Okay, this is officially my new favorite Korean restaurant! If you know me at all, this holds a lot of weight, because I’m a true Korean foodie. If I don’t eat Korean at least once a day, my stomach just doesn’t feel right. A true Korean ahjuhshi I am. Anyway, I’ve tried three different dishes here and they are the three best of it’s kind in all of K-town. Let me break it down. Sul lung tang(Beef soup): This is my go to. My hangover meal. I can and do eat this 3 to 4 times a week. I’ve tried them all(Han Bat, Yang Ban, Young Dong, Surawon) and this my favorite! The broth is super rich, like it’s been cooking for days. The meat is great quality, served with dipping sauce. And their kkakduki and kimchi(pickled radish and cabbage), which makes or breaks the sul lung tang is on point. Best sul lung tang in LA! Bossam(Braised pork belly): This is one of my favorite Korean dishes. Again, I’ve tried some of the best in LA(Kobawoo, Gam Ja Gol, Mr. Bossam), and this place is special. They bring the bossam and steam it on a bed of buchu leaves on your table. It comes out perfectly tender and tasty. Soo Yook(Boiled beef): All sorts of different parts of beef cooked on a pot of beef broth. Meat is absolutely tender. They add udon noodles after to the broth for a perfect finish. The service is great. The owners are always there and really take care of their customers. They are not too busy as the restaurant has only been open a few months, so there’s no waiting and plenty of seating. Anyone who tries their food will not be disappointed!

I have been to many Sul lung tang and Soo Yook places all over Korea Town but this place is a hidden gem that many people don’t know about yet. Once people start to realize how good this place is, this place is going to explode. In my opinion it is better than the small and crowded, Han Bat. The restaurant has plenty of seats and plenty of parking. The other cool thing about this place is that they serve alcohol and also has a plethora of other items on their menu. The owners here are very nice and very attentive to your needs. Check this place out and you will know exactly what I am talking about. One other thing I would like to mention is that the comment left below by Chowder K is complete nonsense. I don’t think he knows what good Sul lung tang tastes like. This is my go to place right now and everyone that has come with me, completely agrees that this is the best Sul lung tang place in K town.

I guess I have to go against the review from Chowder K below. I honestly thought Sulungtang was good. The broth didn’t taste like they put MSG in there. It was very clean. I ordered cold noodles, which I really enjoyed. Reminded me of Yu Chun. The broth was sweet and sour, perfect for my taste. Noodles were chewy and cooked well. I didn’t need to put extra vinegar in there. My boyfriend ordered Yu Gye Jang, which was on the lunch special. It was only $ 9.99 and for my cold noodles it was $ 8.99. The side dishes were also very delicious. You can’t compare it Hanbat Sulungtang… Overall, my experience here was great. I will be coming back to try other dishes. But, I know that I found one of my favorite cold noodle spots.

My family was out in ktown for thanksgiving, and decided to give this place a try because we were craving bossam. When we walked in, we were greeted by who seemed to be the owner. We were quickly seated, and he explained their specialty and what we should try, and so on. We ended up getting bossam, sooyook, and fried soondae. All of them were so good! And good banchan as well. Price is a bit on the higher side but they are worth it. We will definitely be back.

It is best in k-town. Also, they open until 12:00am. You have to try boiled beef slice hot pot.

If you want a funny experience, come here. Oh man. So this place is the definition of Korean. It is very… Authentic. The ambience is very amazing and it captures the Korean culture very well due to its colors, décor, music, and pretty much everything about it. As soon as we entered, we noticed a middle aged Korean man sleeping on a counter. We then proceeded a bit thro the restaurant to the desk and we were greeted by the owner. She was a super sweet Korean lady. She seated us right away as it was not very busy since it was at 11 pm. Anyway, she then brought us a menu and literally KEPTONCOMINGBACK. She did not even leave us alone. So since my friend and I are white and my third friend is Asian, she kept on talking to my Asian friend. It was overall such a funny experience interacting with her. I asked her if there are any vegan options and she was completely lost but that’s okay! Her niceness definitely made up for it. Anyways, the food was delicious. We ordered rice cakes, soup and cold buckwheat noodles. To be honest, the soup wasn’t good. As for the noodles, I wasn’t really much of a fan but both of my friends liked it. The rice cakes were amazing though. You know, if it wasn’t for the amazing customer service and for the fact that the owner was such a sweet, hilarious lady, I would have given this place 2 – 3 stars. But what the heck, I recommend this place!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially when itis the first review. But I just gotta post this up since my experience have been pretty disappointing. The worst Sul Lung Tang in Ktown or anywhere. You can tell that the people run the place has no heart in it when you taste their soup and banchan. I wish there was a single positive thing about the place… But sadly none. Pretty depressing dump. Dark and dingy used to be a watering hole previously that haphazardly turned into sul lung tang restaurant on a whim overnight with no change from previous dank depressing atmostphere… Don’t throw your money away in this dump and stick with the usual suspects of local sul lung tang places… They use freeze burned meat that taste like a decade old. Obviously the result of poor inventory due to business activity or lack there of.
