Came here for styling for a photoshoot. I got my hair washed, blown dry, then curled. Not only did I get exactly what I wanted — bring pictures — but also, she noticed a had a lot of split ends and asked me if I need a trim. I decided I need a small hair cut anyway, so I said yes. She only charged me five extra dollars for the cut! Choonhee is so sweet and although I don’t speak Korean and most of the workers mainly speak Korean, there was no miscommunication or difficulty being a customer here. I love this place, it is definitely a hidden gem. Will be back.

Needed to wash my hair but didn’t have time to do it before leaving home. After getting some errands done I had about 30 minutes of free time and I happened to be at the bookstore next to Hair by Choon Hee. I thought I’d pop in to get my hair washed and dried real quick. Ran in and asked how much it would cost just for a wash. I expected at most $ 15. I’d pay tip as well, of course. she says $ 30. I’m like wtf? $ 30 is how much it costs to get at least a trim which happens to require more work… wash and dry is like. nothing. Yeah. Too greedy for me. I’ll just continue my day with my slightly oily hair and wash it myself when I get home.

A great place to get a perfect haircut. Was bummed out when I had to move from my last hairstylist but this one makes up for it. They cut Asian hair really well and I’m pretty sure the head stylist has 10+ years of experience. Thanks!

I came in for a trim and I’m so impressed! $ 30 and the woman that cut my hair gave me the best cut. Can’t remember the last time I was so happy with a haircut!

Cindy is the owner of this salon and she is one of the best hair stylist & colorist. My fashionable mom has been going to her for many years, and whenever I go back to her, I don’t need to worry about her job at all cuz I know for sure she will do a good job no matter what. She uses quality products only, and she is always humble. Her cut, color, perm is very natural. I’ve done mostly colors & cuts. She does wonderful color works without damaging your hair. I’ve been always searching and going to the best colorists, and I can tell she is the best of them. Her cutting & perming skills are also far above some skilled stylists. She is kinda quiet and doesn’t speak much(which I like), but her hair jobs will tell.

Beautiful salon. I walked in for a color, because I just needed to get rid of the color I had and go for something easy. So I opted for a single color dye, and I previously had a dark to very light ombré. Esther took me in and sat down with a color chart, pointing out which colors are doable. She speaks no English, only Korean. She was very patient, even with the language barrier, careful to tell me which colors will damage my ends further. We agreed on a dark ash brown, and got me to change into a robe. Throughout the whole process, she was super careful with detail and making sure all the hair was covered, that the dye was setting, and adding dye to the ends to accommodate my multicolored hair previously. When it came to drying I noticed she was careful to dry on medium, taking her time. No tugging or pulling. My hair was pat dry, not towel rubbed. She basically finger dried my thick thick hair and then brushed it gently after. Even I don’t have the time for that at home. The color came out in perfect ash and I didn’t need toner. Impressive. The color cost me $ 100 which is pricey but I’m so happy with the results and the care she put in for my hair I’m not even going to complain. Love this salon.

I don’t even know where to start! I have never had such a horrible experience at a hair salon in my life. No I’m not been over dramatic I’m usually very very lenient when it comes to my hair and since I had seen such«great reviews» on here i was like hey lets give it a try! Worst mistake ever! I have had my hair dyed for the past half a year blonde and when I entered this«salon» I was very clear when I specified I wanted my hair a tone DARKER and that was all. Two and a half hours into the process my hair looked perfectly fine until the owner decided that she would make the decision of putting a «hair manicure» on me first of all i never asked for this second of all she should have asked if it was okay for her to put this on me and third the worst was yet to happen! After sitting on a chair for over 3 hours my hair had turned P I N K! And no I’m not blind my hair went from blonde to pink! And she still wanted to charge me over 150 $ for something that I didn’t want and she had ruined my hair!!! She wanted to send me out like that and I refused and told her she had to fix it or I would nt pay her one dime at this point my scalp is severely swollen and she decides to out another color into it. Take in note I’ve been at her salon over 41⁄2 hours I’m drained annoyed and my head feels like it’s on fire. Human nature kicked in and I finally told her she needed to wash anything she was Doing off and was going to leave. As i arrive home my hair had turned GREY! I am warning anybody who comes here beware!!! Unprofessional. If i could i wouldn’t even give it one star but Unilocal won’t allow me ha!

I was contemplating dying my hair for the first time last November, and when I finally decided to dyedyedye, I came here. I was here only once before, and frankly, it wasn’t all that memorable. Ultimately, however, I came back for their low price, and I’m glad I did! I got my hair cut, dyed and highlighted by Sunnie. She did a great job! My hair has a mind of its own and is very temperamental, so when she managed to make a satisfied customer out of me, I knew. I may have found the one. But. it’s too early to tell in this relationship. Ha I came back again for a touch up in January, and no complaints. I’m due for a hair cut and I’m probably going to chop off 10 inches or so. If Sunnie can manage to pull of this hairstyle, I may just commit to being a regular here.

I recently got my hair cut here and decided to get bangs. I got my hair done by Sunnie Park. I was greated and then taken to the coat room where I could hang my coat. Fancy! She listened to how I wanted my hair cut and did an amazing job! I was satisfied to the fullest about my cut!

Had my first hair cut here with Sunnie last week and it was such a great experience! Firstly, the salon was clean, chic, and spacious. And the stylists were very friendly and accommodating. In fact, Sunnie was very meticulous, gentle, and personable. She asked very specific questions about my preferences regarding trim length, style, and even followed them to the T! Not to mention she gave me great tips on hair care and health products. I don’t cut my hair too often, so was a little bit nervous about trying this place out… But I’m glad I decided to go here. A cut(with shampoo) is $ 35 but I was so excited with the results that I tipped way more than I had intended to. I walked away a VERY satisfied customer with an amazing new medium cut. And will undoubtedly return for my next one. :) *Note though: The only negative thing I could say about this place is the compact parking spaces/lot… But there’s plenty of meter parking on the side street.

I got the haircut of a lifetime here. Let me elaborate. I’m Korean and I have super long, fine hair. My hair is currently 3 months digipermed(by a Japanese hair salon in NYC because I tend not to trust Korean stylists with hair — especially the trendy salons because they almost always never listen to what you want done). I hate that most Korean stylists never«get» what you’re asking them to do — even if what you’re asking for is just a trim. Or they«disagree» with your idea of a haircut because its not in line with the current trend or they think it would look bad — but frankly they probably just don’t want to do what you’re asking. So… I got a trim/more layers at this place by the main lady who charges $ 35. She is good. This was my first time here(first LA haircut for that matter) so I had zero expectations and came out with a beautiful cut. She trimmed all over and added more layers throughout my hair which I specifically asked for. This is hard to do for someone who has really fine hair because usually it turns out looking too thin on the ends and that makes it look messy — but this lady was meticulous and definitely knew what she was doing. If I lived here I would definitely go back. I haven’t given them 5 stars because I haven’t had a perm from them and sort of hard to rate 5 without having had a «major» hair event.

I went to this salon twice for a perm, cut, and dye from my hair stylist Young-A. I recommend getting her to cut your hair; My bangs got saved after I accidently over-chopped it. She’s works fast and won’t cut shorter than you ask compared to most Korean hairstylists that chop 50% more than you originally attended to. I got the whole hair combo set done within two hours. Her price range is low to decent. She also offered a complimentary unmentionable root retouch hair dye for my mother when you get a perm. The store has an overall nice and comfy atmosphere. If you’re looking for one of those Asian perms, they offer a variety of perms from digi perms to air perms.
