Guitar Lessons by Chris Jacks

First of all, Chris is one of my favorite human beings. With regards to music, his gift as a songwriter, singer and guitar player is so unique and beautiful. He is also great in the studio as a producer. I had the lovely opportunity to tour France with Chris and have him play guitar and sing in my band. He brought every song to life in a way I had never imagined. Ah, the melodies of his solos! Later, I came to him for guitar lessons and he knew just how to reach me, bringing in my love of blues and songwriting. He recently started teaching my 13 year old daughter. After her first lesson, she was already writing a song (humorously titled «my fingers hurt»). Before Chris, she was not sure she wanted to take lessons but came out happy and excited about music and confident about her abilities.
Mr. Jacks has the unusual combination of being naturally creatively talented while also being very knowledgable with music theory. He is also really funny. Watch him though! You will think you’re just having fun, next thing you know… you’re playing guitar!

Chris is the best !! He has been teaching my son guitar for 9 years. From the basics of holding a guitar and strumming to teaching him sight reading, chord structure, song writing and a working understanding of how guitar playing fits in with a band Chris has taken through all of it. He has been instrumental (pun intended) in learning jazz, rock, country and developing a love for playing all forms of guitar oriented music. Over the years, he has played in multiple bands in many formats and has also had the opportunity to play with some Hall of Fame rock stars — Chris has made that all possible. Chris Jacks has been teaching my son Nick for the last five years. He developed him from a nine year old beginner, to a solid player/​singer who fronts a band. Chris has also acted as a musical director for this young teen band, teaching them how to play together, making musical adjustments, and coaxing some rock star performances. My son looks forward to his weekly lesson, and Chris will be part of our family for many years to come. In addition to teaching guitar, Chris guides my son thru the process of writing music. While I am not sure how, thru Chris’s musical genius, my son also now plays piano.
