Josephine was AMAZING! She is in very high demand so her schedule gets booked fast but luckily someone cancelled when I called in on Wednesday and she was able to take me the following Monday.
I have dark Asian hair and I wanted more blonde highlights and to tone out my brassy ombré. She spent 4.5 hours making sure my hair cooked to the right color I wanted. She wasn’t in a rush and even pushed back her next appointment to accommodate to my hair.
She was fun to talk to and listened to exactly what I wanted. The results were better than I expected!!!
Wish I knew about the 20% off new client unlock but she was well worth the time and money!

I did a big transformation, from Black to Silver (granny hair)! Josephine is very patient, knowledgeable, and truly cares about your hair. Since I had to bleach my hair 3x, she did everything she could to make sure my hair won’t break apart.

I wanted a long bob with balayage and scoured Unilocal for places to go to. I finally settled on going to Josephine because of the pictures and high ratings.
My expectations were pretty high, but Josephine exceeded them! I’m a bit inexperienced when it comes to asking for specifications with hair, so I told Josephine the basics of what I wanted along with some sample pictures, and she went above and beyond. I LOVE my new haircut and color, and Josephine was so friendly and personable.
She also recommended to give me a more permanent, ashy color (my hair is black), but only after I get used to my hair being this length/​color first. She said she’ll text me in a couple of weeks to check in and see if I would want the more ashy color, which I think is so sweet. Thank you Josephine!

Do not come here if you don’t expect wonderful results! Oh my gosh. Josephine did an amazing job at blending my highlight growth that looked awful before she touched it. I also had her chop off about 7 inches of my hair into a long bob because I was in desperate need of change. I have moved from city to city searching for a hairstylist who is amazing and I have finally found my go to! She is a perfectionist at her craft. You can tell she genuinely loves and cares about what she does and boy does it show! Thank you Josephine for doing a number on my hair. You are the absolute best! I could not recommend her more!

I have never dyed my hair before, so going from BLACK to PASTEL was huge for me. I was immediately put at ease once I contact Josephine. Her experience and knowledge about hair is astounding.
Josephine was so concerned with the health of my hair that she meticulously applied the bleach and checked on it constantly. Even though my hair required three bleaching sessions, I have observed ZERO BREAKAGE!
Not only did Josephine treat my hair with such care and consideration, but she went the extra mile with the color. Unhappy with the first application, she dedicated her entire Sunday afternoon to perfecting the color. You can most definitely trust her with any hair projects you have in mind. Highly recommend.

Josephine is super sweet. I did balayage with her once and came back because I loved how it looked the first time. She was very responsive when it came to making an appointment and spent a lot of time adjusting my cut to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it. She’s also very knowledgeable about color and concerned about the health of your hair.
On top of that, she’s very affordable compared to other stylists in the area, which is awesome when you’re on a student budget.

Josephine is beyond great!!! She did an amazing job on my hair. She’s very friendly and actually listens to what you want. She literally will not stop until your hair is perfect. She was excellent at mixing colors. My hair is very dark, thick and tough to lighten so if you have difficult hair like mine trust me she can help. I loved my ombré hair. I had my Ombré done with other stylist and it was fail.
I thought my hair is done! I can’t fix it. Josephine take time review my damage hair and she give out treatment, and redone my ombré. Josephine is very passionate to do her work, she is very perfectionist.
She took care of it very well, even when she put color, she make sure put the good quality that will not make more damage on my hair. after she put more oil on my hair. I came to visit LA for just 48 hours and part of my visit included getting my hair re-​colored. I found Josephine on Unilocal when she was working at a different salon. (She has a big streak of 5 star review for a reason!) I’m so happy to have been connected with her because she’s definitely one of my favorite hair stylist! :(Too bad she’s all the way in LA, and I’m in SF!
From the beginning, she was helpful in getting my questions addressed. We had corresponded via text, and being a millennial, it was very easy for me to chat with her regarding the styling.
My objective for my hair was to get partial highlights and lighten it up a bit for summer. Throughout the whole process, Josephine was very warm and welcoming. Her personality really shines and you feel like your best friend is doing your hair.
Overall, I was satisfied with the results, the color came out a little darker than usual and Josephine knew that and immediately offered to lighten the color more. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time for the process. I was very happy that she was willing to keep me a satisfied customer though. It worked out in the end, because after a few shampoo washes later, my hair became lighter on it’s own.

I moved to Los Angeles for the second time this past July! I have seen two other stylist that did not touch Josephine and her skill set.
When I called to make the appointment, she was very helpful! Sent me a follow up text with parking information. When I arrived, she greeted me at the door with a huge smile. She looked at my hair and decided to retouch the highlights that were already placed.
During the process, she offered drinks and we had great conversation.
After finishing the color (which turned out a little to blended for my taste due to the way the previous highlights were done) she went back at my request and put some lighter pieces to break up the one tone on top.
My FAVORITE part of all. THE CUT!!! As a curly girl, i have requested from previous stylist to put shorter layers in to create a little volume and movement. All had failed. But Josephine delivered!!! I love my haircut!!!
Overall, GO SEE HER! You will not regret it. I have already referred a friend and her sister to go see the best stylist in west LA! Don’t miss out on FABULOUS hair!

Loveeeeeee my JET BLACK hair (pics coming soon)… I was over my Carmel highlights & needed to go dark. I’m naturally a dark brunette but I decided to go jet black and I love it. It is everything I wanted and more.
Josephine listened and straightened my newly dyed hair after the service and I loved the entire process. Not only was her conversation and personality amazing and completely warm — I felt like I got new hair and a new friend after my appointment. I highly recommend the Unilocal deal as well.

Josephine is amazing — she’s talented and the sweetest person! I have never done anything drastic to my hair color and on a whim (based on the reviews on Unilocal) I called to see how much it would be for an ombré balayage. I was nervous about making the change but Josephine assured me that what I wanted was not only achievable but also something that would look good.
I’ve been to many places where people doing color are afraid to do anything drastic or advising what would look good. Josephine has the skill, confidence and experience to provide a complete change. She also assured me that if I wasn’t happy with the work she did, she would adjust it until I was.
She spent hours on my hair (I have a lot) and didn’t complain about it (I have had hair stylists do so in the past). She’s also extremely experienced with Asian hair so that was a huge bonus for me!
She really cares about the work she does and she’s a pleasure to talk to as well. :) I 100% recommend her.

After reading through dozens of reviews for hair stylists in the west LA area that weren’t $ 75+ for a simple trim, I fell upon Josephine’s page. I called her up and she happened to have had a person cancel and was available immediately. Score!
I have long, naturally blonde hair and each strand is so delicate and fine that I usually dread the stylist brushing it out for fear of it breaking (or I just brush it out myself in the salon). Secondly I always know that when you say 1 inch, they take 3 inches. So I usually avoid cutting my hair often.
Well Josephine is definitely my new hair stylist! She immediately mentioned how delicate she needed to be with my hair and I told her I just wanted a trim. After an amazing shampoo and scalp massage, Josephine took such care with brushing out my hair, which can be a total nightmare. She was so gentle and took her time. She then gave me a perfectly even trim and took off less than an inch.
If you’re looking for a great stylist who listens to you, will treat your hair with great care, is totally great to chat with, and won’t charge you an arm and a leg… Go to Josephine!
