Not that great. Heard a lot of hype but It was mediocre. Home cooking is better than this place.

My hubby celebrated his 45th and we had our party catered by Kalesa Grill. They do not disappoint at all In fact, they over delivered with quality great food. It was our first time trying bellychon and it was heavenly succulent! Our guests were super excited to try it. The skin was crunchy and the meat was soft well seasoned goodness. We had two kinds of noodles, bihon & palabok. About 4 different chicken dishes: afritada, curry, inasal and friend chicken. We had calamari & sweet and sour fish; Beef kare-kare and beef steak; SISIG was a big hit along with bicol express and pinakbet. For dessert we ordered leche flan, biko, sapin-sapin & the star of the show was the great selection of hopia. No one else has this kind of yummy goodness with flaky crust and real halaya for the ube hopia. It’s really worth stopping by and trying some. They deliver so it makes it so convenient for busy working families. Ask for Gerry next time you stop by!

Disappointed ordered boneless lechon. Most fat only. Chicken dry and salty. Expensive

Kalesa Grill exceeds all Filipino Restaurants in the Valley — in terms of Taste, Price and Customer Service.(ive been to all) I would highly recommend their Catering Packages. I have used them several times in the last couple of years and never have they failed in being punctual, and delivering hot and best tasting food. I have recently included the Cebuchon in my last catering order and it was a hit. Everyone loved it — even my non-Filipino friends. Must Try: Cebuchon, Pancit Malabon, Crispy Pata, Pork Eggrolls(Lumpiang Shanghai), beef mechado and their sweet and sour fish. I can go on and on. Everything here is delicious! Don’t even let me start with the desserts. Lastly and most important thing is they serve clean food. You can tell that the servers are well-trained and know a lot about safe food handling.

Just was not so impress with choice of food. The food okay, need more flavoring. I have fried chicken, it was little over cook. The calamari was also over cooked too. My friends were not impressed with it too.

This place is literally down the street from my house and it was my first time eating here. I got some ground pork with the rice, an egg roll, and a cheese pastry. It was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going here alot. I originally wanted pancit but that’s ok I was truly satisfied with the choices the gentleman recommended. I will definitely be eating here more often.

Most amazing hopia and pandesal in all of the San Fernando Valley. Once you try Kalesa Grill’s hopia, you will never go anywhere else. Their hopia is encased in a flaky buttery pastry, while the filling varies in ube, yellow bean, and pandan are perfectly soft. Their pandesal is fluffy like rustic bread with a buttery crispy crust. Unlike the dense pandesals found everywhere else. I will definitely be back.

I come here once in a while, but last week I caught them trying to cheat on their customer — I ordered pancit bihon and noticed it was not fresh any more but more of a re-cooked leftover 1-day old bihon. I called the attention of their sprvsr, I think, and he immedietely replaced the bihon with another of my choice, fact is he knew it was no longer fresh and probably tried to get away with it and make more money! A$$h¥£€ Filipino mentality!!! I’m trying to tell people about them!

*** Updated review. Kalesa just bumped up to 4.5−5 stars. Came in today and they’re expanding their space. Still hot inside but at least there are more tables to eat on, and they appear to be new and clean, yaaaay!

Kalesa Grill definitely lives up to traditional Filipino cuisine. From the huge television casting TFC to the enormous table of various Hopia, Kalesa Grill is a place I would most likely visit again. The portion sizes of food are very generous and the pricing is very cheap. My favorites included Dinuguan and the Ginataan. I have yet to try the breakfast and the Filipino pizza(wow, galing!) It’s definitely a good place to bring a couple of friends just to touch the Filipino roots through food! Special thanks to Jerry Mercado!

I came for the lechon and I wasn’t disappointed. Vegetable lumpia is also pretty good. Pleasantly surprised to see Spanish bread. Also has a wide variety of desserts. Will be back for more!

I just paid $ 14 for a 2 item breakfast plate(tapa and longanisa) and a sago and gulaman drink for take out. $ 14! The Good Tapa was tender Portions were decent Closest Filipino food spot for me The Bad Food was bland even with the vinegar sauce The sago and gulaman syrup was too sweet and only had the sago(boba) The sago was undercooked and tough Cost I had high hopes that this place would be my reg spot for Filipino breakfasts but I’ll stick to driving a lil farther and just eat at Chowking or Nanay Gloria. I’ll give them one more chance and try their non breakfast items. Their lechon roll looked good when I was there.

Their hopias are the bomb! Alot of variety and their my favorite is the ube and buco pandan. They also serve regular Filipino dishes such as sisig, lumpia, lechon, adobo to name a few. My only gripe about this place is when it gets busy, there is limited seating and sometimes ordering food can have long lines. Low staffing because most of the time there’s only two people at the front and the rest are cooks. Other than that the food is OK but it is the hopia that is a gem at this place.

So, this isn’t my first time as a customer here. I like their fresh baked pan de sal. But their other food, especially towards the end of the day are really stale and seems a day or two old. Tonight I tried asking the girl, who by the way seem irritated that I didn’t speak her language,. She never really even answered me. The food for the price was disappointing. Yes it is stale, for a fraction of a price I would pay Panda Express who always serves fresher and delicious Asian food. I’d recommend their pan de sal, but not their other dishes, maybe if you’re desperate for any Filipino food, but get it somewhere else, Or better yet, cook it yourself.

Great Filipino food. I am very picky when it comes to Filipino food and I always look for the authentic taste that I grew up with. They have affordable catering bundles. Hopias are amazing especially the ube one. If I’m craving for some Filipino grub I’d rather go here and it’s cheap. Dinuguan is really good and I know how hard to make that one perfect and their pork belly Lechon is mouthwatering.

I love their boneless lechon that they call porchetta(did I spell it right? lol) in a birthday party I attended to. It tastes so much like the real thing or maybe better but without the bones. How cool is that?! Another thing that surprised me is how great their hopias are. Growing up in Binondo and living in LA, I would never in my life thought that I would grab some freshly baked hopias that tastes like home. Makes me reminisce my childhood years.
