This place is so bad I don’t get what’s up with all these stellar reviews, are they buying their reviews or are all these 5 stars coming from the drunk people who come here for the byob policy

BF booked this place for our first V-day in 2015, but accidentally overbooked on V-day reservations. We ended up giving this place another try and have been coming back every time we were in the Los Feliz area. Ambiance: rustic décor. When I first walked in, I told BF that the interior décor resembled of my friend Eva’s home. Her hubby is Italian and he got inherited some great Italian antiques from his parents when they first immigrated to the U.S. Food: the plating is very simple. Everything is hand made so it tastes like a home cooked meal. Its BYOB so make sure to bring a bottle, as H20 or soda doesn’t go very well with pasta. I say try as many dishes as you can without feeling bloated from the pasta. Overall: Please support this adorable place out. We met with the Chef/owner, from what I recall he used to be in the film industry and now a Chef who wants to showcase food from his hometown. Thx to BF for discovering it when it first opened :-)

My boyfriend and I dined here tonight for the first time after visiting the Griffith Observatory. When we walked in, we immediately felt that the atmosphere was unique, intimate, comfortable, and inviting. There were so many incredibly tasty-looking options on the menu, and the wonderful, knowledgeable waiter gave us excellent suggestions. We ordered the burrata salad, pappardelle pasta with Matriciana sauce, the Ricotta ravioli with mushroom cream sauce and a panna cotta for dessert. EVERYTHINGWASABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. My favorite was the pappardelle that I ordered– my boyfriend kept stealing bites :). After dinner, we had a chance to chat with Paolo and Carlotta, who are so lovely, welcoming, fun and wonderful. Simply put, La Pergoletta is our favorite Italian restaurant we’ve ever been to, and we’ll be back next chance we get!

Ambience is nice, waiters are friendly, food was ok. Ordered mushroom risotto with steak. Risotto was just ok but the steak on top was fantastic. Good local place excellent value hence always packed. But definitely genuine Italian food. Bolognese is simple, not too flavorful. Price is low compared to other restaurants in the area.

Woah. This place is good. If you’re looking for HOMEMADEPASTA… this is your place. We showed up at 6:08, and it was already packed, with the only table available being the«community table». We were a bit confused, as there were 2 long tables available that could’ve been split up that seemed to be reserved, but we were under the impression there weren’t reservations? No matter. We sit next to another couple at a table, and get our menus. As its been pointed out, there is no alcohol here, but pretty sure you can BYOB. The menu is set up so you have your different pastas and on another page is different sauces, with a few pre-arranged pasta dishes. There are a couple specialty dishes and meat dishes as well… but we were here for homemade pasta. I have to say, choices were a little overwhelming, since technically there were about 500 different combinations. But our waiter was very informative and helped us pick from his favorites. We got the squid ink pasta(with just shrimp) and the meat ravioli with a spicy red sauce(I forget the name). SQUIDINKPASTA — Probably the best I’ve ever had. It was seasoned perfectly. Shrimps were wonderfully cooked. I usually don’t take left over pasta home… but I had to, it was too delicious. MEATRAVIOLIWITHSPICYREDSAUCE — If I only ate this for the rest of my life, I’d be a happy lady. Holy moly. They were perfect: not the huge stuffed ravioli you usually get, these were light little clouds of meat cheese and sauce. I don’t regret getting the squid ink pasta, but I’m definitely getting this next time. Super reasonably priced and I great homey environment, we’ll definitely be back!

This is our new favorite Italian place in Los Angeles! The kitchen clearly pays close attention to detail, creating a memorable taste experience. The service is attentive and professional. We appreciate their wide range of vegetarian choices, though I’m sure their meaty dishes are just as well-made. And thanks to their BYOB policy with no corkage fee, we get to select an interesting yet affordable wine up the street at Lou Wine Shop and drink the whole bottle with dinner for nearly the same price some places charge for a single glass of Pinot Noir. We’ve enjoyed walking/staggering to the nearby theater after dinner to watch a movie while our buzz subsides before driving home. It’s the centerpiece for a great night out in Los Feliz. We’ve benefitted from making reservations every time we visited. It’s a small place, and the secret is getting out. Yes, their fresh homemade pasta is exquisite. Yes, we tried the panna e funghi(mushroom cream) sauce with gnocchi, and everyone raving about it is telling you the truth. The burro e salvia(butter sage) and norma(tomatoes, eggplant, mozzarella and romano) sauces were also terrific. We’ll be back, excited to experience more of what the menu has to offer. Fantastic desserts, too.

The little Italian restaurant that could… and did! The lasagna alone is worth a cross country drive, with it’s thin, delicate layers of freshly home made pasta and delicious ingredients(as with any meal here!). The Owner Paolo is Italian and a bit of an all round great guy and a marvelous cook! This family deserves the accolades that this wonderful restaurant gets. The best Italian food I personally have ever eaten and made with the utmost love by a local living family that wants you to be happy, comfortable and well fed! It’s also nice to see this space finally succeed after years and years of failing business attempts here these guys have not only made it work but blown all of us locals away with how good it is! BYOB to boot!!! What’s not to love?!

Had dinner here on Tuesday with two of my girlfriends, service was great ! and the food was even better. it’s like a small family restaurant with a home-y feel(: cream of broccoli soup was perfect. I had the gnocchi filled with cheese and their bolognese sauce and it was to die for. I also had a taste of their cream of mushroom and it was amazing. I am definitely coming back to try more delicious entrees ! I heard there’s usually a wait during the weekends, call ahead and make reservations !

Took my family here(mix of vegetarian and pescetarian) and everyone loved the food. Lots of fresh pasta, and you can order either simple pasta or filled pasta with different sauces(filled pasta is slightly more expensive). Really liked the cozy feeling of the restaurant. We ordered: 1. Minestrone soup: Good flavor but too salty. Reminded me of an italian wedding soup. 2. Bruschetta di Burrata: Delicious. Small portion but worth it(roasted bell peppers, burrata, pesto, what’s not to like??) 3. Free bread basket: Good, warm bread, but tiny portion, not sure if it would be worth ordering a second basket(costs $ 2.50 per each additional basket) 4. Squid ink fettuccine 5. Spinach pappardelle with Norma sauce: Needed more salt but otherwise tasty(eggplant, tomato, mozzarella, pecorino romano). REALLY loved this pasta(we ordered a second plate with the mushroom sauce). 6. Stuffed gnocchi with mushroom cream sauce: Everyone liked this, but I think I prefer regular gnocchi, as the texture was too similar throughout the pasta including the filling. I would have preferred a ravioli so that there is a bit more texture. 7. Eggplant parmesan: Different than the usual eggplant parmesan that I am used to, this one was not fried or breaded. Just simple eggplant cooked in a really delicious tomato sauce with cheese. 8. Tiramisu: Yes. Do it. More cream/custard than cake, but so delicious. I didn’t taste any alcohol in this. 9. Berry panna cotta: Highlight of my meal. True to other reviews, this is definitely a must-do. Way better than the Nutella panna cotta, which hardens from the cold temperature and is really difficult to break off and eat. Also, does not contrast well with the panna cotta, as it is sweet on sweet, and I really prefer the tartness of the berries with the creaminess of the panna cotta.

With La Pergoletta, I feel like I’ve found a little hidden golden nugget. This small little unassuming café with checked table cloths has wedged its way into my heart. The pasta is some of the best in the city. Everything is handmade, from scratch. Prices are fair. And as we found out, to much dismay as we realized the liquor store next door was closed, it’s BYOB. I had the pappardelle boscaiola, which is a mixture of bolognese sauce and cream sauce, aka my wildest dreams realized. So good, tastes like home. My fiancé had fettuccine alfredo with chicken… very simple but they knocked it out of the park. Service was a little slow, but I honestly didn’t mind as we didn’t have a reservation and I enjoyed the extra time to take in the surroundings and talk with my date. I am so excited to go back and bring wine. This place is my new secret weapon.

Some very tasty italian dishes. The place was busy and I do recommend making a reservation. It is still BYOB and totally worth it!!! The place is homey and casual, yet cute and romantic. Every table has one of those large candles dripping wax over an old wine bottle. I don’t think You could go wrong with any of the pasta choices or sauces since they are all made in house. I ordered the Brie prosciutto bruschetta with honey and tomatoes and basil! Delicious combination. I ordered the pappardelle special and it was amazingly delicious. Meat sauce mixed with mushroom sauce. My fiancé ordered the stuffed ravioli And it was delicious. Only problem was it literally came with 6 raviolis the size of ritz crackers. Id say that’s a dish that is really small portion sized. So if you are starving, go with a different pasta choice. Also the espresso with ice cream is to die for! Great after dinner treat. But I did love this place! And I would recommend it to whoever wanted a great italian meal.

Paolo the owner makes all his pasta, bread and sauces on site. All the food is fresh and reminiscent of what it’s like in Italy. It has a casual atmosphere and is incredibly low priced for the quality and portions delivered. I believe he brings in his mushrooms for his killer ragu direct from Italy. It’s best to make a res on Friday and Saturday. Also, they don’t have a liquor license, so bring your own vino. This is my current best italian on the east side of LA.

Italian comfort food at its finest. So this place is reallll cute. Very homey, intimate, and the owner is a really cool guy. So we got the fettuccine etrusca and the penne cream mushroom sauce. The fettuccine etrusca was like eating pasta your mom cooked for you and your family on Christmas Day. What I’m saying is that it felt like eating comfort food. So rich with flavor, sauce to no end, fantastic. The penne with cream of mushroom was definitely the highlight. Go for the penne since it’s much thicker. The cream of mushroom sauce was also much more robust in its flavor, being sweet but also savory and full. Pergoletta deserves your time, your money, and your love.

Everyone raves about how cute this place is inside. But they seated us outside of the store. Okay. We ordered: Caesar salad(3⁄5): Rather flavorless. Not enough dressing and too much green leaves. Risotto Del Mare(3⁄5): Not cooked to al dente and not cheesy/creamy enough. Seafood is fresh though. Gnocchi Ripieni(filled with fontina, parmesan, mozzarella, gorgonzola) with mushroom cream sauce(4⁄5): I have to give them credits for the filled gnocchi. The gnocchi skin is very silk and soft and thin. And the cheese bursts in your mouth, creating an amazing cheesy feeling. The cream of mushroom sauce is well made. Spaghetti with meatball sauce(3.5÷5): Spaghetti is cooked pass al dente… so it became soft and a little soggy. Wish they give us more meatballs! :) Service(depends on the server) is either below par or on par. So 3 star it is.

Considering La Pergoletta is in a strip-mall, its warm and charming atmosphere is really impressive. I think the incongruity with its surroundings even adds to the charm because you don’t expect it. The interior is like a miniature, rustic, old-school red-sauce italian restaurant with deli counter. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious. They serve mostly homemade pastas and I think two dried pastas(those are the only vegan options) and you can mix and match with different sauces — the waiters will give advice on which are the best combinations. Prices are reasonable and the salads are huge, you can share one. There are a few vegan options for salad and pasta though nothing is marked as such, you have to ask, no vegan desserts, and last time I was there some mysterious bits of what looked like pancetta(the waiter said he didn’t know what it was) and a single long non-vegan noodle made it’s way into my dish but it was easily separable. I mention because if they’re reading this — please take greater care to separate the ingredients. La Pergoletta is a great, romantic date spot. I’ve seen multi-generational families eating here, too. I don’t think they have their liquor license yet, I hope they get it. Also, located near the Greek Theater, great for pre-show dinner. Service is really friendly but can be just a tad on the slow side.

A perfectly serviceable Italian place in the Los Feliz area of town. The inside of the restaurant is a little kitschy with the red checkered table cloths and varied door knockers feature faces of Caesar or mythical creatures. We were created promptly and got a table from our reservation. Our waiter was nice and gave us recommendations on the food. The bruschetta was nice with the olives. I“m not a fan of olives normally but it worked well with the sweet tomatoes and aromatic basil of the bruschetta. My papardelle pasta was perfectly al dente. The meat mushroom sauce could’ve used more salt and the table salt was there to do just that. Dessert was panna cotta. Both nutella and berry versions. The berry version was better as the nutella hardened on top of the panna cotta making it a little hard to eat. Nice place to get a casual meal in the area.

BYOB and handmade pasta!!! Oh and my 700th review! The byob is not advertised but they allow you to bring alcohol since they do not have a liquor license. Made a phone reservation for 10 a week in advance with no problem. Located in a small plaza, parking is very limited. Small dining area inside and outside. Our table for 10 took up a good chunk of the seating inside. The restaurant itself was very cute and reminded me of eating in Italy. Love the fact they allow you to build your own pasta, you pick your pasta type and a sauce you want with it. They do have a few special pastas already developed. Portion size, we had 10 people, ordered 5 different pastas(2 each), perfect amount of food. BYOB — We brought 10 bottles. They have wine openers and glasses. Bread — They gave us 2 small baskets, complementary. When we wanted more, they said its $ 2.50 but they will fill it up more. Never been told to pay extra for more bread. Bread was good with the balsamic and olive oil. Bruschetta Parma E Brie — $ 9.50 — Huge bruschettas. You get two pieces per order. Ton of prosciutto and brie piled on top. Honey was a nice touch. Fettuccine Nero Di Seppia Al Frutti Di Mare — $ 21.95 — Squid ink fettuccine pasta! Very good pasta with a ton of different seafood. I think I would have preferred a different sauce but the tomato sauce was still good. Fettuccine Verti w/Caruso Sauce — $ 14.95 — My favorite of the pastas we ordered. Spinach noodles had awesome flavor and the creamy mushroom sauce worked perfectly. Gnocchi w/Panna & Funghi Sauce — $ 13.75 — Doughy potato pillows. You can taste the potatoes. This sauce is very similar to the Caruso one but you get a variety of mushrooms in this one. Ravioli Verdi Di Mozzarella w/Ragu Bolognese Sauce — $ 14.95 — My less favorite. Spinach ravioli stuffed with mozzarella cheese. Ravioli was good but I do not think it worked well with the sauce. The sauce itself was a very flavorful bolognese, good tomato and beef mix. Pappardelle w/Etrusca Sauce — $ 13.95 — Pappardelle was perfect and worked perfectly with this sauce. Etrusca is almost exactly like the Ragu Bolognese toped with parmesan. Desserts — Tiramisu — $ 5.95, Crema Carammello — $ 5.95, Cannoli — $ 4.25, Panna Cotta Frutti Di Bosco — $ 5.95 — Good Italian desserts. Was not blown away by any of them but they were good. Favorites were Tiramisu and Cannoli. Cheap handmade pasta and BYOB = good times and good eats.

I cannot express enough how joyful i was after my dinner here. the great experience was due to the deliciousness of every dish and the friendly service that we received. first, you should know about these general bonuses of the restaurant: –free parking in private parking lot –they take reservations –they do not yet have a liquor license(you know that that means…) –they’re conveniently located right next door to a laundry mat. so basically, you can do your laundry while you eat.(jk about this bonus but it might be useful one of these days for someone). what i had: –bruschetta mozzarella: delicious bread toasted with garlic. very light and refreshing. –ragu Bolognese with papperdelle: the flavors were so on point and the pasta was silky and cooked to perfection. i have never finished a pasta dish on the spot before. i am always too full. but as full as i was, i didn’t want to stop enjoying the flavors. this was the star of the dinner for me. –carbonara spaghetti with bacon: this was good… but i think next time i will opt for something else just because there were so many other delicious looking dishes on the menu and also served around us that i think there might be something better offered(like the fettucinne squid link with seafood pasta, which was sold out so ill have to come back for this). so i wouldn’t highly recommend this unless until you’ve tried something on their specialties list(stuff gnocchi for example) i will be back!

FOOD For mouths of two, this is what we ordered. * Bruschetta Parma and Brie($ 9.50): Comes with 2 toast, topped with brie, tomatoes, basil, olives and prosciutto, drizzled with honey! Delicious! * Fettuccine Neto di seppia ai frutti di mare($ 21.95): Squid Ink pasta with Seafood(Mussel, clams, shrimp, scallop, calamari) and Tomato Basil — Enjoyed it a lot. I believe their pasta is freshly made with Italian ingredients! *Gnocchi ripening with panna & funghi($ 15.75) — Gnocchi stuffed with cheese(parmesan, mozzarella gorgonzola and pecorino romano) and the sauce we chose was a creamy sauce with mushrooms. I came to the conclusion that I am not a fan of gnocchi. Don’t get me wrong, it was tasteful, but the texture is too heavy and overwhelming. For those of you who enjoy gnocchi, you might like this but this wasn’t my favorite dish! Overall portions were fair and we were stuffed by the end of dinner. They make fresh pasta daily too! AMBIANCE Such adorable décor, reminds me of an actual Italian restaurant back in Italy. Cute décor and the place it self is small too~. They also have two tables outdoors for 2 – 3 tops! SERVICE I thought the service was quite excellent. The man who took our order was very pleasant and answered any questions we had. They were on top of our water refills. We arrived at 6:45 and it wasn’t too packed. As it got later, customers started coming in. I would recommend to make reservations just in case PARKING They do have a lot but its small. I would recommend finding street parking in the neighboring areas, that’s what I did :) Also, I think they have no corkage if you bring your own bottle!

Lunch on Friday, 2÷6÷15(first time visiting) Gastronomico used to be in this same location. They renovated and it looks like a cozy kitchen at home with red-checkered table cloths and wooden tables. It’s a sit-down and order type of restaurant with daily specials, regular items on the menu, as well as create your own plate with choices of sauces and the pasta(filled or not filled). It’s a casual dining place with no wait in line. They serve fresh bread along with pizza bread and olive oil. I ordered the daily special which comes with three different styles of pasta; classic spaghetti, creamy gnocchi, and spinach fetticini with meat sauce. All the pastas were delicious. I was amazed at the taste of the classic spaghetti. The taste of fresh pasta was soft and I believe it absorbed the taste a little better. I didn’t have room to taste the desserts so I’ll have to come back for that. If you’re in the area, I’d give it a try but otherwise I still enjoy the rigatoni pasta dishes from Il Capricio on Vermont.
