My bartender was great at helping me pick some drinks. I ended up with the minor situation & the whiskey sour. My favorite out of the 2 would have to be the minor situation. A bit fruity, but you could still taste the strength of the alcohol!

Located in the lobby of the JW Marriott, this is a pretty cool spot to hangout and have some beverages. The drink prices aren’t too bad: Domestic beer $ 7 Other beer $ 8 White wine $ 11+ Red wine $ 13+ Cocktails $ 14+ It’s a nice place grab a drink if you’re staying in the hotel. We used it as our home base to meet others that we were traveling with. The service here is not great though… especially when it gets busy. We had to go to the bar and grab our own drinks when it got busy. Other than that, it’s an average experience. Return Factor — 50%

Glance is a decent bar located right inside of the JW Marriott in LA Live. Sometimes you just find yourself inside of the hotel and figure that the hotel bar is a legit choice. Glance definitely gets the job done, but it’s a bit on the pricey side and the selection is rather limited. The pours here are not all that generous either… The one thing this place has going for it is the people watching ability and potential celeb spotting opportunity. Other then that, I’d go to the mixing room located right across the way. Pros– Location People watching Celeb spotting Relaxing Lounges Near LA live Cons– Pricey Small TVs Not the greatest service

Purely disgusted! The bartender was completely racist. And the worst part, we were both Latinos! She completely did not want to serve me or my 2 other guests. COMPLETELY repeated to force me to sit down and wait to be served and was told to leave the area. I asked why I can not order at the bar and she couldn’t answer me. At the end, took my order and I gave her a hefty tip just to prove a point. She easily judged me based of my AGE and RACE. Simple. Read all of my previous reviews. I’m not here to try and bring a business down. I’m not here trolling. I just can’t believe how incredibly offensive I feel, and I’m not easily offended. I am staying at the same hotel as the bar, JW Marriott. Next time I’m in L.A., I will NOT be coming back. I know the hotel might not be necessarily to blame for the bar, but repercussions are necessary. Worst part, my father works for Marriott and I stay at Marriotts with the friends and family rate. To be disrespected as a son of an employee is something I don’t tolerate and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I repeat, I will never be bring my business here. Not a dime! Posted pics of the the bartender that was the most disrespectful i’ve ever experienced.

Drink up! gLance Wine Bar is situated inside the JW Marriott hotel right by the Staples Center. This place definitely has a fun and very modern décor from the furniture to looking overhead it is a very beautiful bar. I came here last Sunday before I went to the Clippers vs Rockets basketball game, and I enjoyed some cocktails here. The bartender was very friendly and made the drinks just right. I like this spot and would definitely return here whenever I am back in the area. Get your sip on here… cheers!

Stopped in the lounge while waiting to meet up with some friends. The interior is beautiful with wifi, air conditioning, and lots of plugs in case you need to charge. I think this is more attributed to the JW Marriott, rather than glance. We sat down at 2:10 on a Saturday afternoon and looked through a drink menu. It was very empty with a few people at the bar and 4 or 5 couples scattered around. No one came to ask us our order, or acknowledged us until we flagged down a waitress about 20 minutes later. She took our order and our card to open a tab. 15 minutes later another waitress returned with the tab to sign, and 2 of our 3 drinks. We ordered chips and guac, and reminded her of the third drink. It’s now been 20 minutes, and she brought us the third drink after we reminded her again. No sign of the($ 17) chips and guac. Reminded the waitress again nearly 30 after ordering, and the chips and guac were out in 2 minutes. They were tasty. After valeting the car and being surrounded in the beautiful JW Marriott lobby, I’d expect better of this hotel lounge.

We met here before heading to a Sparks game. It’s a lovely, busy place. We were lucky to find a seat. Happy Hour fills this place up, so plan appropriately. The table(very) close to us had the Mezze Plate and it looked great, so we ordered that($ 14). It was definitely large enough for two moderately hungry ladies to share with a cocktail — included hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouleh, muhammara and olives… all fresh and good. The signature cocktail list looked tempting, but we instead both chose a really nice(and very cold — love) glass of Pinot Grigio($ 11). It’s not a cheap happy hour, but if you’re going to an event at Staples Center, it’s a civilized place to fuel up pre-game.

With two major concerts going on at Staples Center and Nokia Theater, you would figure that the managers would schedule more staff. Not the case. I was very lucky to have found a booth seat considering the mayhem of the evening; yet, I sat in said booth for 20 minutes waiting for a server. Proceeded to the bar to order drinks, but I suppose I should have worn the frilly costumes the 10 – 14 year olds who were going to the Katy Perry concert were wearing to have been noticed. Note to bartenders: If I am standing in front of the bar, facing you — it’s because I want a drink — not because I am marveling at your Brian Flanagan moves behind the bar.

While this place is very nice and in a cool part of town, it is extremely overpriced. I went to sit down for a soda while I had down time at a conference and told them I would pay with cash. The waiter took my card and put a 50 dollar authorization check. Those things take 3 days to drop even though I paid with cash. I am extremely disappointed. What a rip off.

gLAnce definitely keeps the high class vibe that the rest of the hotel it’s located in establishes. Colorful couches and coffee tables are scattered across the bar making it comfy and somewhat private from other guests. There was one server working the bar this afternoon and his name is Eric. Even with a bad leg(noticed a limp) he was able to wait on multiple tables and bring drinks out in a very timely manner. He was polite, quick and has a very friendly vibe about him. My first drink was the«Once in a blue». Monkey shoulder whiskey, Blue Moon, Orange marmalade, simple syrup, lemon juice and orange bitters. Beer and whiskey in the same drink I’ve never heard of but surprisingly they tasted very good together. The drink was strong and you can really taste the citrus flavors from the lemon juice and orange bitters. To add a tad more citrus the drink was garnished with a lemon peel. I’m not going to lie, the drink was pretty amazing and cost $ 14.00. For my second drink I went for a Blue Moon. With only a few beers on tap, Blue Moon was my favorite. A nice cold beer that can be described in one word: Refreshing. Plus only $ 8.00.

Love the Apple Ginger whiskey sour drink and they have another drink that sounds pretty interesting, the once in a blue, Monkey Shoulder whiskey and blue moon. A must have is their short rib taquitos and the margherita pizza. Nice location in the hotel lobby and right next door to the Staples Center.

Great place to grab a quick bite & drinks or spend a long evening. Located behind the lobby in the Marriott. Seating available at the bar and couches/tables behind. Availability depends largely on events going on in LA Live. I live next door at the Ritz. I’ve seen this place insanely packed and ghostly empty at different times throughout the day and week. Food menu is limited but good. The following are a few of my favorites: Cheese plate($ 15) Caesar salad($ 13) Margherita pizza($ 15) Appetizer size portions. Drinks are good. Prices are high for both food & drinks. Service varies from decent to excellent. I mostly come here for the conveniency.

Before meeting friends somewhere else, we decided to stop in and check out the hotel. gLAnce is a fun place. You are kind of out in the lobby with lots of nice chairs. Many business people and others are in the lobby having a drink. I know the going rate for a fancy cocktail can get pretty expensive, and this was more than I usually would pay. But I got a Martini with pomegranate and it was delicious. Our waitress was nice and courteous, telling us all about the bar and the hotels, and the other restaurants on the upper floors. If they ever had a happy hour with reduced prices, I would come by again. But at the price of their drinks this was only a special treat.

The environment is cool and the place looks good. It is in a very convenient location. The service varies from good to tolerable. The biggest drawback is the cost. The drinks are on the high end of the cost scale, even for downtown. They do have a small food menu that is good for snacking or dessert. We live close so we walk here. Parking is readily available, but it will cost you.

I happened to visit gLAnce during one of the busiest weekends on the holiday season. Despite being extremely crowded, it never felt that way. The service was on point and the servers and bartenders never missed a beat. The drinks were a tad pricey– $ 14 cocktails and the cheapest wine was around $ 16, it was well worth it. Fresh ingredients and signature drinks, I had an amazing time lounging on the couches. It’s easy to forget that you’re technically sitting in the«hotel lobby bar». My boyfriend ordered the Moscow Mule with standard Russian vodka, I opted for the apple pomegranate cider, which actually is a Mixing Room drink but the bartender went over there to borrow a few ingredients to make mine. SOWORTHIT. If you happen to be at LA Live and want to grab a cocktail or two, gLAnce is totally your place.

I really enjoyed visiting gLAnce. It’s 1000 times better than what Hotel Lounge might suggest. Rather, it has an airy charm with seats and tables as well as a nice if smallish bar to sidle up to. Staff was courteous and helpful — I vacillated between a couple wines, and was promptly offered tastes. Of course I ended up loving the pricey Chardonnay from Napa, but damnit, it was good. When friends found me, we picked out a couple quick apps that were just fine: a cheese plate, and a mediterranean plate. This was the perfect way to quell some peckishness before we walked to the movie. On another occasion, I found myself seated with my laptop, and enjoyed the relative calm of the wide-open space. Would definitely return, whether I had business here at JW Marriott or not.

I love gLAnce Wine Bar! On my recent visit I ordered a Watermelon Cucumber Mojito. The bartender said they don’t have it on the menu but can put it together with whatever ingredients available. Awesome! Turned out better than Katsuya’s version. The cocktail was perfectly sweetened and so refreshing! It’s a perfect Summer drink. GWB is located in the lobby of LAJW Marriott. I love the atmosphere and the place is beautifully decorated.

My buddy and I stopped in here after watching the Kings defeat the Blues. Go Kings! Our server seemed mildly disappointed when we closed out our tab after two drinks each. We closed our tab because of the weak drinks. I expect more than a dash of whisky in a whisky sour.

Although Glance markets itself as a wine bar, it is a full bar. My bf and I stopped here on a Saturday night for a Kettle One and cranberry. It was crowded as anywhere else in downtown, LA but we managed to find two seats by the bar. Glance is a good option to have for a bar crawl because sometimes, everything at LA Live is packed. Glance gets busy too, but it doesn’t seem nearly as bad as other places.
