what a great choice this was. I had the mexicano torta and it was delicious– soft, fresh bread, delicious meats, amazing sauce. So good. I also had the cucu fresh smoothie and it was the most delicious thing I’ve had in a very long time. It’s perfect for a hot day. Also, as others have noted, the customer service is great. They’re super friendly.

I ordered a carne asada torta and a mango mixed juice. I would have said this place is fantastic, and given them 5 stars, except for a couple of things that are service related. Just be warned: I came at just after 11:00am, and still had to wait more than 20 minutes for my torta. Then I had to wait an additional time for my juice. What I’m mainly marking them down for, is the mistakes they made. The roll for my torta was flat out burnt. The cook should have thrown it out and given me another. Also, unless they make their juice so thick you can stand a spoon in it, they gave me a smoothie. The food is really good, so I will give them another chance.

It was delicious. I was working in Boyle Heights, and when in Rome, do as the Romans. I knew all week I would be having Mexican food. I started Unilocaling different places, so I can have a different experience every day. This was day one. I drove down the street to this little hole in the wall. I knew it was meant to be because I got parking right in front of the establishment, and someone had already paid the meter. Unilocalers’ pictures had already told me it was a small mom/pop joint. It was clean. The menu was good. So I stopped in. It did not disappoint. I ordered a carne asada torta. There is one cook who had three people in front of me. she worked fastl. I was able to see her prepare other Mexican dishes, and then my torta. The carne asada could have been a great better, but the sandwich was delicious! Additionally, I can never go into a Mexican restaurant and not have agua fresca. The gentleman behind the counter convinced me to try alfalfa agua fresca. It was delicious! This place will definitely be on my «Yes, let’s go again» list.
