I can’t believe there aren’t more reviews of this amazing store! I looove going in here. Inheritance is easily one of the best, most well curated stores in all of L.A. The owner has an incredible eye for wonderfully unique, sometimes incredibly unusual pieces that all the hunting in the world at Rose Bowl or Long Beach flea markets wouldn’t turn up for me. I always have to put more money in my meter because there are so many things look at to buy(and so artfully displayed!) And now there is an upstairs part of the store — that is so genius and macabre. It’s like a darker, edgier version of Inheritance, with cool creepy dolls and statues, altered vintage photos, scull art — it’s twisted, wicked, dark, goth and totally rad. I’m gushing, but this store is worth a visit. You will thank me, cause it’s as much an experience as a place to buy the coolest of the cool.

Inheritance feels like an extension of The Museum of Jurassic Technology. A very small store where everything is laid out to get the most per square footage(or should I say… per inch of space, cause this store is tiny)! There are items on the window sill, items hanging off the staircase, items on the ceiling, everywhere you look, your eyes are consumed by some sort of cool antique, bone, furniture, stuffed animal or trinket. The employees are friendly. The items are overpriced but i suspect it must be expensive to upkeep a store on Beverly Blvd. thus an item you might find at the flea market for a fourth of the price, is price tagged here for the Beverly Hills and Melrose clientele. A fun place to stop and browse even if you don’t intend on buying. When we walked in and asked for the price of a stuffed bird(just out of curiosity), it had just been sold moments before at $ 3500! A toy gun was $ 170 and so forth. Things are pricey but they sell. Someone will have a large stuffed white bird in their living room later this evening; a proud acquisition for $ 3500!

Inheritance is a gem. The well-curated shop offers a selection of beautifully displayed decorative items. The items are mostly small — think dishes, artwork, end tables, pillows and throws — but there is the occasional settee, chair and floor lamp. The prices are reasonable considering the high quality of the goods offered, making it all the more difficult to not want to bring everything you see, home. I ultimately left the shop a happy camper with a one-of-a-kind lamp, throw and artwork in tow. I love me a well-curated vintage/antique shop, and the shopping experience is made that much better when the shop owner is nice. Mike Andrews is friendly and knowledgeable, and made what was already a rad shopping experience that much better with his cheery disposition. A rad place. I can’t wait to return.

When you first walk in you feel like you’ve entered Ariel’s grotto of treasures, except instead of being greeted by Ariel you’re greeted by Mike, the shop owner who is incredibly nice, chatty, and very passionate about what he does. We spent a good 35 minutes discussing French settees, OCD cleaning and rearranging, and pancake parties. I love going into a shop and the shopkeeper is personable and doesn’t mind if you hang out a bit(but if you are going to hang out, be sure to buy something! LOL!) The prices are incredibly fair and some things are surprisingly affordable. There are a few pricey things here and there but they’re pricey for a reason(for example 1950s sterling silver desert forks by Allan Adler which can fetch a price of $ 125-$ 175 A PIECE on Ebay). There are so many little gems in this two story shop! Porcelain bull dog figurines, little magnifying glasses from the 1900s, scarab napkin rings, anatomy dishware, original oil painting portraits, little leather coin purses just large enough for a few lucky pennies… Inheritance is a very well curated shop of lovely little vintage and modern things to collect and admire. We literally turned the car back around after passing this narrow, pocket-sized, 2-story shop during a westward journey across Beverly Blvd. The storefront window’s nautical display convincing us it was worth a peek. And indeed it was, with a collection of new and vintage/antique decorative items that makes you feel like you’re perusing through a once forgotten travel trunk of ooh-inducing items found in your great uncle’s attic. We came away with two larger urchin shell shaped ceramic bowls and a vintage book shaped accordion file box priced lower than any of the online resellers. Prices range greatly, depending upon what captures your eye and when and where it was made. But even if you don’t purchase anything, one is likely to leave inspired by the wares and how thoughtfully everything is displayed and arranged.

Great little shop offering an eclectic while thoughtfully edited collection of vintage and new items. Products range from jewlery, tabletop, home décor and apparel. Really interesting often quirky offerings beautifully turned out in a vintage retail space from LA of the 30’s. Sweet proprietorship owned by Mike Andrews which shows an incredible personal touch rarely seen in retail these days. Prices are reasonable and the product offering are always changing making frequent visits imperative if not critical to your well being. Enjoy this jewel!
