The pupusas are great, rarely do I find good pupusas. The soups and steak encebollado even better. I don’t know why some people complain about them taking long… Duh! They have to cook it… It’s not frozen food or pre heated. And the tortillas made of masa are not pupusas, so they don’t suppose to have cheese in them. Hahaha

Muy buenas las pupusas revueltas que comi junto a mi ensalada. Tienen sabor y muy ricas, les recomiendo el lugar. Gracias a la muchacha que me atendió! Muy amable y atenta!

Came here for a standard El Salvador breakfast. Ordered the chorizo egg. Nice, the chorizo wasn’t overpowering and the eggs were nicely cooked. Came with a nice El Salvador crema. Also had some standard refried beans and rice with a bit of typical cheese, also came with some nicely cooked plantains The highlight would be the 2 pupusa style tortillas, which were thick. No cheese in these, but nice complement to the breakfast. Service was fine and friendly.

We had dinner there last Saturday December 27, 2014… All I have to say… Crunchy Fried Pupusas… yuck! I had a headache and I wanted to throw up as soon as I got home. My Salvadoran felt the same… never going back there again… EVER!!!

I took my momma here on Monday. I was very pleased :) I love their horchata I just wished they had agua de Chan(Chia seed juice) to accompany the pupusas or caldo de pollo I always order when I am here. My mom and I love their nuegados ! They are really good and authentic and dont taste like flour. The nuegados are made from scratch ! Good food, service not so well at times.

So today i tried this place out, lets start with service, me andy girlfriend had to get the menu our selfs because the waitress was nowhere to be found, about 10 mins later she finally shows up tryna give us the menu but by that time we were ready to order . We ordered our food and our drinks, the drinks were ready fast but it took 50 mins to get our food the worst part is that it was empty it shouldnt take that long to make 2 plates of food, so when we finally get our food my order was messed up, i mean cmon if your gona take 50 minutes on an order atleast do it right, aside from terrible service the décor was horrible, i will not be going there ever again and i do not recommend it.

I’ve had better pupusas and their version of horchata was so grainy and got me coughing and wanting water. It also had a very unusual flavor. If not for Ciclavia, I would never be adventurous to look at the reviews and ended up eating here. $ 10 for 1 revueltas and 1 loroco pupusa and 2 horchatas. I recommend Atlacatl Restaurant or Sarita’s in the Grand Central Market instead for pupusas. For other recommendations:

I’m giving it one star for the sole reason that the lady who attended us at around 2 pm gave us super crappy service. We went in for the pupusas special to go. She gave us her attitude, and when asked if we could pay she answered, um if you want to with an annoying tone. Once we got the pupusas we noticed that she gave us no napkins nor fork or anything but the pupusas. We asked her if we could have some and she answered that since they were on special they didn’t give any napkins nor cutlery. Serious? What restaurant does this? The food was good but maybe you should train your staff to at least give a fake smile or time to do some rehiring…

I come here A LOT and I am always happy with the service and food. Although the décor is atrocious, I always leave in a happy state of «good food coma» There are very few places that make me feel that I’m being served food that seems authentically Salvadorean. Pupusas revueltas & platanos fritos are my top favs.

Nice place to get a cheap salvadorian breakfast. All of the breakfast plates come with rice, beans, platanos, crema, eggs(your choice) and tortillas or bread. The coffee was folgers(not that good). The platanos plate doesn’t come with rice– so it’s better to get one of the other plates because it’s pretty much the same thing. The pupusas were good– they give you a lot or curtido so my boyfriend was happy. I’d go here again but it’s nothing special that I would go out of my way for

The pupusas aren’t bad. They have a very misleading«$ 1 to-go pupusas Mon-Fri!» special. If you call them, they may not acknowledge it, and when you remind them they tell you it’s just the pupusas revueltas on sale. In the words of Bart Simpson, «JUH??!» [from episode 2F19] I still eat here, though. VERY surprised they didn’t fuck up chicharron and fried yuca. D:

I’m a real Unilocaler because… I continue writing reviews although Unilocal!is ignoring my Elite requests. I’m also a real Unilocaler because I met great people at Unilocal!events and some of them even became friends(although they forgot about me and didn’t invite me to the latest Unilocal!party). And my true Unilocaliness unleashes by giving this El Salvatorian place in LA on Venice 3 stars. It’s a slightly different experience– I got there by accident because I took the wrong way– but worth a try if you want to avoid the tons of Korean and Mexican places in the area south of K-town. I got there at 6pm on a Saturday night and one lonely lady was working behind the counter. I left my Spanish skills at home, the same did she with her English. Communicating was fun though, and I managed to order chicken, rice, beans, a fried egg, tortillas, and«koka kola». It took a while, but I wasn’t in a hurry. Instead, I enjoyed my outdoor seating in a tent directly on Venice(I think I was sitting on the street already), studied pictures of famous El Salvadorian politicians/military guys/pop stars(cannot tell the difference) and had friendly eye contact with the happy El Salvadorian family at the next table until Little Pedro smashed his plate. I had too much bones in my chicken, but I’m not picky. And the koka kola was good. If you’re taking the wrong way and want a less fancy dining experience, you ought to try out this place. Word.
