Although I didn’t eat at the actual location, I feel this review is necessary. I attended the Mustang event at the Petersen Automotive Museum on 5⁄4 and the VIP lounge buffet was catered by Johnny Rockets. Turkey Burgers and Beef Burgers were visible but not veggie burgers. This was disappointing since I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who avoided meat. I’m not sure who the man in the light blue shirt was(possibly the manager), but he was extremely catering and helpful. I didn’t think it’d hurt to throw out the fact that I wanted a veggie burger. He asked me how many and told me he would make me a couple and bring them to me. I didn’t expect him to remember since the crowd was increasing by the minute. 10 – 15 minutes later, there he is. Veggie burgers in hand coming to our table. I’ve never been more shocked and satisfied. I was able to eat and enjoy the rest of the event, without having to spend more money out of my pocket. Definitely was an overall great day that I truly believe Johnny Rockets contributed to. On top of that, their veggie burger is really good. Coupled with some onion rings, I was set! Thank you!

Came here about two weeks ago. I walked through the restaurant with a stroller to the lobby as directed at the sign. It’s very hard to squeeze through the booths with a stroller. The older gentlemen at the front said something incoherent about us leaving and walked away. He came back later after we had been standing there a while to be seated. He said he thought we were done eating. I said we just arrived how could we be done eating? He went on. Rather than argue I said«never mind» and asked to sit in the front to park my stroller. He seemed bothered that my 3-year-old wanted to grab his own straw. He later took the straws off our table. We received a menu and that was it. We waited for some time and no one was coming so I took my son to the restroom. I couldn’t change my other son because there was not a changing table. We came back and still no service. Finally I was acknowledged by a server in the kitchen who said they’d be with me shortly. That didn’t happen either. I noticed that everyone was pretty much eating so it was frustrating not to be waited on. It’s difficult having a hungry kid and a baby, and trying to explain that we have to wait. It’s worse telling that hungry child that we have to leave. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had.

This location is at the Peterson Automobile Museum, on Wilshire Blvd. Some of the dishes comes with«bottomless fries»(free refills) but the fries are frozen style, not fresh cut, so aren’t bad but not amazing. The portion they start you out with is that of a sub-side order, so don’t feel guilty asking for more. I had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, opting to try something other than their Burgers which I’ve had before and aren’t bad. The sandwich was decent, not spectacular and edible and fulfilling, just not necessarily awe inspiring. It’s a decent option to eat at but is tucked away and feels a bit secluded and inside doesn’t have the old throwback café vibe as other Johnny Rockets. Maybe because I went off hours on a Sunday, but it lacked energy. The service was on par, no outstanding above and beyond, but also not neglectful nor rude either. Parking is the proverbial«it is what it is» for the area, located near LACMA and La Brea… however if you know how to find parking and can walk, go to Crescent Heights for street parking a few blocks over

I just had a route 66 burger with a chicken breast. It was really bad. I could’t even finish it. In addition to a terrible burger I had the worst fries ever made. Its quite hard to ruin fries, isn’t it? I am completely dissatisfied with the experience and I promise myself never to go there again. The place is so dead and it looks like business is not really going. I am not surprised at all. P. s. The one on hollywood highland is not bad at all. After an hour, I couldn’t stop vomiting. I have never had an experience like this before. Take care of your stomach and don’t go there.

We ate lunch here while touring the Peterson Museum. The experience started off a little sketchy and I thought we were in for a long tough wait, but suddenly one of the waiters took off like a «Johnny Rocket» and gave us exceptional service. The food was good although I think I’ll have them hold the sweet relish off my burger next time. It was a good experience.

This Johnny rockets is pretty busy because it’s inside a museum. It’s a pretty good size dining room. What I noticed was that it’s a little more unorganized and dirty. I don’t think they have enough staff to keep up with the customer turn over they have from the museum. The food is good, pretty much the same as any other Johnny rockets. The staff is nice and give good service. I noticed it was only guys working at the time my family and I ate there. It’s convenient it’s inside the museum but they need more staff to keep it nice and clean.

One fine day. Came here on Museum Day a pretty crowded Sunday afternoon. But I was immediately served at the bar. Great service. Great prices and excellent burger! Love the fries! Quick and easy.

I am glad that the Petersen has a Johnny Rockets. It’s not my favorite restaurant chain, but it’s nice to have a sit-down option, instead of the usual museum cafeteria that’s grossly overpriced. My boyfriend and I went here for a late lunch, after being part of the Sunday Breakfast Car Show and touring the museum. It was busy, but not overly crowded and we received very fast service. The food is good, like all Johnny Rockets. It’s nothing amazing, but solid for basic offerings. I had a tuna fish sandwich with fries and was happy. .

The Houston burger and the bacon cheese fries were excellent at this retro burger joint(and Peterson’s Automotive Museum is right next door!).

This Johnny Rockets is located inside the Peterson Automotive Museum and can be conveniently accessed from either the museum or a separate street entrance. I went simple and ordered the original burger. For some reason I thought it tasted better than burgers I’ve had at other Johnny Rocket locations. Tasty beef and fresh lettuce, pickles and tomato made this a pleasure to eat. Delicious fries too. But the staff had less artistic skill than a 3-year-old with their traditional ketchup smiley face on the fries plate. The restaurant was extremely clean and service was efficient and friendly.

I have been eating at Johnny Rockets at what seems like forever. Like most chains you can expect to get consistent good food. This Johnny Rockets is in my neighborhood so this spot is a local favorite of mine when I had a craving for a burger. I think its attached to the Peterson Museum so probably get a lot of business from that and the locals. I feel like many people think its in an odd location. Went here not that long ago and like always had a good burger and a shake. If you come here and like shakes you’d be crazy not to get one! I love the vanilla shake so much. The service is quick and all the servers have been nothing but super nice and professional.

Simple less is more menu, with quick and friendly service. I’m always tempted by the shakes, but figure eating chili cheese fries is enough calories for one day! This location is really unique being attached to the awesome Petersen Automotive Museum for a unique ambiance and patio seating right on the corner of Miracle Mile and Museum Row(Wilshire and Fairfax). Before JR opened up at this location, it was a room with vending machines, like a quik-e-mart for snacks. Big step up!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at this Johnny Rockets as we were waiting for sunset. I wanted to wait for the lights to turn on at LACMA, and decided to grab a bite to eat. Service was very slow on a Thursday night. There was only two workers, one chef, one waiter. It took forever for the waiter to come take our order, and another 15 minutes for us to get our food. Mind you, I was starving… but it happened to be the OKC vs Spurs game 2 so I was entertained while waiting. The food was just like any other Johnny Rocket’s. I got the Houston Burger plus onion rings. I love onion rings. I was in such a great mood that day, but if I werent, I wouldnt be happy with the service at this location. Plus they had a bunch of balloons at the entrance. I dont like balloons.

I had lunch here after my visit to the Petersen. First off let me say that I did not experience the lack of service that I see in some of the reviews, maybe the problem has been rectified? Whatever the case I had a good experience here. I ordered two new items, Sliders(three small burgers), and Bacon Cheese Fries. My drink(Root Beer) was brought right away and my food order was ready in about 10 minutes. I enjoyed both items and the waitress checked by a couple of times to see how I was doing. My check was brought out and processed right away and I was on my way. I had a good experience with both the food and service at Johnny Rockets!

A trip back in time. Imagine you are in the 40’s or 50’s or 60’s or 70’s or 80’s(for some maybe the 90’s is history) and the cars in the museum are in the parking lot and you are getting a burger fries and a shake. Enjoy your imagination, enjoy the museum and enjoy Johnny Rocket.(and Unilocal and four square discounts — one for to go and one for eat in) The music is a nickel and they will give you the nickels! Enjoy, take a cruise down memory lane, no matter how short or long your memory is! The Burger with grilled mushrooms and onions was done perfectly, the shake with that bit extra in the big metal cup, the whipped crème on top, and nice fries including a happy face in ketchup in the dipping bowl! Bottomless fries for those enhancing their waistline! Walk a bit in the museum, have lunch, and walk some more in the museum. It is a real treat!(tip use elevator to third floor, bigger and less used restrooms) For extra fun dress for your period and go to the museum and Johnny Rocket!

This Johnny Rockets is connected to the Petersen Auto Museum. The location makes it great for anyone that is looking for a quick bite to eat. The only item I ordered were the American Fries. The fries were not great. Not a whole lot of taste except for fried potato and oil(no salt, no pepper). I found out through another Unilocal review that the fries are bottomless, similar to Red Robin. It would have been great if the waitress told us it was bottomless(although we would not have eaten any more for lack of taste). If given a choice, I would choose the bottomless steak fries at Red Robin are better. Overall, service deserves 4 out of 5 stars. Currently if you are check into Unilocal, you will also receive 10% off to-go orders. It would have been great if the waitress told us that too b/c one of our friends just got a to-go order.

I don’t frequent these sort of establishments — not that there is anything wrong with them, but I prefer healthier food on a regular basis. But sometimes I want a good old-fashioned milkshake and Johnny knows just how to make ‘em. They definitely get an extra star for being located within the Petersen. On our way out of the museum we stopped to grab an oreo strawberry shake and let me tell you it was creamy, sweet and yummy. I’m not giving more stars as it took FOREVER for us to be acknowledged while trying to order to-go. I don’t really understand what that was about. I recommend getting the kids shake. It’s just enough to fill your sweet craving without feeling like you consumed a gallon of ice cream.

Came here for dinner after going to the Shecky’s girls night out event. Who knew there was a diner like spot right in the museum?! Pretty cool to get to walk past old mint condition cars while hopping in to get some food. Service was on point and the burger and fries were delish. The wiater was accomodating to one of our friends who had a special order. It would be nice if the burgers weren’t cooked all the way through, you know a little on the medium side but they were still great!

Quixk service with a smile. My strawberry shake was amazing as always. This was my first time ordering something other then chili cheese fries from Johnny Rockets and I was not dissapointed. Ordered the smokehouse single and the bacon on it was to die for. I think the burger would have been better with just BBQ sauce instead of a BBQ/ranch mixture but that’s no fault of this particular establishment. Not my first choice of resturaunt but I’d have no problem coming back if I didn’t want to walk further to other eateries.
