Great service, clean space with high ceilings, and thus the three stars. Food was okay. My posole was bland, my husband’s bfast burrito was sad, especially for $ 12. Googly bacon is always a bad sign. On the other hand, my mom’s carrot ginger soup was good, as was my dad’s grilled fish sandwich. Overall, I would suggest ordering the non-Mexican items. They seem to do better with that. As for myself, I probably won’t be coming back unless it’s for something simple.

Not a huge fan of their food… But I AM obsessed with their basil lemonade and their chickpea appetizer!

Food was okay. Had Mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Having servers is not practical for this type of food establishment, but the service and food were great, nonetheless

The food was really good. Cute little café that’s great for lunch. Staff was friendly. The mac n cheese was cold when brought out & when we told them, he took it back but it wasn’t super warm when they brought it out a second time. I’m an in between if I’ll try this place again.

I’m always impressed by the servers at Four Café — they’re friendly, upbeat and quick. A lot of them appear to be very young which makes it all the more surprising to me how consistently professional they are. I think it says something good about a company when the staff is all very friendly and stick around for a long time. Also, since my last review, there seem to usually be two cashiers and the line moves quickly now. Menu changes every quarter. A lot of healthy options and the ingredients always taste fresh. My favorite thing to get here is a refreshing salad with tofu added as the protein. They have salads, soups, appetizers, sandwiches, and some deli sides, as well as a kid’s menu, drinks like interesting lemonades, and lots of desserts. When it’s in season, the mexican hot chocolate cookie is amazing. VEGANNOTES: They have many things marked«vegan option» but you’re just getting the menu item minus some ingredients for the same price and you’re not allowed to substitute in that scenario which sucks. Also, beware that thrice I have ordered a sandwich and asked for the vegan option and they removed the cheese but used a dressing that was not vegan — so doublecheck if you’re uncertain or have allergies.

I’ve been here many times and everything I’ve tired has been very tasty! my favorite is the portobello mushroom sandwich! but I think the best best best thing is their salad dressing! what is it made of and can I get a bottle??? :) all there food is local and organic. the meat are all responsibly raised and you can really taste the different. great quality food at semi high prices so we come here when we want to spurge a lil but also eat heathy.

I come here for lunch whenever I’m in Eagle Rock and I would rate their food and establishment a solid 3.5 stars. Food is good but service is always a bit sluggish, but that’s ok, I’m not expecting a Michelin star experience. However, what prompts me to log this review is the appalling experience I had last Tuesday when I stopped by for lunch with my young one. Ordered kid’s pasta and 2 side dishes(all they need to do was scoop the pre-made stuff) and it took 40 minutes. I asked the waitress about it she brushed me off. After 2 other orders placed after me were up I asked again to the same girl and again she told me to wait. Finally got someone else to pay enough attention to fetch me my food. Turns out the pasta(extremely overdone btw) was out and was sitting on counter for 10 min waiting for someone to scoop the side orders into containers. On my way out I told the waitress that next time she could perhaps be more attentive and actually check on the order when a customer is sitting there for 40 minutes with a 4 yo who was growing hangrier by the minute. She responded«it wasn’t my job as a runner to do that.» No my dear, it Is DEFINITELY your job to take care of your customers who make it possible for you to have a job. Seriously.

Four Café is one of those places where you order at the counter and someone brings you your food but everything else is self service. I got a chicken pesto panini and my boyfriend got a turkey cranberry panini and we split them. Both were good, but not anything amazing and nothing I would come back for. The side salad had a variety of greens, which was nice, but just a little too much dressing and nothing else besides greens, not even a single tomato. The self serve water cups are actual regular size glasses, which I appreciated. The interior was cute enough but again nothing special. It was a decent enough lunch on the way to the Descanso botanical gardens, but if I’m in the area again I’ll probably go somewhere else.

FACT: The«Four» in Four Café is the four seasons that allows the café to create seasonal menus. Ok that was pretty obvious but I think it’s cool they have a new menu every season! I experienced the Winter Season Menu! Here’s what I had: BRAISEDBEEFGRILLEDCHEESE — $ 14.50 Slow cooked beef, gruyère cheese, onion & horseradish on country white bread. Served with a mixed green salad. This thin sandwich was really really really good. However it’s not shareable like most sandwiches because it’s not very much of it, even with their yummy salad that comes with it. There was a good amount of tender braised beef with a slight hint of horseradish, so anyone sensitive to spice can eat it. I really enjoyed this, but it was the most expensive thing on the menu, and when sharing, you’ll still want more food. MAC ‘N CHEESE w/hidden squash purée — $ 6.25 This is found under the kids menu, but anyone at any age can order it, and I’m so glad I did! Here’s why: the Braised Beef Grilled Cheese was not enough food, haha. Also, because this was really tasty! I’d like to tell myself that the squash purée made this an alternative healthier version, which gave it that same creamy-ness we love about Mac n cheese! So I told myself that perhaps less actual cream is used and therefore is not as unhealthy, right? Hehe. When I saw it being brought to me, it was in this HUGE bowl and I got excited thinking its a huge portion. Bou was I wrong, because the Mac in cheese was baked in a small ceramic bowl, and to prevent myself(or a child) from burning themselves, it was placed in a larger bowl. This ooey-gooey Mac n cheese was although a small portion, it was delightful! BROWNBUTTERLAVENDERSHORTBREADCOOKIE — $ 3 I usually feel ok when it comes to desserts and treats that have lavender in them, hoping that it would be amazing… which finally happened when I ate this cookie!!! This delicate treat is dense and can get crumbly(that’s what shortbreads are) with this nice balance or sweet and salty taste and the subtle lavender flavor(which you can see in the cookie!) didn’t taste like o was eating soap! Even my friend who never likes anything lavender flavored enjoyed this! I felt $ 3 is a lot, but how often do I come across an amazing lavender treat like this one! I recommend giving this a try! I advise to eat it and not pack it(the top layer of the cookie will stick to the paper and it will crumble). This café is so cute, and I felt lucky finding a table. You have to order before sitting down with your number. I love their back wall – beautiful! As much as I enjoyed the food here, it’s really expensive in my opinion… maybe I’ll just go for the lavender shortbread cookie :) Free parking can be found a block away where the library is.

Wow. A night out on the town in Eagle Rock. Scrumptious salads at Four at 2122 Colorado. Roasted vegetables(kabocha) greens walnuts sweet feta sunflower seeds + protein. Yum. High ceilings. Fun music. Smashed my forehead on clean glass door to the facilities in back. Way too clean. Way too distracted? Fresh cool delicious salad brought me back to happiness. Mike from Northridge

One time I decided to eat lunch in Eagle Rock. Two of the items I ordered were favorites of the counter staff. Three times I asked about pastries. Four Café staff were in good spirits. Five out of Ten is where I would rate the heat of the pasilla chile on my sandwich. Six pastries looked yummy. Seven brides for seven brothers is a stupid name for a show or movie. Eight customers lined up while I ate my lunch. Nine black squares are in the art by my table(pictured) Ten out of ten is the likelihood I will keep Four Café in mind for lunch in Eagle Rock.

Blah! Had brunch here with my boyfriend on Sunday and I definitely didn’t have a good experience with the food. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito — I felt like I was eating just tortilla — there were some eggs, black beans, avocado and cheese but it was mostly two big pieces of tortilla. Worse of all I paid extra for bacon but there was no bacon at all — I realized it too late so I didn’t say anything– didn’t want them thinking I ate it or something but I felt ripped off. the roasted potatoes were meh — was under cooked. My boyfriend had the Pulled pork and egg sandwich — it was better than my burrito but the bread was soggy on the bottom. also came with potatoes. I also had an iced coffee which was okay though would have been better if they had liquid sweetener because it was hard to dissolve brown sugar in iced coffee. The service was okay — it wasn’t waitress service, you order upfront and they bring you the food — so not much service to speak of. Not a good first experience and the choices on their menu isn’t attractive enough for me to want to come back.

Shame on me for overlooking this place. When I’m around this area I primarily go to Oinksters and disregard other restaurants in the general area. Four Café… you are relevant and totally got my attention now! Service: At first, my friend and I felt like damsels in distress. After a minute, the staffers made our first visit soo enjoyable. They explained all the nooks and crannies of the ordering process and gave some great recommendations. Food came out at a decent time. Order process: Order and pay first… then find a table. If everyone in your party is not present, reserve a table and order/pay later. For tips, tip the staffer after the meal. They have a tip jar in front of the register or just leave it on the table. Food: Shared two plates: 1) Brie roasted grape grilled cheese(roasted red grapes and brie cheese!): Goodness! If you guys love brie cheese, do me a solid and get it! Prior to ordering this bad boy, I asked Britney(server) how it was and she basically replied with one word… AMAZING! Britney was spot on and long story short… this has john’s stamp of approval all over it! Tip: If you decide to make it a combo and want a recommendation about what soup to get. Please get the red curry kabocha squash soup(contains sweet potato and lemongras). Hearty, but darn good! Make sure you squeeze some lime juice, stir the soup up, and proceed to take in spoonfuls. 2) Grilled fish burger(mahi mahi, pickled red onion, cheddar cheese, tartar slaw on brioche bun): Anything with tartar sauce, I am game! The mahi mahi was tender and had a decent amount of flavor. Loved every bite of it. Come and get your grub on! You won’t be sorrrry! :)

Came here for lunch with my husband for a healthy lunch. Unfortunately we both left feeling sick from all the heaviness of the food. I ordered the BLTA($ 13) which substituted the bacon with tempeh. I love this at M café, but at Four Café, it was just too heavy. Maybe it was the heavy amount of mayonnaise or the fact that the tempeh is drenched in sauce. But I ended up with a heavy, soggy mess. Service was friendly and street parking was easy to find. Seating is first come first service. There are a few outdoor seating areas also if you have 4 legged friends. Not sure I would come back again. We were a little underwhelmed, especially for the price.

Headed on over after doing the La Loma stairs and was famished! I was excited for the above average ratings, but disappointed by the food. There was nothing that was overly appealing to me. This was fuel for my body, that was all. I thought maybe I was being too harsh, no. My friend felt the same way. Even now the food just doesn’t illicit anything from me. On to better things.

This place can get pricey, especially if you do salad add ons. But the salads are soooo good! You definitely don’t feel like a rabbit eating sad vegetables!!! YOURTUMMYWILLNOTBESAD. And excellent chocolate chip cookies!!! This place gets 5 stars just because the salads are that good.

Was traveling back to the west side from Pasadena today when I Unilocaled a healthy option in the area. Four Café was one of the options that really stood out. It was super hot outside and I wanted a refreshing salad/something light and healthy… Well I’m glad I listened to Unilocal and choose Four Café. First off the dude at the cash register, Anthony, was super welcoming and full of personality. Really gave off good vibes, I automatically knew I’d be coming back. Haha I told him it was my first time at Four Café and I wanted to try one of their best dishes. He really gave me a solid run down of the menu and took his time which I really appreciated. I went with the grilled veggie green salad and added half chicken to it. Glad I did because I had no regrets. Large portion of salad with plenty of grilled chicken. I was pleasantly surprised and had the perfect blend of veggies, greens, and dressing. Very flavorful and light! I also tried the basil lemonade which was perfect in this heat outside. Service A++(shout out to Anthony!) Food A+ Atmosphere A+ Highly recommended!
