Love the pool table… the bartender was very cool, and the drinks were nice and stiff!

Didn’t like the pool tables so close to the dance floor, but it’s a nice little dive bar. Be sure to look them up on facebook and instagram for info on DJs playing, they play different music every night, it’s awesome!

Great bar, but I think I lost my keys there. Unfortunately they NEVER answer their phone, while they’re open or before. So instead of being able to call them and ask them, like a reasonable business, I have to go in there. TERRIBLE customer service.

One of my favorite bars in LA. Good crowd, strong drinks, outdoor patio and great music. Bartenders are fast and friendly, so don’t forget to tip them!

They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. One of the best bars in LA. Dark, good music, good drinks, pool table, everything you need.

The place itself it’s alright, I asked one of the female bartenders«hey when you’re not busy could I please have water », she responded«well I’m busy » no shit I know you’re busy I said when you’re not. I’m sorry but isn’t their their job to provide service.

Warm beer and no Bloody Mary mix. Been here twice and they always seem to be out of Bloody Mary mix.

Fun dark divey bar with a little room for a cozy dance floor in front of the jukebox. A dj was tucked away next to the front entrance. I think it’s only street parking but it wasn’t a problem for me and my coworkers on a late Sunday night. Bonus that they have a self serve water dispenser on the side so you don’t have to pester the bartenders when it’s packed. There’s a lot of seats at the tables, booths, and bars and a pool table as well and although I don’t remember my bf’s cocktail, it did taste strong and well made. This goes without saying, but play nice there so they won’t kick you out. Good place to meet up with friends or tuck away in a dark corner to make out with someone. No food but there’s a taco joint down the street.

The bartender with the bright red hair was such a bitch. She provided the worst service and gave me the biggest attitude when I asked for another drink. The place isn’t even that attractive and she didn’t make it any better. What’s a bar without a good bartender? Not worth your time

My friends and I had fun at this dive bar. Music was great but I couldn’t give all my started because the service was not up to par with everything else. We were charged wrong and then made to feel like we were lying. :-/who does that?

Alrighty! So I am an old man who works in the bar industry and never really goes out. But a customer at the bar told me he loves our spot and Footsies. I told him if I ever got the chance I would stop by and last night I did. I must say it was a pleasant surprise. The lighting was perfect! No spot lights and it wasn’t a dark cave hiding oogly people. DJ was spinning Prince so that’s always good. Drink prices were $ 12for a shot of jack and a PBR. So not bad at all. The people/customers were a mix of everything. Tatted up bearded guys like myself to young college kids out on a school night. Would definitely recommend this place. It’s so Eastside!!!

Two stars for the drinks and venue. Unfortunately, I took three away for the horrid customer service. Second time at this cool bar and can’t figure out why they are so darn rude. A woman the first time and a guy the second:/

Sad day for footsies, I say this due to the fact that I’ve been such a strong advocate for this LA classic dive bar! I’m hungover and don’t feel much like writing this review, but I’m upset and feel compelled to do so! When I arrived last night it was my first night out in weeks so I was really looking forward to hearing some good music and stiff drinks. Unfortunately for the second time I got overcharged and once again have to call my credit card company to straighten it out! I wish management would get a clue and realize they’re staff is overcharging there customers which is gonna keep us from coming back in the future. All that said I’m really pulling for these guys to get there act together I’ve been coming here for years that’s why this cuts so deep!

Definitely experienced better dive bars around town. Stopped by about 10:30p with a friend and we literally couldn’t hear each other and we were screaming to one another in the booth. Music is blaring and it’s not even good music. I’m ok with divey, hipster, rock/metal music but this was just crap and you could tell a lot of people weren’t enjoying it. Turn it down just a few decibels please. Either way, not coming back.

Been coming to footsies since before it was safe to do so. Still The coolest bar in the city. Just the right amount of attitude so if you’re the type that’s not accepting of people being themselves then go to some fake ass bar somewhere else. The crowd is diverse. Drinks are great and the service is awesome. Good people. Good music. Good vibe.

For some reason the bartenders think they control the bar. They are rude and they skip people to serve others they think are more«worthy». Beware of Abby she was super rude to one of my friends and pretty much told him he was last to get a drink. RUDERUDERUDE.

Seriously? They need to learn how to serve people by first in first out. Abby decided to play the boss role and put my friend«last in line» because she decides who orders when. Thats not how you run a business. No one was being rude to her but i guess thats how she rolls.

Consistently horrible service. The bartenders WILL take orders from the people they know and like before they even consider taking your order. Be warned.

My boyfriend ordered a red bull and vodka from a blond woman bartender. Whatever she made him was terrible and tasted like plain soda water. We ordered another from the other bartender and he said they don’t even have red bull. I guess this other lady didn’t give a shit? Idk the guy was nice and gave us a free one for our troubles. Besides that the music is always fun and loud and people are always dancing. It’s a good time despite the bartender with a shit attitude.

I love the look of this place and the people — just a «be yourself» crowd that’s very diverse. The only thing that makes me think I have to stop going here is that the last 3 times I went(all since the beginning of this year), the DJ was playing the music SOFREAKIN’ LOUD that everyone left the main room and went out to the patio to escape the deafening din. At the booths inside, because of the loud music you have to shout at your table-mates until you are hoarse in the throat. I know they’re trying really hard to be rock’n’roll, but a bar where the loud music prevents socializing is not my kind of place. If I want to go to a punk show, I’ll buy tickets and go. When I go to a bar, I want to be able to have a conversation. If anyone else feels the same way about Footsie’s, let’s hear it here. TONEDOWNTHE DJs … PLEASE!

The music is always hit or miss for me really depends on the dj. Place is super crowded and the bartenders are JERKS!!! all of them, and not to mention the last time I was there the bar back kept winking at me while my boyfriend was standing right next to me, kinda weird. Cool thing about it, they have a backyard where they have live bands, last time I was there we did see a Ramones cover band and they were terrible.

This place is great but avoid the blond trashy bartender that works here in the evenings. I am a local who’s been coming here for years!!! We get there and she was initially nice but once we asked for a «Michelada» she told us she didn’t have the ingredients so she would make it with a splash of Tapatio and a splash of lemon… Boring!!! But we agreed. Not more than 10 min later the barback comes pulls out the Tabasco, Tapatio, bloody marry mix, worschster, and the Clamato to make himself a bloody marry. These are the same ingredients that can be used or substituted to make a Michelada. Next we confront her and ask her why she lied to us and made us a poor drink.(Mind you she was texting since we got there). Next she tells us that«if you didn’t like the drink why would you drink it all»? Obviously because by then time our beer was done the barback had made his bloody marry and showed us all the ingredients! Are we suppose to be fortune tellers. She was so consumed with her text and so disinterested in making a decent drink that she brushed off any attempt to try and find more ingredients and has the nerve to treat us like idiots. According to her that’s how she makes them… And in Mexico they make them different throughout the country. She’s telling a Mexican about Mexico. Really! What bothered me the most was her rude attitude and smart ass remarks after she decided to lie to our face… Avoid her at all cost or bring a print out of what your drinks has in it so she can make it right. Great place but very disappointed with this night

The kind of dive bar you’ve been looking for. It’s dimly lit, it’s a little grungy, it’s not too dirty, the porridge is just right. 2 stars for the people here. You can be you, and that’s what we want. No one’s cultivating a scene, but everyone here brings some style to the table. Spaghetti Western doors in the front open you up to the bar on your right. It’s lengthy and generally not overly crowded. There’s a coin opporated pool table, not the best condition, but certainly not the worst. They have some pretty cool events here as there’s room to boogie. For example I went here to dance to some middle eastern mash ups. The DJ was great as he mixed in a lot of Beatles, 70’s, and various genres with his intimate knowledge of Middle Eastern jams. This was one of the better dance parties I’ve been too, and you certainly didn’t have to bee dancing the whole time. People were still conversing at the bar. When that’s still too stuffy you can always escape out back to the patio to get some fresh air, or smokey air, or something in-between. The back deck is awesome, there’s a few tables, and long benches sitting beneath several large red circular strung lanterns. If you are near Glassell park or looking for a true dive bar with a predominately 20’s-30’s crowd in LA, find Footsies.

DIVEBARINTHEDAHOOD!!! BACKGROUND: Footie’s is such a dive bar, they don’t even have a web page. Oddly enough they are on Twitter, have a Myspace page, and peeps can check-in on Swarm, formerly known as Foursquare. Located in the darker part of Glassell Park, this dive bar has been around for decades and the exterior and interior have both seen better days. But those are the things that make a dive bar a dive bar. STATS: Open Daily 5pm — 2am Happy Hour 5pm — 8pm daily. Serving Liquors as you like ‘em! Parking lot in the back EXPERIENCE: Although I grew up adjacent to Footie’s, I never paid much mind to it, or even considered stopping in. However, after spending several hours at another local bar with a friend, knowing I’d never been to Footie’s, friend suggested going to pay them a visit. Parking was easy and surprisingly plentiful on a Saturday night. A burly bouncer perched on a bar-stool just outside the old western type shutter doors, checks IDs of every visitor. Yay!!! Love that!!! The interior is dimly lit, with music from a jukebox blasting music chosen by patrons, a bar with stools, as well as booths and tables fill the room centering around a small dance floor. A coin operated pool table with a sofa for those awaiting their turn to play occupies the rear of this quaint watering hole. The bartenders are friendly and willing to mix just about any drink patrons come up with. Their beer selection, both on tap and bottled aren’t extensive, but induce a good choice. After all, again, it’s a dive bar, not a gastropub. Overall, it’s a pretty decent dive bar, you just have to get past the looks and feel of the hood. #BARS #DIVEBARS #BARSINDAHOOD #GLASSELLPARK #POOLTABLE #JUKEBOX
