I used to think movies in cemeteries with crazy food trucks were the bomb, but these events are so fantastic, I became a member after the second I attended as guest of member(my boyfriend, #PamperedByPaul). He arranged for us to see both the Willy Wonka show at the Orpheum and the Raiders of The Lost Ark event at Ace Hotel(former United Artist). The point? Cool event with lively audience watching a loved movie and reacting with oohs, ahhs, laughs, awws, and claps and cheering as people’s names and characters appeared on the big screen of amazing architecturally dreamy theaters that have been restored, saved, and preserved. Often they have special guests to speak before the film… film critics, writers, directors, etc. I feel fortunate to have attended two events and hope to attend as many as possible next season. Sign up with LA Conservancy for very affordable membership to stay in the loop(plus you will be supporting restoration and preservation of historical buildings and sites in and around LA). Enrique G and Euni e. are right on the mark with their 5 star evaluations. I completely agree! Elite elite elite experience well worth it!

Such an awesome event every summer! It’s difficult to get access to the historic theatres of downtown Los Angles and they are gorgeous inside! Watching Raiders of the Lost Ark at the United Artist theatre, so exciting!!! LA Conservancy do an amazing job of preserving important buildings please support them!

This has to be one of my favorite events of the year. Each year the LA Conservancy will host movie screenings at multiple historical theaters on Broadway. Why the importance? Well how often do you get the opportunity to view classic films at theaters that are close to a century old. Not only are these theaters historical but they screen the majority of the films in 35 mm which is a rarity. The most spectacular part is prior to the show they open up the theater entirely. It allows the movie patrons to explore the theater from top to bottom. It is truly a gift that LA holds the 2nd largest theater district in the country. With their illuminating neon lights that shine old Broadway in downtown LA, the city comes to life like old times. So put on your cool threads and take your partner in crime or friend to a movie show. Experience the movie like the vintage days of Hollywood. Highly recommend buying tickets in advance when they are first released. This is a popular event and they do sell out. Check out most of the shows as each screening is at a different theater and night. Summer always seems complete with the Last Remaining Seats annual event. Kudos to the organizers.
