I’ve been slow and methodic about getting several African Art paintings framed. So I had gone to FrameStore a while back to frame my first piece and recently returned with another piece. I was a bit hesitant because the woman who assisted me had left the state… and I was so happy with her. But I met Arin Antonneau, we talked, looked at several frame borders, matting, and I went with what Arin suggested. I trusted her… And I must say I was so delighted when I saw it in the window dislay! And I’m extremely happy with her suggestions and how the painting came out as it now sits on my wall! Thank you Arin and the FrameStore.

My review is soley about the frame store. Have a $ 100 discount from living social AND there is a 50% off custom frame special sign at their store. My attempt to get a cheap picture that cost around $ 25 from in Polynesia was going to cost me $ 470 AFTER the 50% off special AND $ 100 living social discount! Went and got this exact frame, back matte done at store less than 10 minutes away from this store for $ 145. Is this is how much everything costs at this store? Go elsewhere!

My wife and I went in to get something framed. We had an idea what we wanted. Half of the lights were burned out in the store so we couldn’t see very well. We tried to pick some options for a custom frame (only the frame itself was going to change; the rest – uv glass, etc – we knew rough prices for). So we picked a frame that might have looked good and got the clerk to price it out.
$ 600, and our previous quote had been $ 380 from Stone Art in Santa Monica.
But! In my pocket I had a 50% off coupon from Valpak! So this is actually a pretty good deal! I brought out the coupon. «So this would actually be $ 300, minus… what’s the discount for over $ 600?»
The clerk corrected me. «I already applied the coupon.»
What?
«How did you know we had a coupon?»
«Oh we always apply it. As long as you fill out this thing with all your contact information» (so we can sell you to marketing companies).
«Wait, AND the price is $ 600??»
So if you want to pay nearly double for a chain that somehow can’t afford to keep the lights on, literally, head on down to Framestore.

This place is the absolute best. They do very precise and fine work, and they have a super friendly and informative staff!
I originally tried these guys with a civil war era newspaper that I wanted mounted and custom framed with museum quality glass. I couldn’t have been more pleased with their work, and have since been back to see them countless times with original pieces of art, awards, etc.
I have also taken them three art pieces that had previously been improperly and shoddily mounted/​framed by one of the big chain frame stores (*cough* rhymes with Baron Smothers *cough*). They were able to fix all three and smooth them out to perfection.
I highly recommend them for all of your priceless pieces!

Bad isn’t bad enough to describe my experience at the Frame Store. I brought them a priceless autograph to frame. When I picked it up there was a huge magic marker line running through the whole piece. I don’t know how they did this and why they did this. It’s amazing they could treat a customers art with such careless disregard. More amazing, they actually continued to frame the autograph and have me come to the store to pick it up.
I think this experience speaks volumes about the kind of operation Frame Store runs.

I’m very impressed with Unilocal and it has really been great for me when I want to find a well established and well reviewed vendor, restaurant, etc.
So I feel indebted to give back whether i find a place that’s stellar or… not so much…
I recently purchased a custom made frame here with Tava (the manager) and the service was amazing!
When i received my frame, it was as good if not better than i expected!
I normally use Aaron brothers on westwood for all my framing but their service was absolutely horrid… but that’s another Unilocal review altogether!
I think their prices are somewhat high but i also believe that you ALWAYS get what you pay for! Kudos to this store and Tava!
