Such a great breakfast spot! Delicious menu and a beautiful and relaxing patio. The egg sandwich on a croissant was awesome!

Thank you Grub for responding to my review. Everything I ordered was cooked properly, so I wouldn’t have had a reason to return it or bring it up to your staff. Your flavor combinations were just not to my liking.

Cute environment and outdoor patio, but we waited 40+ minutes for our food and we only had 3 ppl with us. The food was delicious though! I will come back but when I have more time to eat.

My friends and I came here on a whim. Totally didn’t expect how great it was going to be! We ordered The Flashback Mc & Cheese(with jalapeños), the Bacon Crack Cheddar Burger, and the BLT with Chicken and potatoes. Started off with 6-layer dip with Pita bread, and Arnold Palmer(with blueberry lemonade!) & Ginger Ale(fresh!). The food was very good. Ingredients tasted fresh, the crack bacon is to do for — very crispy and flavorful. The sandwiches/burgers are huge and cooked the way you order it. Ultimately, worth the prices(a little high), and the service was incredible! Great place to eat!

My cubbie mentee was back in town after years of working overseas, so we caught up on a brunch date. Grub was the spot chosen. It’s not located on a main street, but in an area that’s pretty residential, so you’ll find plenty of street parking. Just keep an eye on the parking signs and restrictions. Grub itself looks like a converted home to restaurant. There is patio and garden seating outdoors and seating inside the«house.» Mostly tables for small groups of 2 – 4 inside. They give you a bowl of dry cereal to munch on while waiting for your food. It’s the kind you remember from childhood, like Froot Loops or Cap’n Crunch, not the healthy kind that you’re supposed to eat now. :) While cubbie ordered their breakfast burrito, I ordered the omelette opera. For $ 12.99, you pick 3 items of your choice from cheese, veggies, and meat. My omelette had pepper jack cheese, spinach, and crack bacon. I couldn’t not pick the crack bacon, since Grub is known for its bacon. The omelette comes with a side of garlic and herb roasted potatoes and 4 pieces of toast. I chose sourdough out of the San Francisco sourdough, multigrain or rye choices for bread. Man, the food sure lived up to the brunch name. It was soo good! Cubbie mentee lives within walking distance from here. Looks like Grub is a good excuse for me to come by and visit the cubbie mentee soon!

We ordered the ooh la la sandwich, croissant French toast with raspberry butter. The idea was good but the execution was poor. The sandwich was very soggy, hard to eat, and the French toast was kinda doughy, more like a dessert. Blueberry lemonade was good. Bathroom was smelly cuz of the stadium urinals. Overall atmosphere was very cute.

This was one of those breakfast/brunch joints in LA that we have been meaning to go to for years but only recently went to. It was 1pm on a Saturday, and we were able to get a table inside right away, as much of the weekend brunch crowd had already died down. It’s a charming little place that makes you feel like you’re eating at home, and with kids in tow, that’s the vibe I like. The food was good– it wasn’t the greatest, and it definitely didn’t live up to my expectations. I ordered the Omelet Opera, which is $ 12.99 for 3 items of your choice. I chose cheddar cheese, roasted onions, and«crack bacon». My omelet was served with their garlic & herb roasted new potatoes and sourdough bread. Maybe I didn’t choose the right ingredients for my omelet, but I just wasn’t diggin’ it. The roasted onions were a tad bit too sweet for my liking, which probably threw my entire palate off as I also did not enjoy the«crack bacon» that everyone swears is THEBEST. I will say, however, that the eggs were cooked to perfection– nice and fluffy– and I would definitely come back to this place to try something else. Oh, and I did try some of my kids’ order of The Carnival B.F.P. It was good! The fruity cereal and the powdered sugar make it sweet enough that you don’t need to add syrup.

This is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. They have the kindest staff, the best French toast, and don’t get me started on the bacon. Please. Don’t get me started. Everything you’ve heard is true. The myths. The legends. The tales. The bacon is sent from the havens. Not only is the food exceptional, all of it, but the place looks amazing. They have a very funny menu and also some hilarious décor(funny signs, etc.) It’s all very tasteful and makes you feel like you’re at home. I love it! If you haven’t been here, go. Go now. Then, go again. Then, even when you’re feeling lazy, order the best grilled cheese(add bacon) with tomato soup awesomely called«the afternoon special» for pickup! Whatever you order, you can’t go wrong. I have nothing but good things to say about this wonderful little gem of a restaurant. An absolute masterpiece in a crowded Los Angeles environment.

Over hyped! Sorry but I get that this place is in Hollywood and everything in Hollywood is relatively expensive but that does not mean that I would be swayed by a croissant dressed up as a French toast and made to pass for someone fancy. I ordered their famous croissant French toast which was basically croissant dipped in French toast batter. It tastes exactly like you would imagine. Friend got the eggs with toast. Scrambled eggs on the side cost as much as an omelette would. I just fail to get the hype and reviews. Only thing I found cute were the catty pictures in the ladies room and the bowl of cereal they put in front of you to chow down on while you wait for our food. Cute, yes but not worth the $ 57 we paid for a breakfast we could have had anywhere else.

I’m totally in love with this place right now. I’ve been living around the corner for over a year now, but have never checked out the restaurant. All those times that I was starving and was too lazy to drive anywhere I could have walked 50 feet and ate like a king. No seriously, this is my new go to spot for quality restaurant food. The great part is that they provide a complimentary starter basket with cucumber, carrots, pretzels, and ranch for dipping. Not what i expected, but still a good surprise. I had an iced tea, which came in a very large cup… even better. I had the burger with a salad as the side. Delivoius bbq bacon burger with fried onions. You know it’s a fresh beef patty because it was hand pressed and bulky, not a flat premade one. Our waiter was great. Didn’t get her name, but she defintely kept her eye on us. It was a slow Saturday night, I’m not sure what it’s like during lunch hour or during the week. I’m assuming that a lot of people who work at the studios dine here for lunch. I’ve driven by many times where they have valet parking on the side. No need, there’s free street parking(2 hour limit) on Seward & Willoughby, south of the restaurant. Just make sure you read the street signs, street cleaning on some days.

This place is ADORABLE, and we got there right at 5pm on a Saturday(when they reopen for dinner) so we were the first ones there and got to sit right by the cute little fireplace. The menu is really funny, so make sure you read it. But really, the food. It’s pretty delicious. I got the After School Special(grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup). SUPERCREAMY. I don’t usually like tomato soup but this was the best I’ve ever had. The grilled cheese was very cheesy and yummy. We ordered a side of crack bacon… we didn’t really like it. I was expecting a jalapeño bacon or something… it’s actually sweet and tastes like candy. Oh! Can’t forget the cookie. We ate it before our meal. It’s a chocolate chip, potato chip cookie and it was the BEST part of the meal. We’ll go here again for sure.

Adorable place. Love the vibe. The owner is a vegetarian, so there are lots of veggie friendly items on the menu, but it’s not a fake meat place. It’s a real food place. Instead of chips when you sit down, they bring you pretzels and carrot sticks. The homemade blueberry lemonade was delicious. My husband had the tuna melt with tomato soup. I had the vegetarian chili. My daughter and I shared the bowl and couldn’t finish it. Delicious. My son had breakfast, which they serve all day. The plate was huge. This is definitely a great breakfast for dinner place.

Idk how this place has good reviews because when I went the food was DISGUSTING and my bread on my hamburger was stale and SOOO gross. UPDATE After receiving an arrogant response from the owner letting me know her bread isn’t stale(even though it WAS) and pretty much saying it’s my BAD for not saying something I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. Sorry I’m not a Bitch that sends my food back making a big deal Embarrassing you in front of other customers and demanding a refund lol. K! I’ll make sure to be a super Huge bitch next time. OBNOXIOUS. Thanks for serving me disgusting food and then insulting me on top of it. Way to go!!! I don’t give a fuck if your bread came from a «famous bakery» my bread was stale and disgusting. My food wasn’t just«not good» it was DOwn right GROSS! Just because you have«lots of happy customers» doesn’t mean my experience didn’t happen so to imply I’m some sort of liar is ridiculous. Maybe a we are so sorry would have been nice. Please let us fix this. Not a NOYOUAREWRONG our breads amazing u should have asked for something else we have lots of happy customers.

Seeing all the high ratings and reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Grub for lunch after our morning hike. Since the brunch rush was over already, we were immediately seated at a table outside. The menu was a little confusing to read(especially the front side). I decided to get an omelette with spinach, tomatoes and«crack bacon.» I also opted for egg whites which was an extra $ 2.50. I thought that was kind of expensive because other restaurants I’ve been to only charge $ 1 or $ 2 for egg whites. My boyfriend got the tuna melt with a side of salad. He really wanted to upgrade to the tomato soup, but he also wanted the salad. So, he ordered a side of tomato soup which was $ 5.95 compared to the $ 2.50 for just upgrading. My omelette was just mediocre. Nothing about it stood out to me. expect the fact that it was pretty damn oily haha. I expected a lot more from my dish especially because they rave about their«crack bacon.» To be honest, it just tasted like normal bacon to me. My boyfriend’s tuna melt was pretty good. Portion was big. However, the tomato soup that came out was tiny as hell. It was literally a small cup of soup… for $ 5.95? Man, for only like $ 2 more we could go to Souplantation and get unlimited soup! Half way through our lunch, we noticed other tables getting these small green bowls. We asked our waitress what they were because we were curious. Turns out, it was a small cereal snack for when you sit down and are waiting for your food. We weren’t given any when we got there :( Grub, you have disappointed me because I had high expectations for you. Your food did not wow me and your prices made me sad.

Well, I went… And I won’t ever go back again. I thought this place was going to be FARBETTER than what it was… With a lot more options, alas, the menu on line is deceiving. Grub had been on my «bookmarks» list here on Unilocal for quite some time… But I officially just took it off because A. I conquered the joint(with my mouth) and B. I won’t be back, which is slightly disappointing. Sure it’s a cute joint, off the beaten path, with«LASTYLE» bites and drinks… I can definitely see a lot of celebrities and«basics» liking this place. However THIS celebrity(lol) isn’t the biggest fan. I ordered the Olympus salad, because olives, artichokes and hummus, YUM! Love a good Mediterranean combo like that, and with chicken on top, that just SEALSTHEDEAL… And the menu agrees, as it says«Lemon Chicken is perfect on this dish.» I now know that that was only A SUGGESTION because I ordered the salad with the chicken and they wound up charging us $ 5… And let me completely HONEST… The waiter said the chicken was 5 – 7 oz worth, but it was definitely a PALTRY3 oz! I can get 8 – 10 oz of amazing chicken at Spitz(if you’ve never been, GORIGHTNOW) for $ 6−7… Three ounces for $ 5, PAH-LEEZE! End Chicken Rant. How did the meal taste? Actually, I did really like it… And my dining companion, who is the pickiest person on the face of the planet really liked the hummus that was GENEROUSLY served on top of my greens(salad hack: ask for no dressing and use the hummus as such)… I honestly thought he was going to think it was a tiny by bland, because I did… But I was hungry and ate it all! My dining companion ordered the Cuban as a sandwich, and I heard no complaints from him, other than, «there isn’t enough meat on this sandwich»… So I guess the moral of «the story» is that: Grub doesn’t offer up enough MEATGRUB on their entrees! I guess it could, if you want to pay MORE! Another negative= the wait was long. Putin together a NOCOOK salad and a NOCOOK sandwich should take ATMAX, 10 minutes. But our meals took at least 30 minutes to construct… So another bit of advice: go to Grub before your hungry hits, by the time you get your food, you’ll be hungry for it! Notes: — Street Parking or Valet(didn’t see how much that was) — I could definitely see this place as getting packed for brunch on the weekend, so go early. — Wear your glasses if you can’t see far away, because you might see a celebrity there, if you care… I don’t. Ha. I care about EATING! — Instead of a bread basket, Grub gives you pretzels, carrots and cucumbers to munch on as you order and wait for your assortment of goods! I’ll only go back to Grub, if I’m dragged or if Betty(the owner and Top Chef contestant) personally invites me… Ha!

I went to this place for brunch on a Saturday. That said, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too crowded. Their outdoor seating is really nice. I loved the ambiance. Our waitress was really nice and helpful with our questions. I decided on the ooh la la breakfast sandwich since it had two things I wanted to try — the bacon and the croissant French toast. The sandwich was okay. I wasn’t very impressed by the French toast and I didn’t love the sweetness of the bacon. It was definitely a large sandwich — tho not sure it was worth almost $ 15. On a positive note, the chocolate chip potato chip cookie was DELICIOUS. Don’t leave without trying one.

This place is downright adorable! Came her to do a little recon for about 20 people to have lunch here and brought my bestie along for good measure. We split a spinach salad and a tuna melt(after seeing on the menu that it’s the best in LA!). The food did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, plated nicely and quite yummy. We finished it off with a chocolate chip potato chip cookie(a must get!) and left happy. Service was excellent and very attentive. We chose to be seated inside as it was hot and humid outside. The patio outside has lots of seating and it decorated in the most darling way. Loved this little spot you would never know is here, tucked away in a little neighborhood in Hollywood. No problem finding street parking during the day, but could be different at night. They have valet if you’re so inclined.

Grub is one of the more well-known breakfast /brunch restaurants in West Los Angeles. Co-owner Betty Fraser was one of the contestants on 2nd season of Top Chef. Parking — Valet parking($ 4.50) or street parking(e.g. Willoughby Ave), but please do read the street parking signs. Atmosphere: A pretty hip dog-friendly restaurant. Overall the staff was very friendly and it was nice to have a free bowl of cereal to start off our brunch. On a separate note, Grub only accepts up to two credit cards per check. Oh, I also discovered that my fork and knife were magnetized! *** Blueberry Lemonade($ 2.99): Not too sour and not too sweet — just the way I like it.(4.5÷5) Our Friggin’ Amazin’ French Toast(Fresh buttery Croissants coated with our Cinnamon Vanilla batter & cooked to a golden brown with Maple Syrup, Pecans & homemade Raspberry Butter — $ 10.99) — A pretty solid French toast(it had more of a fluffy /pancake-like texture) and raspberry butter definitely gave a faint and interesting flavor.(4⁄5) Crack Bacon(side — $ 5.25): This is Grub’s signature /most famous dish(bacon glazed with maple syrup). I am not a bacon guy, but I gotta admit these strips of bacon were pretty flavorful. This is a must try.(5⁄5) *** A very pleasant brunch and BACON experience. Solid food(especially bacon) + excellent service — not so amazing parking + relaxing atmosphere = 4.5-stars breakfast experience. Tip — I would highly encourage anyone to come here before 11AM to avoid a long waiting line. P. S. — One free Grub’s Famous«Fosse» cookie with Unilocal check-in offer.
