We just love this restrant. So friendly and food is fantastic. Every single time we satisfied. Manager is really nice man, we love him. I recommend this restrant very highly. pork dish and yukejyan soop, seafood pancake is to die for it.

Tbh the bossam that everyone raves about here is just generic to me and would give this place 3 stars solely based on its bossam. I have had better bossam outside of la like at ye dang in la habra. This place is nothing from the norm because it doesn’t come with lettuce, sesame leaves, or oysters, whereas other places do. However, because I enjoyed the squid stir fry so much, I bumped this place up to a 4. The stir fry comes out pipping hot on a stone plate and underneath all the goodness, you can find these soft and chewy rice cakes !!! I also ordered the seafood pancake and regret getting this because it was so soggy! I think it would taste better if you re cooked it at home to make it crispy. This place is always packed, so try to come at an awkward time like 2 – 3 pm, unless you don’t mind waiting.

The best bossam spot in Koreatown. Luckily my Mom doesn’t live in Koreatown, so I can safely say that without getting the evil eye from her. She makes the best bossam in the whole wide world. Their menu is full of earthy Korean food, my other favorites are Kimchi Dolshot Bibimbab(sizzling kimchi bibimbab served in hot stone pot) and Haemul Pa Jun(seafood pancake). I haven’t had a bad bite here, so there! The service is prompt and efficient. They offer valet parking, which can be chaotic at times. Nearest Metro Station: Red and Purple Lines at Vermont/Wilshire Station

We had the Bossam(boiled pork with pickled veggies), cold noodles, bibimbop, and mung bean pancake. The pickled veggies gave the pork a nice balance. The cold noodles were spicy and refreshing at the same time. Their dishes are a little more spicy than other LA Korean places that I have tried, and I loved everything we had! If you love pork, you need to come here!

This is my favorite bossam place in Los Angeles! I have been here for both lunch and dinner and I love it! For lunch, they have lunch specials. For Bossam lunch special, you get bossam and Korean miso stew and rice for about $ 11 or so. It is a pretty good deal. Their regular bossam plates are bigger than the lunch special, so you can definitely share with others. They have a lot of other items on the menu. I love their seafood pancake and it is amazing! I highly recommend this place to give a try if you haven’t yet. Service is pretty good, too. Since it is one of famous bossam places in K town, the line gets busy during peak hours. It has its parking lot but it gets busy, so they have valet available on site. If you go earlier or later of the peak times, there is no valet and you can self park though. Features: –We ordered the medium Bosam which had two different kinds of pork, radish, and vegetables to eat the pork with. The meats did not lack flavor as some people have mentioned, at least in my experience. However, I can see what people are trying to say. I think it would definitely be better if they had some kind of dipping sauce to help with deepening the flavor. –It came with four side dishes, kim chee, potatoes, jalapeño and this rice cake thing. The side dishes were okay, nothing too special. –Our call button on the table did not work so we juse used the one next door. They came quickly every time we called so service was not bad. Improvement: –Dipping sauces would be a great addition to making the pork and of course, the dining experience more rich. –More side dishes since the entire meal didn’t quote fill me up. Tips: –Credit cards accepted. –Valet parking in the front. –Order their main dish which is the Bosam. Since the dish did not fill two of us up, I would say order one more thing to ensure a full abdomen before you leave.

I came with my parents and boyfriend and we ordered the medium bossam(at first, so we can get more after, but we didn’t know they stopped doing the order more after, so they allowed us to upgrade to a large without complaint), and the chung gook jang. For four people, this was plenty of food, and we had leftover bossam. The service here is great, they are always checking up on you and refill the side dishes for the bossam, and other sides promptly. The bossam was delicious, as it was extremely tender and warm from being freshly sliced. The sides that the bossam came with were really good and accompanied the flavors of the bossam really well. I didn’t try the chung gook jang, but my parents and boyfriend said it was really good, and enjoyed it a lot. I would definitely try this place out at least once if you’re in the area!

Kobawooooooooooo~ First of all I have to state that I love the bossam style of eating. It’s so enjoyable, healthy, and flavorful! This is arguably my favorite type of Korean food. The pork belly is super tender and super high quality, the kimchi is delectable, and the sides are wonderfully palatable. COMEHUNGRY! The regular size + a side dish is probably enough for 2 normal sized people. If you’re feeling ambitious, go for a large + side for 2 people.(I’ve eaten with some pretty ravenous folks and they struggle with the large) This place is really popular so there is usually some kind of line(some days crazier than others) so prepare to wait a little. The restaurant itself is really cozy with log cabin-esque seating(cute!). Service is really good and attentive as well. Overall 5 resounding stars for Kobawoo House. Come hungry and bring cash for valet parking!

Few Bossam places can outdo Kobawoo. The line and the wait don’t lie. this is as good as it gets! There are many ways to eat pork belly in the Korean cuisine and Kobawoo brings to light what Bossam is supposed to taste like. Kobawoo’s high quality thin pork slices almost taste sweet by itself without any condiment. But that’s not how you eat it. You have to wrap it with the napa cabbage, the kimchi, daikon, or any of the other vegetables accompanied the dish. It may come as a surprise that the meat is not steamy hot upon arrival — rather it’s at room temperature. Get the medium for 2 people but large for at least 4 people. Seafood pancake(Haemul Pajeon) — is it the best that I ever had? No, but it’s pretty good and I almost always get it here every time I come. Yum! Parking is always a hassle in such a small lot and valet will cost you at least $ 2. Street parking can be tough to find since there are so many eateries surrounding this area. Kobawoo House is a great place to introduce people to Bossam and the Korean cuisine.

Yum! Been eyeing this place for a while because the pictures look damn good but I was always worried about a long wait. Came here with 2 others on a Saturday night around 8pm and only waited 20 minutes, yay! FOOD: — medium bossam — HAD to get the bossam! Perfect balance of meat and fatty pork goodness, the medium size is served with napa cabbage, spicy kimchi(I think) and pickled jalapenos. Assemble your wrap with whatever you want to stuff in there and chow down! — seafood pancake — this was pretty pricy, but it’s also the thickest and fluffiest seafood pancake I’ve ever had. Flavorwise, it was on the bland side and didn’t have a ton of seafood in it. Would not get again. SERVICE: Friendly and pretty fast! The servers speak pretty good english and there’s the push button on the table if you need anything. Also, if you order lemon with your soju(and you should) they do the soju cap trick to drill a hole in the lemon for you. VENUE/PARKING: Venue is pretty not cramped. We were seated in a roomy booth with plenty of room. Bathroom is clean, single stall. AC was on FULL blast when we were there, good thing we had on jackets(and soju) or else we would’ve turned into popsicles. There is a parking lot — valet, but we metro-ed over and walked here. Yummy! Would definitely come back!

First time trying bossam and was a great experience! Does get busy so come early to get a seat! Ordered the large bossam and it was interesting at first trying to figure out how to eat it correctly. I’d like to apologize to the people I looked at who were eating… Pork belly was great and there was plenty to go around. You can ask for more cabbage and radish too! Spicy cold noodles weren’t bad. thought the ration of veggies to noodles were off though. Also if you cannot handle spice, I recommend you grab the noodles first before it all soaks in the sauce. Definitely would come back here again too! Service was also good.

I came here with some coworkers and friends. and I don’t know exactly what we ate, but everything was amazing. The seafood-pancake particularly was delicious. I know there was a giant platter of boiled pork along with added veggies to make your own«wrap» with the daikon… that was good too. To keep things brief. literally, we ate. everything. and everything. was amazing. Need I say more? I also discovered the black raspberry wine here, and is now one of my fave drinks.

BESTBOSSAM I’ve ever had!!! If you’ve never tried bossam, you are in for a unique treat. It’s a traditional Korean dish composed of boiled pork belly sliced into thin pieces which you can wrap in napa cabbage along with spicy shrimp paste, jalapeño, and pickled radish. DELISH! Kobawoo is famous for their bossam although they have various other Korean dishes as well. My husband and I came here for dinner and we shared the medium bossam. I’d recommend this size if you have 2 people and aren’t TOO hungry. We devoured it all and left feeling satisfied. I loved the pickled radishes and the quality of the pork. Get ready for an explosion of flavor! Savory, spicy, pickly, porky, cold & hot, crunchy & soft. It all tastes so good together! Wash it all down with an ice cold Hite in CHILLEDMUGS. AHHHYESSS… Service was quick, polite and friendly! Parking: valet in the lot $ 1.50

This is the place to get your bossam(steamed pok belly). If you go with a bigger party than two, you will have to wait on most nights. I love how they provide more than the average fixings. A medium order of the bossam which is perfect for two comes with the bossam, napa cabbage, mixed spicy radish slaw, slices of pickled daikon radish, pickled jalapeño and spicy shrimp paste. At first I tried the bossam with each of the sides separately because I thought all the flavors wouldn’t work well together, but damn was I wrong. When I added everything into one big ssam(wrap), all the flavors harmonized perfectly. We also ordered the makkoli(Korea rice wine) which is a poplular drink that Koreans like to pair with bossam. It’s milky and slightly sweet with a hint of effervescence. It came in this huge clay pot that was kept cold in the freezer. It was literally frozen. I really appreciated how they went that extra mile to ensure optimal enjoyment of the makkoli. As with most Korean joints, they have the bell-service system here. If you need assistance, just push the button on the side of your table. Don’t be shy– it’s not considered rude in Korean culture. HOWEVER, use your own discretion… don’t get TOO trigger happy and try to place as much as your order in one stop because it does get really busy in there.

I knew it was going to be a good joint when I came here and it had a waiting line of locals on a Sunday night. Coming in, a good chunk of the waiters cannot speak English very well, so be aware of that – our waiter passed us over to the English speaking one. We wanted to try all the specials, but we alas we only had stomach for two: Bossam(M): This is a simple dish, but oddly satisfying as you can taste the tenderness of the pork belly and relish in the crunchy textures of the kimchi and cabbage. Seafood pancake: Our fave joint for haemul pajeon! I wish it was slightly crunchier on the outside, like how Toe Bang makes it, but its thickness and the fact that its jam packed with seafood makes it understandably hard to achieve. I absolutely love all the different seafoods – mussel, shrimp, squid, imitation crab – and the flavor was spot on. We killed this dish FAST! Overall, I definitely need to come again. I really want to try their acorn noodles, as well as the other foods they offer. Totally recommend this location!

I really like this spot. The valet people aren’t so nice though. Anyway, this is the best bossam spot to go too, if you are craving that steamed pork with some amazing spicy marinated radish with jalepenos. Mmmm, so you take the cabbage, then place the meat, which is perfectly cooked. then some radish and jalepenos, wrap it up and eat it. I also recently tried their soybean paste stew. YUM. One of the best stew I had in a while. I highly recommend their Seafood Pancake as well. It is delicious, crispy on the outside soft in the inside. I just bumped it down to 4 stars because everytime I eat here, I end up having the worst stomach problems… But I still love this place.

I came here following a recommendation from Connie S. The bossam is their most popular dish. It’s basically cabbage, radish, kimchee and pork belly rolled together(some assembly required). It’s amazingly delicious, and I would be coming back soon! Although, I think take out from here might be a better option, since there seems to always be a long line! The bossam is served cold, making it idea for takeout! I found the seafood pancake just okay, it was pretty standard and nothing special. The staff is friendly, and service is prompt! There’s a small valet parking lot, and lots of meter parking!

OMG the bossam here. Delish. My favorite bossam house in Los Angeles. FOOD — 5 stars 1. Omg, the one thing you must order is the bossam(5⁄5 stars). Medium size is good for 2 for dinner portion; juicy, sweet, soft pieces of boiled pork belly. Sometimes the bossam even comes out steaming so you know they make it constantly and it’s not just sitting there getting cold. They give you napa cabbage, pink thin slices of radish wraps, radish kimchi, jalepenos, and homemade shrimp sauce that tastes absolutely nothing like what other restaurants offer. You can wrap your bossam in either the napa cabbage or the pink radish, or eat it simply by itself. No words to describe it, just have to try it yourself. If you don’t like the taste of fat, then I suggest you try some other Korean restaurant and steer away from bossam in general. 2. Another dish I’ve tried are the seafood pancake which is amazing(5⁄5 stars); really thick and has a nice texture, full of fresh seafood. Most restaurants make their seafood pancakes much smaller and thinner, with less ingredients. 3. Doenjang jjigae(4.5÷5 stars): made really healthy and you can taste it. Love the generous portions of ingredients used — mushrooms, tofu, etc. A nice soup dish to eat with your bossam. 4. Stir fried calamari(3.5÷5 stars): Pretty great, thick flavors — a little bit spicy. The calamari is just a little tough though, hence the 4 and not 5 stars. They put in dokkbukki, which is one of the softest I’ve had… so good. The other ingredients are just average; carrots, onions, etc. Overall pretty good but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to order again here. 5. Makgeolli(5⁄5 stars): BESTPLACETOGETYOURMAKGEOLLI. They mix it so it’s not just straight from those plastic bottles you can buy at the korean grocery market. Tastes thicker, stronger, creamier and better. They also give it to you in a clay style pot with a wooden ladle and clay bowls to drink out of which of course just makes it that much better and genuine. I always, always get the makgeolli when I come here, it’s second to the bossam. SERVICE — 4 stars It’s a small Korean restaurant so be prepared to wait long lines unless you come at odd hours. I came on a Sunday at 5:30PM and had to still wait a good 30+ minutes for 2 people. Service is pretty good but kind of slow sometimes due to being so busy. Nothing particularly stands out. PARKING — 3 stars Average. Valet parking for $ 1.50. I guess in Ktown it’s better valet than fend for yourself street parking huh? OVERALL – Yep it’s a favorite. Coming back whenever I have money to spare. It is a little on the pricey end, but you get what you pay for! Quality over quantity.
