BESTHOTDOGEVER. I got the backyard dog and added jalapeño relish. The bun was amazing and probably grilled in a ton of butter. I did not share this with anyone I was with because I’m selfish but I did try someone’s burger and it was equally delicious.

I took my husband here for his birthday lunch after spending most of the afternoon at the Broad Museum. The restaurant is clean, modern, and simple. I like the casual atmosphere and the décor is cute. Even though the rotisserie chicken smelled amazing, I opted to try the Fritzi Burger with the beef/bacon blend. My husband decided to try the Smoked Salmon Sandwich. We shared a round of tater tots, but we definitely should’ve gotten two orders because seriously, hands off my tots! I added the vermont beer-cheddar dipping sauce and tried the house-made grapefruit soda. My burger was amazing. It was juicy, flavorful, and I enjoyed every single bite. I even loved the bun that it came on! That said, I felt like it was a small burger, so people with a larger appetite should order two or opt for more sides. My husband said that his sandwich was fine, but it was nothing to write home about. The tots were also delicious and even Napoleon Dynamite wouldn’t have any leftovers for his pockets. I really enjoyed the grapefruit soda as well. For the price I thought the portion sizes would be a little larger, but I would definitely come back to get another burger. So yummy!

We were eating around the area and thought we’d stop by Fritzi for a quick drink before going over to Arts District Brewing Co. for games. For a Sunday, the place wasn’t crowded and we got seated immediately. We ordered a Grapefruit Collins w/Vodka and a Red Eye. I’ve had the Grapefruit Collins before so I knew what to expect – the Red Eye though, was interesting – it’s coffee with beer and whiskey. A little under halfway through our drinks, I noticed there was a bug in the Red Eye and brought it to the attention of the manager/hostess. Upon hearing what happened, the manager/hostess was immediately defensive, her reaction and customer service was nothing short of unprofessional. Whether or not the fly had just landed in the drink, there was a fly in the drink. And the manager/hostess should’ve taken care of the drink, instead of questioning when the fly had flown in. What if the fly had been in the drink since it was first served and we didn’t notice it till now? I’d also like to note that the replacement drink was a ¼th in size of a regular drink – this just seemed so sad and cheap on Fritzi’s part. I’m still a fan of Fritzi and I’m sure I’ll be back, but I am a bit taken aback by this and I don’t think I’d go out of my way just to come back anymore.

My new office is smack dab in the Arts District so fortunately(and unfortunately) I’m surrounded by tons of restaurants! I came here for lunch with my co-workers who unlike me have frequented this place many times. It’s located next to Arts District Brewing Co. and has a cool industrial interior as well as outdoor seating– making it dog-friendly! Per my co-worker’s recommendation, I got ¼ Rotisserie Chicken plate($ 15) which comes with your choice of vegetable and potato style(fries, tots or waffle). You also get to choose light or dark meat. I got the light meat, Charred Brussel Sprouts and Tots. Albeit the price being pretty steep for lunch, they do give you a generous amount for the sides so at least that helps justify it. The chicken was nice and moist. The brussel sprouts were OK, I thought it could’ve had less mustard. The tots were hot, crispy and tasted freshly fried. Overall this place is just alright. I probably won’t frequent it much mainly because of the price and even though the portions are generous, I tend to not like eating such large quantities during lunch time.

This place definitely deserves better than the 3.5 stars it currently has. I’d give it more of a 4.5 stars, but I like this place so l’ll round up. FOOD: 4.5 stars So far everything I’ve had has impressed me. My go-to is the ¼ ROTISSERIECHICKEN dark meat with ROASTEDBRUSSELSPROUTS and ROASTEDBEETS. Delicious!!! The chicken is moist, had a great wood fire taste, crisp skin, and the gravy is a nice bonus to an already good flavor. The brussel sprouts have a great flavor. I think they add some Dijon mustard, which I normally don’t like, but it works well here. The roasted beets after tender and flavorful. The portion size is good, but $ 15 – 17 is a bit steep. A couple dollars less would be a fairer price IMO. Today I had the FRITZIBURGER with the POTATOWAFFLE. The bacon beef patty was cooked medium to perfection and the flavor was great. The fontina cheese blended well with the meat and the toasted, buttered brioche bun was the icing on the cake. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they did a burger. The potato waffle was perfectly crispy, as others have also commented, and pairing it with a spicy ketchup was awesome. $ 12 for all that was again a dollar or two higher than what I would have liked to pay, but I left satisfied nonetheless. SERVICE: 4 stars Simple system but pretty well executed. Order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to you. The menu is easy enough to navigate and the food comes out at a decent speed. Having bottles of water and cups on the side, along with a small note to encourage you to help yourself to water is a classy and generous gesture. AMBIANCE: 4.5 stars The interior has a nice black and white contrasted contemporary feel to it. It’s overall a bit quiet, but never uncomfortably so. Nice mix of high and low seating and the lighting choices fit the vibe. Having a small flower or succulent on each table is also a nice detail. The energy of the place is on the lower side, but it’s a nice place to bring some friends and have an intimate conversation.

Fritzi is decent. Not a place I’d go out of my way to eat at though. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with brussels sprouts. I went with the dark meat option. The serving size was decent, and will definitely fill you up. The brussels sprouts were good and buttery. That is, until I got about halfway done with it. Then it became too buttery and rich that I couldn’t finish the rest. They might want to lay off the oil. My bf had the chicken pot pie. He said that it was mostly crust and very little chicken. He does not recommend it. On the positive side, their beer is good! Would I come back to Fritzi again? Most likely not.

We were in the area for an art opening, and(to be honest) we only ended up here because Wurstkuche had an enormous line. We happened to stumble into their soft opening, so we were one of the first diners. The setting is a bit dismal, but I did like my Grapefruit Collins with vodka. For dinner, I ordered the Santa Barbara white fish. It was good, but nothing really memorable.

Fritzi is next door to the Arts District Brewing Co., but you can also order some Fritzi items from a window inside the brewery. If you’re after the Fritzi dogs, those are only available during lunch at Fritzi or via the window at the brewery. Anyhow, a couple of friends and I came to check out this new casual spot by Chef Neal Fraser and were not that impressed, sadly. I got the turkey FRITZIBURGER which turned out to be a poor choice. It was small, kind of bland and not worth the price at all. Thankfully it came with a choice of fries, tots or potato waffle. The tots were great, as was the beer I ordered. I would come back for those at least.

Friends and I had this at arts district brewing and I was so disappointed with the fritzi dog, it sounded amazing but it was flavorless even though it had all the crazy toppings on top. :/in addition to the dog, I got a side of fries to share with friends as the lady at the register said it was about a half a pound of friends. Boy, that was the stingiest«half a pound of fries» for $ 5. I really wanted to like it, as I like the beer at arts district brewing and it would’ve been so convenient to be able To eat there as well. Go to wurstkuche across the street, same price, better quality, and more food.

This restaurant is located in the arts district a few doors down from Pie Hole. You walk in and order food at the front and sit down at the table of your choice and then pick up the food when it’s ready. I got the chicken salad(forgot the actual name) and it was literally lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and chicken for $ 12. Pricey and portion was very small. But it was clean and chicken was tasty so I enjoyed it while I was eating but probably would not come back and order it again. Also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts with mustard seeds– this was also pretty tasty but nothing to really rave about. The whole restaurant filled with smoke while we were eating and none of the staff acknowledged it. People starting walking out of the restaurant because it was so bad. My friend and I waited it out a bit but it got to the point where we couldn’t sit in there much longer so we walked out, waving our hands infront of our faces cus the smoke was so bad and the cashier chuckled and yelled out a «sorrryyyy». So much for customer service. Probably would not be back. Chicken was good but nothing else too special about the food and customer service was terrible.

Fritzi is an amazing place for pretty much any occasion, lunch or dinner: Date night, business lunch meeting or girls night. I have done each one, and I have been really impressed. Great addition to DTLA’s arts district. Their juicy ground beef/bacon burger is excellent, the cheese is amazing, the bun is just the perfect amount of bun that you would want. I also really enjoy the turkey burger if you want something less heavy/still filling for lunch. Can’t go wrong with the Fritzi Hot dogs — the Loaded Carrot dog(a sous vide whole carrot) with the brussels toppling over it is perfect for vegans(and non vegans like me). It’s awesome. My favorite dish is the Wood Fired Rotisserie Chicken WITH the cheesy waffle potato and the colorful spit roasted cauliflower! You can’t go wrong with this dish. Chef Fraser has perfected it. You also can’t go wrong with the Rainbow Trout for somewhat of a lighter meal too… I am seafood lover, and really love this dish. The cocktails are all on point. But I go for the awesome beer ;)

The rotisserie chicken is their speciality and I found it unfortunate to be as terrible as it was. There was a strong brine flavor, similar taste to a thanksgiving turkey but so much so the chicken meat was an odd«gummy» texture in odd random places. I couldn’t tell if the meat closer to the bone was very undercooked or completely turned to mush from the brine. As far as preparation goes they did a very sloppy job and left the wishbone intact making it annoying to cut the breast and finding random shards of chicken bone in the breast parts of the meat. To finish off the rotisserie chicken was the lingering refrigerator taste that wouldn’t go away. Not fresh, over brined, and refrigerated too long, skip the chicken dish and just get a burger or hot dog.

Hi! So today I was in the downtown arts district roaming around aimlessly looking for good food. I saw pics of this place on Instagram and it looked worthy of trying. I ordered the rotisserie chicken(white meat),(which I believe is their main entrée) waffle potato, roasted cauliflower and Sautéed Brussel sprouts. The chicken was ok. I found the Brussels a bit too oily, but the flavor was there, I even liked the mustard seeds in the sauté. They had dipping sauces for the chicken, I paid extra to try the(3) sauces I only enjoyed one. It would be nice to sample them before you purchase them. The red sauce is the one I enjoyed most. They have fresh drinks that they make in house and I was very delighted with my house made lemonade. My friend had the burger, he raved about it, even though he said it was small, he said the flavor was amazing! I wouldn’t order the chicken again, but I would go back and try their chicken hotdog as it looked appealing. Also their waffle potato fries are worth the trip.

I do not go one day(since 1972) when I don’t say, or at very least think of a quote from The Godfather Part 1 to incorporate into my «everyday» life. It’s crazy. Don Corleone is always sitting on my right shoulder. More troublesome(now) is who has been sitting on my left shoulder these last several months: Jules from Pulp Fiction more specifically, when Jules bites into Bret’s Kahuna Burger and utters: Hummmm, this is a tasty burger! Well hello Jules, again today, because I had a VERY tasty burger here at Fritzi Window. The burger has now made me extend my Top 5 — L.A. burgers to Top 10. This mini quest of mine since summer 2015 to find the«best» burger in Los Angeles has turned up some incredible eateries. So much so I have given up trying to find the«best» and turned it into just keeping my «Sensational» streak going. Mission accomplished Fritzi Window! Fritzi Window came very highly recommended, and why not? This restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Neal Fraser of Redbird and BLD. These are some pretty lofty credentials! He does not disappoint here. The trendy digs in the downtown art district is stark, sterile and chic and I mean that as a compliment. The service is warm, helpful and eager to serve and make my dining experience very nice. But it’s that(tasty) burger that did me in. I got a blend of beef and bacon meat burger loaded with secret sauce this and gobbily-goop that and viola the end result was this beautiful shmutsy(messy in Yiddish) creation that tastes every bit as good as it looks and smells. I ordered my burger with potato waffles that are as close to being fried mashed potatoes as you can get. Just Really Really Really Good and Smart! What can I say, I LOVED this place; so much so I am bringing my wife here next week so I can hear her pooh pooh it, as shmutsy is not her thing. Can’t wait for this one!

I really wanted to love this place. But I just couldn’t! I had the tater tots, potato waffles, and a chicken sandwich. The tots were just regular tots, scrumptious and greasy. The waffles were not that tasty. When you eat a tater tot then try the waffle you do a disservice to the waffle because it will taste bland and awkward because of the cheese. So either get the tots or the waffle but I suggest the tots. The chicken sandwich was the size of my palm, a fancy slider. when we got our order we were taken aback. We just spent 7 dollars for two potato chip sized chicken strips in a bun crust– missing the bread inside. I liked the cucumber but it wasn’t anything special. If I ever come here again, I will give other items a try, but I won’t kill myself to come back. The hot dogs looked good and well portioned, our mistake in not getting those instead! I know the chef is the bomb and very well respected but after trying Red Bird and casual eats, I would say our tastebuds and wallet don’t jive.

Cool looking spot in the Arts District. Employees were friendly. Took a visit during lunch with couple of coworkers to give it a try and had no expectations. The décor and atmosphere is pretty neat. I ordered the Fritzi burger, which comes with a choice of 4oz bacon-beef blend, beef, or turkey patty, lettuce, 1000 sauce, relish, and fondue for the fabulous price of $ 11. Add an extra patty for $ 5. Both lunch and dinner menus state that the burger comes with a choice of tater tots, fries, or a potato waffle. But when I placed my ordered and inquired about that, cashier said nah and you gotta order it separately. So I ordered a potato waffle with cheddar and it was decent and crispy. The burger comes out smaller than the size of my fist and is wrapped in a lil blanket. Basically the size of a slider. For $ 11. Overall if you’re not hungry and want an appetizer for the price of a real meal, this is the spot.

Located inside the Arts District Brewing Co. Order at the window and pay there. They’ll give you a vibrating coaster thing and when it vibrates, head back to the window to pick up your order. I’ve enjoyed everything that I’ve tried here. I’M ADDICTEDTOTHEIRTATERTOTS! Mmmmmmm. Love the Snappy O’Brien dog(it’s got tots on it) Love the Four Alarm Fritzi dog(jalapeño relish, sriracha ketchup & super spicy mustard) I enjoy the burgers. I’ve had the beef burger & the bacon & beef burger. They’re both yummy and the toppings & bun are just right. Some people have told me that they think the burger is a bit small. It’s not large but I gotta get tots with it and the burger + tots & a beer is great and I still have room left for one more beer for dessert. My friends say the ham fries are good but I haven’t tried them yet(because of my tater tot addiction). I hear good things about their Carrot Dog and I really want to try it soon. It’s a whole carrot specially cooked and prepared in 26 spices + it’s got brussels sprouts on top. Sounds strange but everyone that I’ve seen eating it has recommended it to me. I still gotta try their potato waffle & the rock shrimp tempura. The staff is wonderful. Fun and friendly. They are open fairly late for the area(they usually close 30 mins before the brewery) and I am enjoying another option for late night food in the Arts District. They have a large space in the front of the building which is not yet open. I believe in the future, that spot will sell rotisserie chicken(and I assume an expanded menu).

Located inside the new Arts District Brewery, Fritzi is a great idea but severely overpriced. We had the chicken sandwich, bar burger, two hotdogs and fries and the bill was 45 bucks. My bar burger was delicious however it was teeny tiny for $ 8.50. My 4 beer sampler was cheaper at $ 8. The hot dogs were good but also overpriced since the sausages were pretty thin. The fries oh good lord the fries… I think I counted 12 fries in total. The four of us got 3 each! Make the burgers bigger and charge me $ 10 for it or make them smaller and give me two. The hot dogs I don’t know… there’s a pretty famous sausage joint around the corner that has bigger, better ones at the same price or cheaper. The fries are just damn stingy. Overall the food isn’t bad. It’s actually pretty decent but at that price point, they’re going to have some disgruntled(hangry) patrons. I’ll stick to the beer for now and wander elsewhere for food.

So excited about this place being attached to Artist District Brewing. There’s nothing worse than going to a brewery and the only option is pretzels, or chips, or some sort of jerky. Most have food trucks but that’s even a toss up. I love that Fritzi is attached because if I can get something tasty I’ll stay and maybe have 3 beers. Ok, 4 beers at Artist District Brewing. We tried the tater tots and the rock shrimp and both were delicious. I’m pretty sure me and the bf fought over the last of each. They came with 3 sauces and I don’t know what they were but they were bomb. One was spicy and the other was some sort of aioli, I think. Listen, I don’t do details but I know bomb when I taste it. On top of that is service is great and your food comes out quickly. How can you beat all that?
