I signed up about two months ago and am very happy with eRoots so far. Boxes cost $ 25 are are filled with organic, local, and pesticide-free produce. I chose to get a box every other week, which is the perfect amount for my fiancé and me. There is usually a good mix between fruits and vegetables in each box, and everything always tastes really fresh and delicious. My most recent box contained strawberries, plums, okra, collared greens, lettuce, mini bell peppers, melon, and kale. The plums and strawberries are very sweet and arrived ripe. In our last box, we got heirloom tomatoes, which was very exciting. I only wish that there were more pick up options in the evenings or something on the weekend since we work standard weekday hours; however, I know that this is run by a nonprofit and that they probably cannot afford to devote more staff hours to it. We get our box from the office on York. We were unable to come by this week during the pick up hours, so I emailed them the day before and they were willing to arrange a time for the following day when I could get my box. If you are looking for locally grown and pesticide-free produce, I definitely recommend trying eRoots.

What a find! We’ve eaten more kinds of healthy fruits & vegetables than ever before– because they’re good, easy, and they provide recipes so you have ideas for what to do with them. Have had a lot of fun trying them. From different sources and so interesting. The folks on York have always been friendly and helpful. Feels like a community place. And we like that the produce is local and wholesome.

I’m a new subscriber, and I’ve never done a CSA before e-roots. I am so impressed! The quality and variety of fruits and veggies is awesome. I love that I am supporting both my kids’ elementary school and a humanitarian nonprofit. I’m a fan.

Just received my first package from the Los Feliz CSA and I’m very happy. The strawberries were so delicious!

While I thought this was going to be a good cause to support, their lack of support of their subscribers is less than desirable. Perhaps it’s the site we chose for our pick up,(WAVERLY). They are incredibly unorganized — no parking by the school for pick-up, no one to supervise pick up(just sign and grab a box), and poor call-back when problems arise. Within one month of our joining(one box delivered) their«system» messed up our pick up schedule causing it to come and go a week earlier — thus causing us to miss a pick up. Their lack of prompt communication back to us to clarify exactly when we were scheduled for our next box caused us to miss ANOTHER pick up. And now they will not refund our money for the missed parcel. They contend they sent various emails and invoices — but they fail to admit that two of the five emails they sent were sent in error by their own admission. They failed to admit that when they finally did communicate with us it was after 6pm of the day we were to pick up — the hours were from 2:30 — 5. Thanks, eroots for the prompt attention to us. Both my husband and I work and do not sit at home all day trying to decipher their error messages so I send emails and voicemails which they take forever to respond to. And when they do call back one staff leaves a condescending message suggesting we set a reminder on our cell phone to remind up of our pick up day. Really? And which day would that be? The one we signed up for or the one your system screwed up due to a «leap year» glitch in your system? If you have nothing else better to do with your day then yes, use eroots. The one and only box we got was okay, at best, but I’ve used better services that at least communicate with their subscribers in a timely manner.

We love our produce box! We live in Mt Washington and there aren’t many options for finding fresh organic fruits and vegetables in the area. We pick up the box from our school, Mt Washington Elementary. Super convenient. Better still is the fact that $ 3 of the $ 21 goes to our garden committee, the organization that teaches our kids how to grow their own food, among hands on science project related to agriculture. Besides offering us healthy food they are helping grow a healthier community.
