My last night of vacation, and I wanted to finish it with some self-spoiling. The lobster bisque was wonderful, with several large pieces of meat in it. My long island was expensive but very tasty. I didnt realize my T-bone would be over an inch thick! But it was cooked to medium perfection, lots of flavor. My only negative is that I thought my steak knife could use some sharpening. Most of the steak fell apart, but parts where I did use the knife, I was really sawing down on it, and there really wasnt that much gristle in the meat. Some of the steak followed me back to my hotel, but thats to be expected for it being 22oz. A slice of cheesecake wonderfully finished the meal. The frosting topping it could have been done without, as it takes away from the rich cheesecake flavor.

My party and I initially decided to come here because we wanted lamb and did not want to drive in LA traffic to go looking for a steakhouse that served lamb. So we went downstairs to a dimly lit, very elegant restaurant. Our waiter was a pleasant and enthusiastic man, though he claimed that everything was delicious(not particularly true). For starters we had the lobster bisque. It tasted like a gelatinous mess. It was very thick, bland, and tasted nothing like lobster. Next time, I would definitely steer clear from it. For our main course, each of us had the Colorado Rack of Lamb, which comes in a balsamic glaze. I had my dish prepared medium well and I enjoyed it very much. It was not as tender as I would have liked it to be, but it was packed with flavor and very juicy. The glaze tasted like a sweet gravy. I ordered a side of mash potatoes and it really complimented the lamb. I would recommend just ordering one, maybe two, sides for 2 – 3 people as the sides are quite large(trust me I can eat a lot of food). For dessert we had the crème brûlée and it was delicious as well. It was not overly sweet and the sugar coating was just thick enough. Overall, if I were to come back I would steer clear of the lobster bisque and just stick to what I came there for, the lamb.

Worst service ever. I have rarely been this disappointed in a restaurant. 3 tables filled. And 35 minute wait to see a member of the wait staff. Kitchen was lovely but avoid it.

Excellent service and great food. Split NY strip with daughter. Delicious! We used free dessert offer and had no problem at all.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at the JW Steakhouse yesterday. From start to finish our experience was amazing. Our server Augustin, was such a gracious host. He offered knowledgable suggestions, inquired about our taste preferences and recommended magnificent choices from the menu. His kind and friendly demeanor made our experience truly memorable. All of the food offered was spectacular! Not surprising, however, the stars of our dinner were the steaks. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, they were simply amazing! Thank you, JW Steakhouse for a great night!

This was a fabulous meal. Was at the hotel for a conference, and it was just simpler to dine in rather than fighting LA traffic to go out for dinner. Based on other Unilocal reviews, came here for dinner. The lobster bisque was fantastic, as were the crab cakes. The rib eye was cooked to perfection, and the brussels sprouts were great too. Great value for the meal. Very good, and excellent service. Absolutely not sorry we didn’t leave the hotel.

I wasn’t expecting much from a steakhouse in the lobby of a Marriot, but WOW, JW’s absolutely blew my family and I away. We were the first guests in for the night, so even though we had a reservation, we didn’t really need it. We were seated immediately and brought waters. Décor: Pretty typical upscale steakhouse décor… Mood lighting, cool cork drink menus, and simple decorations adorned JW’s. I wasn’t in awe over how beautiful it was or how cool the surroundings were, but it was clean and classy. Service: Amazing! Our waiter was super nice and I mentioned the free dessert with Unilocal check-in and I’m not sure if that made the chef treat us spectacular or what, because after I showed my check-in, we received a complimentary garlic shrimp appetizer that was BOMB. At this point there were already three guests, so I’m not sure if it was because we were the first in, or because of Unilocal… Either way, it was so nice and SUPER good. The waiter was attentive to our needs the entire dinner and wasn’t pushy about ordering anything extra. Food: I’m not lying when I say that this is quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my entire life. My stepdad and I ordered the Prix Frie menu which was delicious! The first course was a lobster bisque — it was nice and peppery, had a great consistency, and chunks of lobster meat. The main course was a filet cooked to perfection, garlic shrimp, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Everything about the main course was mouthwatering and I could probably eat it everyday of my life. The last course was a chocolate layered cake, which had a GREAT mousse layered in between chocolate cake. With our Unilocal check-in we chose the crème brûlée to try, which again JW’s knocked out of the park. Amazing. Both desserts were covered in fresh strawberries and blueberries. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back in this area again, but if I was, JW’s would definitely be my dinner of choice. If you’re staying at the Marriot, you HAVE to try this place.

Extremely good service and food. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. The waiter, I’m sorry I don’t remember his name, gave my wife and daughter complementary desserts on the house. I really recommend it for anybody who likes a good steak.

First time coming here and it was fantastic! Great service by Augustin. Started with the bruschetta which was a build-it-yourself presentation, with lots of lovely cherry tomatoes, sliced and dressed with balsamic, basil and shallots, with little balls of fresh mozzarella, and little crostinis that were perfectly toasted. We didn’t need to order a vegetable as there were so many tomatoes. My wife and I both ordered the petite filet and both were cooked perfectly and delicious. The red wine reduction and Hollandaise sauces were excellent, as was the side of garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were rustic, with some of the red skin left in, and not overly mashed, which is how we like them. Took a piece of the chocolate cake back to our room for a sweet snack later in the evening and it was good also. We would not hesitate to come here again and will recommend it to friends traveling out of LAX.

Absolutely impeccable service and delicious food. This is the kind of place where the smallest details are taken care of, including a little basket of fresh, warm bread. My steak was tender, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. The garlic mashed potatoes are served family style and offer a great counterpoint to the richness of the steak. The chocolate cake was also impressive and an excellent ending to the meal. I recommend a reservation beforehand just in case the hotel gets crowded. There were a few large parties, so keep that in mind too.

I was truly amazed. From start to finish, the prixfixe was superb. It makes me want to pass many other LA opportunities, and eat in a hotel. Total surprise :).

+Came here for a function. +Really wasn’t too hungry walking in. +Saw the huge steak that was put before me and thought no way could I eat all of that. +To my surprise, I ate it all because it was so melt-in-your-mouth. +Comfy accommodations. +Friendly service. +I can’t complain or relate to the price because I didn’t pay and that made it even better!

Food is good but overpriced for what hits the table Well martini $ 12 $ 16 for 4 regular sized shrimp in a shrimp cocktail. 6 oz filet by itself at $ 38. Next size up steak is $ 42 Add a veggie? $ 8 Wines are 3x over retail cost. Salad $ 11 for 4 pieces of romaine lettuce and a few pieces of Parmesan cheese Yes service is ok and atmosphere is nice but for the price id say head to a top notch steak house. Should be rated $$$$ not $$$

Delicious food and huge serving sizes. We ordered the t-bone with spinach salad and it was magic! NB — the chocolate mousse dessert is always good so save room.

We stopped in 2 nights in a row. Staying at the hotel this was a nice easy spot to go to. Night 1 we had appetizers and a bottle of champagne. Celebrating a work milestone. The appetizers were more than enough for a meal. Night 2 was steak and a glass of wine You can’t go wrong with a good steak– I would have liked more help on my wine selection as I didn’t love what I picked but it worked High end food and cooking

Not worth it. I ordered the dry aged New York and this WASNOT a dry aged steak. It tasted like any normal NY you’d buy at the grocery store and $ 42 I expected more than an under seasoned steak with two sliced cherry tomatoes and parsley. It was cooked correctly just was a big let down. The French onion soup was awful. Watered down and salty. The place did have a solid wine list especially for an airport hotel I’ll give it that and service was good hence two stars. The marketing and other positive reviews on here would make you think to try it here. Don’t fall for it! If your in the mood for good steak or seafood spend the cab fare to a nicer nearby restaurant than pay top $$ for a huge let down here. Marriott I hope you read this and look into it. I’m not a fan of being mislead by a product you don’t actually serve.

A hop, skip & jump from our place we thought we would give this place a try for date night since we had a $ 20 OpenTable gift certificate to use. We were definitely not disappointed! Bread basket was great and the herbed butter was AMAZING! The service was old school stellar… Vuk was super attentive but not intrusive and very thoughtful. My husband and I chose to share an appetizer(crab cake) and a baked potato and they both came to the table on separate plates already divied up… a nice touch that we really appreciated. I started with a glass of white blend(fruity but yummy) to have with our crab cake which was excellent… all flaky crab meat with very little filler plus they grilled a lemon half so that the juice was warm when squeezed on top… another nice touch! My husband ordered the filet with au poivre sauce(not quite peppercorny enough) along with a nice house cab and I had the flat iron with a red wine sauce that was slightly too sweet. I was glad the sauces both came on the side as I wouldn’t have appreciated my meat doused in it. The baked potato was very large and came with a salt crust on the skin and the most delicious sour cream that was studded with large chunks of chives. A few sauteed string beans were on each plate thankfully to give us our greens for the evening ;) Loved the tiny open kitchen! I loved that you could order each dessert as a mini serving… it allowed us to do a nice tasting trio of chocolate mousse, pistachio gelato and crème brûlée(the BEST I have ever had!)…however, I was very sad that their espresso machine was not working as I would have loved a cappuccino but we settled for some nice strong coffee instead. It’s a classic dark, quiet steakhouse atmosphere with definite steakhouse prices… with the $ 20 off it was around $ 120 before tip. Valet parking was FREE with validation and the service there was excellent as well! We were satisfied with the experience for sure!

Patty is the greatest for helping me out with my toddler! And kudos to the additional staff for the best steak I have had since I have been visiting Los Angeles. Flavorful, tender and the juiciest piece of meat… omg, is it getting hot in here… yes it is!!! It was that good. I recommend and I will be back!
