I was in L.A. on business travel, had some time to kill, and decided to get some ink. I had gone to High Voltage Tattoo to see what the buzz was about there, and found that place to be too commercialized and expensive. I then found my way to Zulu tattoo and met Keleigh. She was super nice, but they didn’t have an artist available. She sent me to LHTC.
Once at LHTC, I met Andreas, and I couldn’t have been happier that fate had directed me to him and his shop. We discussed my thoughts regarding the tattoo and price. His price was fair and reasonable, and 3x less than the estimate I received from High Voltage. Because his shop is still pretty new, they did not have credit card machines set up. With no way to get cash, Andreas was kind enough to accept a check (totally surprising giving the times today).
It took Andreas about 30 – 45 minutes to draw up what I wanted and then we got started. My tattoo took about 2 hours, and Andreas was easy to get along with, talk with, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting tattoo’d by him. The tattoo came out fantastic and I am completely satisfied with the result. Not being from L.A. and having no idea about him as an artist, I was completely comfortable with him and really enjoyed the experience. I love my tattoo and can’t thank him enough for the great work. His work was first rate, and would definately consider getting more ink from him in the future, should I ever make it back out to L.A.

Over the years, we have become good friends with Joby because he is so easygoing, friendly and above all — TALENTED! Joby is a mastermind of tattoo and art.

Joby Cummings is the most professional, kind, and patient tattoo artist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have 6 tattoos…2 of which are his work and the other 4 are in the process of being removed (as a result of being «rushed in to decision/​design» by other tattoo artists). I now reside in Boston and will be flying out to LA in September to have Joby work on my 3^rd tattoo — he’s just that good at what he does. A true artist, and gentleman. I have recommended him to three of my friends who are all extremely happy with their results as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a truly exceptional tattoo… and overall experience.

Look no further for your tattoo needs. These guys are some of the finest tattoo artists in Los Angeles. They make you feel at home and comfortable in their space. You will most definitely NOT be disappointed getting work done by these fine gentlemen. Personally, I can’t wait to get back. And it is remarkable the way Joby runs his machines, very easy on the skin, with minimal pain and scarring. Love this place!

Clean shop, talented and professional artists and one of the few tattoo studios where the focus is on getting you what you want. A lot of shops are 90% attitude and douche bag hanger-​ons, here’s a place to go for some artwork.

Joby Cummings @ Lighthouse is an AMAZING and light-​handed tattoo artist! He helped develop my design for the KICK-​ASS torso/​stomach/​upper shoulder/​back piece that he put down! I had little to no bleeding or scarring, and the heal time was super fast! I highly recommend you check him out if you are serious about quality. Definitely worth the investment!!!
