The long of it? A friend of mine was ready to get a tattoo she’d been wanting for a while, so a few of us went along with her for moral support. As we were waiting, I mentioned in passing that I had talked to people who had nipple piercings and that they loved them. «I’ve been toying with the idea for a couple of years now», I admitted. «My friends have found that they were much more sensitive afterwards and that they really loved not only how they felt, but also the aesthetics of it.» Jason overhears this and starts talking to me about the importance of knowing anatomy/​nerve placement when piercing and the next thing I know, we spent twenty minutes going through EVERY, SINGLE detail of the process –from sterilization procedures and guidelines, where they get their products (when I asked to keep the bag with the serial number from the needle, he didn’t even bat a lash) to the fact that the second piercing for some reason seems to hurt more than the first so I would be prepared for that. Jason was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and respectful of both the craft and the client. After this discussion I was Convinced that if I was ever going to do this, Jason had to be the one. I felt completely confident in and comfortable with him, which is SO important with this kind of procedure. So I went for it. Jason was patient, me do yoga breathing, and had me so focused that the next thing I knew, it was all well done and over with. But that’s not it: afterwards, he sat both me down for a detailed explanation of how important aftercare is. I’m telling you: this man is the very definition of a professional.
So, here I am, over a six months later and having treated his word as gospel, this is what I have to say: The first two weeks there was almost no bleeding, very little plasma, some pain, a bit of itching and that’s it. The months that have followed have been a breeze… but that’s because i have followed his every instruction. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks, Jason!

Ive been wanting to get my nose pierced since I was a teen, I always had a job that didn’t allow it or I chickened out at the last minute. So, now in my 30s I decided Its now or never.
I did my research and after a long search I found Holistic Tattoo. Had great reviews and I wasn’t disappointed.
Jason is the piercer there (also is a tattoo artist) He was very patient with all the questions I had (I had many) and answered every single one of them. He seemed to know much about his trade and really made me feel comfortable about the whole experience. He was very thorough once we went back into the piercing room telling me step by step about how they sanitize and get rid of the needles after hes done with the piercing and I even got a free sharpie out of it since they don’t double dip on that either. The piercing did not hurt at all. and it looked great! He explained to me how to take care of it and gave me some recommendations of what soap to get. I even learned how to make my own saline solution from him. All in all an amazing experience. Its been a week since my piercing and its healed beautifully! No redness or pain at all. looks like Ive had it for years. Thank you Jason for the best piercing experience Ive ever had. and Ill see you again when I go back to get my ears done.

I once got my conch and fifth position pierced at the same time. My ear was not happy and completely refused to heal on the fifth. Skin got infected and pretty much ate the piercing. It was disgusting.
But, I had loved it because it made a triangle with my conch and second piercing. It looked like it was actually the same piece from the conch. So, after my ear healed, I stopped by Ink Monkey and went ahead and asked him if he could re-​do my failed fifth.
After I explained what happened, and looking at my ear, Jason decided it wasn’t such a good idea, though. Told me why and explained clearly, and instead suggested to pierce right on the rim beside the fifth. The slightest of areas. It would still make a triangle with the three jewels together–
My piercing didn’t have one bit of a problem. And I think it looked even better than before («it’s an equilateral triangle now!»)
He spent a good while explaining aftercare– even if I already had multiple healed piercings, and answered any questions I had. Even better? He gave me a lollipop.
Jason is awesome. I am sad he moved on from Ink Monkey. If you have a chance to have him work on you, take it. Will not disappoint.

So happy I found Jason! I first found Jason at a shop in Venice. I wanted to get a microdermal on my face, as you can imagine because of the location I wanted to go to best. I went to Jason because of the endless ravishing reviews he had on Unilocal for this shop. Upon meeting him I was confident I was in excellent hands. Already having 7 piercings and 12 tattoos I’ve been in my fair share of body modification shops and met many professional body modification artists. Jason blew them all away with his professionalism and knowledge. He thoroughly explained the procedure, what I would be experiencing, and the aftercare (a double page printout that leaves no questions on how to properly care for your piercing and avoid infection). He’s funny and easy going, I felt really comfortable the whole time.
Since meeting Jason no one else has stuck a needle in me. I went back 3 weeks later for 2 more microdermals on my chest and after looking at his tattoo portfolio I’ve been getting tattooed by him since. He is an amazing artist. I have followed him here to Hollistic Tattoo and Body Modification and will continue to follow him wherever he goes. I take my body adornment very seriously and would never skimp on something like a needle penetrating my skin. Worth every penny!!!
