OK service. Side salads that can’t be considered salads. Orange chicken that is not very orangey and that was extremely sticky. My friends weren’t very happy with what they got either… garlic chicken, something with tofu, happy family platter… Underwhelmed by my experience here.

Ok, I came here with the family when I brought the kids to have lunch with Mom on her lunch break because it was close by. We were kind of in a rush because it was a busy day, so we picked the closest spot that we thought would be easy. That was probably our first mistake. When we walked in, there was nobody in there. Nobody. This should’ve tipped me off. The staff were friendly though, even in the limited English they appeared to speak, which is the only reason they got 2 stars, instead of one. The place did not look like a restaurant. It was oddly shaped more like a small diner with a long bar with stools and a grill behind it. There were some stairs that went somewhere unknown on either side of it. We walked all the way to the back of the place, near the restrooms. The menu was boring and limited, if not unimpressive. We ordered the egg flower soup and egg rolls to start, which were both lacking in taste. Plus we had the Kung Pao Chicken & the Broccoli Chicken but I swear to you, for the life of me, I could not tell them apart by taste. Sure, they appeared different, but tasted exactly the same. And neither of them were any good. We laughed about it and shrugged our shoulders. Not even my kids, who pretty much eat anything, we’re impressed. I learned my lesson. We won’t be back. Sorry.

Never had an issue with this restaurant before. I called to place an order for pick up and the guy who answered, who’s name is Sergio, put me on hold for 10 min. I hung up because I could hear that he was taking other people’s orders and just left me on hold. I then decided to walk to the restaurant, and confronted Sergio because the line was still busy. Yes, the smug Sergio didn’t even realize that the phone was still on hold. And… The restaurant wasn’t even full. Lousy customer service!!! Get someone more responsible at the front counter Greg(manager). Sergio says there was no manager on duty? Really? Friday, April 8 at 11:45am

Second great meal from this place! Delivery is fast and efficient, and the food arrives hot… really hot(how do they do that?). Kung Pao Chicken is excellent — tastes very fresh, and the chicken itself is delicious. The spring rolls are just greasy enough and taste freshly made, and the chown mein was delicious. Great addition to the delivery landscape in DTLA! I can’t vouch for the restaurant, as I haven’t been there yet, though.

+ Prob the greatest orange chicken I’ve had + Lots of seating This review is for my experience of ordering to-go. It was a simple transaction really, just went in, ordered, got my food and left. The wait wasn’t anything to write home about, nor was it too long. The food however, orange chicken + white rice. give it to me fam. You know, I had this discussion with my buddy. He asked me, how in the world can you make orange chicken any different to have it stand out as ‘best.’ Well, I couldn’t really explain it. You just have to try it, y’know? But this is the best orange chicken I’ve ever had. Beats out the Orange County places I’ve been to, and other LA spots as well. I don’t know, you just have to try it. It’s nice and soft, not too crisp, not too much batter. It’s wild, I just love the orange chicken here lol. Overall, I’d come back for the orange chicken.

This was my first time at the restaurant for lunch. I heard so many good things about it so took my coworker for his birthday. First off his order was given to another table, my order came next, there was no explanation by the staff about the mix up until we called the server to our table as to why his order was not sent with mine. The server never came back to see if we needed anything else, like a food to go box until we called him. I was embarrassed and did not leave a tip. This was not a good experience and I think the staff should be more trained on proper service etiquette.

I walked here from jury duty from the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. The service was good, but the food was horrible. Everything tasted RUBBERY! The salad, my tofu in my soup, my lettuce wraps, the meat inside the wrap, the peas. The most unenthusiastic food I’ve ever had. And to think I paid $ 13! Ugh! Never again! I kept thinking I should have just stood up on the hill and got something from the food trucks.

This place is dope if you are going to an event at the Edison! I highly recommend it. I got the potstickers and egg rolls. The potstickers hit the spot if you are already drinking. They were good, crispy and delicious. The egg rolls were decent, I don’t like it when there is more cabbage than protein. And while we waited for our food, I ordered a beer for $ 5 and we got served fried wonton skins with sweet and sour sauce for waiting. You can’t beat that! Like I said, it was a dope place to get a light eat/drink/hang session before going to the Edison. Also, shout-outs to Greg for hooking our group of 6 into the front of the line at the Edison. That was not expected but very nice of him!

This place delivers for only $ 2, not bad for dtla. I actually picked up my food, they were open later than the other Chinese restaurants so I gave them a try. Their prices are between $ 2 – 5 higher than other Chinese restaurants in the area with better reviews so I was a little skeptical. I had shrimp Fried rice and orange chicken. They were both tasty and decent size portions. My only complaint was that there were only exactly 6 shrimp in my rice. I paid extra for shrimp so I expected a little more than that. I plan to try a few other places in the area, definitely a Chinese food fix if you are looking for one late. They got 4 stars from because the customer service was great. They were really nice and accommodating, and if I had to choose between them and place with better food and horrible service I will patronize the restaurant that appreciates my business.

Great little place a block away from Grand Park. For those of you who are on jury duty and crave Chinese, Liliya’s will satisfy you, and it is worth the price.

This business has been here quite awhile. I walk by it everyday for the past few years now. I’ve always wanted to come, but discouraged from reviews by coworkers. Well I had the Eggplant dish, which wasn’t that bad. Service was Ok. The restaurant itself is sorta dim, partial sunlight through the windows with gold circle garland hangings on each window. I can’t too much for the other dishes, haven’t had them yet, don’t know if I will anytime soon, my coworkers are creatures of habit and hence my shortage of reviews of eateries by my job. To sum it up: It’s the only Chinese food in that area(LA City Hall/LAPD, etc. & Little Tokyo), there was one other Chinese fusion on Central, but just realized it’s not longer in business.

My review has nothing to do with the food but everything to do with the service. I called to order Kung Pao Chicken and lady told me they don’t serve that… um isn’t it on the menu? ok, no big deal. Since I was driving, I couldn’t look at the menu so I asked if they had something similar. … I then heard the phone click. Here’s a piece of advice, if your food is getting bad reviews, maybe you should try to have better service.

I have eaten at Liliya multiple times and it never disappoints. In some Chinese restaurants, I stick to one or two main items but I am not afraid to dive into the lunch menu and try new things without any worry. I would definitely recommend the sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, & Mongolian chicken just to name a few!

Located in the heart of downtown! Pros: one of my favorite lunch spots downtown! Food is prepared fresh. Dinning area is extremely comfortable. Great location. Food is tasty. Many varieties on types of food and all types of meat selections are available to customize your meal and all entrees come with soup and salad. On the menu the spice factor is also listed and can also be customized. If your looking for a taste Chinese food at affordable price and good service– look no further. Cons: the inability to cross customize. Meaning to order orange chicken with side of Kung pao chicken is not possible. However you can order for example Kung pao chicken and Kung pao shrimp together without having to order two entrees. Novelty: Kung pao items as well as orange chicken!

My review is for delivery only. I’ve had the Liliiya Shrimp, Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce, Jjajjangmyun, Champong, and Pork dumplings. The Champong is pretty gross… It has no spice nor flavor. And I don’t know how but the Jjajjangmyun is watery… BUT if you’re torn between the two, I would say go with the jjajjangmyun. It does the job if your just feeing for some jjajjang. Overall everything is just mediocre. The food is kinda pricey for what you get. If you’re Korean and know how everything is supposed to taste… You probably won’t enjoy it. :[

I 100% recommend that you dine-in if you choose to eat at Liliya. I feel that they give you significantly less when you order it for take-out. Not only that, but they charge you extra for soup, which is normally complimentary if you dine-in. Liliya is what most people would consider a Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant. You’ll see the better known dishes on the menu: orange chicken, beef broccoli, kung pao chicken, etc. You’ll also see the better known Korean dishes: black bean noodles, spicy seafood soup, something-family seafood, kimchi fried rice, etc. From the 2 – 3 times I’ve eaten here, I can say that the food here is really hit or miss. The orange chicken and the kung pao chicken here are super mediocre in terms of taste and quality. The beef broccoli and the bulgogi aren’t too bad and I’ll probably stick with either of these on any potential visits in the future. They do offer good service; staff will occasionally walk around and ask how everything is and offer to refill your drink. The restaurant itself is clean and food comes out rather quickly. Prices aren’t cheap, but it’s not an extremely expensive meal; most of the lunch specials range from about $ 10 – 12, depending on what kind of meat you choose(beef, chicken, pork, shrimp). Like I said, if you do decide to eat here, make sure to dine-in as you get more value doing so.

Yeah, after today’s antics from you guys, I really believe that you don’t want my money and I no longer should spend my money here. Obviously, disappointing doesn’t even cover how I’m feeling today. I called today, @ 12:15pm for an order of orange chicken(yeah, I know, but that’s what I wanted today), and was told that it’ll be about 15 minutes. Cool, I’ll head down there after my task. I have a total of 30 minutes for lunch, so it’s pretty crucial that I have my timing down — or I would end up not eating my lunch or eating bites of my lunch in between each call. Anyways, I get there to the front counter and the cashier is busy with someone. I patiently wait, then a lady walks in — and stands in(what I now know — «to go») line. The cashier finishes up with the gentleman, takes a call, ignores us for a minute. Then proceeds to go to the line after I told him that I’m here for a to go order and assists the other lady. Without looking at anything — he tells me my order is coming up. UM, hello? wtf. Where is the effing customer service here? So after assisting the other customer. He looks at his screen puzzled and said you called an order? yes. I gave my name(again), and what I ordered. By this time, it’s been almost 20 minutes since I placed my order. He doesn’t know what happened, and it doesn’t show on his screen. He said, oh I can place your order now. No thanks, I rather go spend and wait for my food elsewhere. Yeah, fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me. Since this is my treatment. Me and my lunch money can go elsewhere. **Deuces**

Came here with 2 of my friends for a late night dinner and we liked it a lot. Their complimentary Fried Wontons are addicting. Super thin and crispy. It came with a sweet chili sauce. Sooo good! Loved their Orange Chicken! We just had to get Orange Chicken to be safe lol. It was a great choice. It’s fresh, meaty, not too much breading and sweet. Maybe too sweet for others, but I like it. We also had their Seafood Noodle. Clear noodles with shrimp, calamari, mussels in a spicy seafood sauce. It screamed Korean more than Chinese because of the spices. If you had spicy Korean noodles then you probably know what I’m talking about. I liked it though. It had enough seafood and it was very spicy. In my opinion, it’s not an authentic Chinese restaurant, but it’s pretty darn tasty. Go to Chinatown if you want the real thing.
