As far as Chinese fast food goes, Egg Roll King is pretty good. I adore this place and have been coming here for quite some time. The proportions are very generous, I’ve actually never been able to finish the whole meal lol. The employees are very nice and always very welcoming. The food is also very inexpensive, especially there almond cookies(8 for a dollar!). I recommend anyone looking for a quick bite to try Egg Roll King out =D.

I walked in and asked the lady behind the counter if they accepted debit card«yes for a 1.00 fee» I was like okay cool 1 buck won’t kill me. They I went to the register to pay and she ran my $ 6.75 meal as $ 21.00ATM machine purchase. So I got my $ 13.25 change back. I received the 1.00 service fee charge from the restaurant as well as an out of chain bank ATM fee(at my bank is $ 3.00) For an extra $ 4.00 I could have went to Burger King and ate again. CAUTIONTHEREISNODEBITCARD transactions here it is an ATM Charge and you probably will result in extra bank charges. IF you Eat here which I will not ever do again PAYCASH.

Went here because I was seriously craving Chinese. It’s not horrible, but it’s not great either. The place is tiny. 3 booths. Back to back. You can squeeze in about 4 people per booth. And a little table top w stools for 3. I ordered a combo with fried rice, chow mein, bbq pork & pepper chicken. Rice was okay. The noodles we’re overcooked & bland. Not enough cabbage for my taste. The bbq pork was ok. Some pieces were nice and tender, others were super tough & chewy. Some pieces were cooked just fine, others were burnt. The pepper chicken was awesome. It’s best to pay with cash at this place. The do accept debit cards, but the card reader behind the counter is used as an ATM. My total was $ 7. The lady ran my card for $ 10& gave me $ 3 cash back. She said the credit card terminal can only be used as an ATM. Well aright! I’m not likely to come back here again. If I did I would play it safe & do a bowl with steamed rice & pepper chicken.

If you’re in the mood for cheap Chinese food this is the place to go. I got three things for under $ 6 dollars. Their portions are VERY large, and the food is decent. The staff are very nice as well. My only complaints would be a) Their BBQ pork wasn’t very good. I’m not a picky eater but their BBQ pork lacked flavor, and was watery. I usually love the cheap Chinese BBQ pork but I highly recommend they change their recipe. It tasted like a runny sweet n sour pork then a BBQ pork. b) They don’t accept credit cards. I’d eat here a lot more if they did since I never carry cash.

Quality/Quantity/Options: Just a half step up from Panda Express in terms of quality, which is fine, it is Chinese fast food. PE doesn’t really have good veggie options, which led me to try somewhere else. This place has no veggie options other than the rice, chow mien, and veggie egg rolls. Pretty good portions, just a tad less than PE. I was hoping for better based on other comments saying«big portions, good food!» But not at all what I, or my friend, got, and we were there at lunch time, which should usually mean it’s pretty fresh. Location/Service: Tiny place, only 3 tables, but very clean. The ladies were nice. Payment: You can pay with card but they will charge you a whole fricken’ dollar, this isn’t even because of a minimum payment, there is actually a fee of a dollar to use a card. So that basically means it’s a cash only place for me… Overall I walked away thinking, «Meh… I’d rather spend that $ 5 at El Tapatio Mexican food down the street on Glendale Ave.» Tapatio is good, it’s fresh, it’s fast, and I love the staff. Cash only but cheap and worth it.

I’m very impressed at the cleanliness, attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Restaurant was impeccably clean. Every time someone would leave, someone immediately came and wiped down the table. The 2 ladies behind the counter were very friendly, surprisingly, and had great speaking/personal skills. Did not feel rushed to get out, and the food was very delicious. Pleasant experience, will come again.

Great food and lots of it. We took our food to go and the gentleman who helped us(and appeared to be the owner) was really great to us… he even brought us a drink and snack while we waited! Can’t wait to eat here again.

Fast. Fresh. Clean. Super nice owners. I ordered a combo plate with BBQ pork and orange chicken– like you do!!! All very tasty and fresh. You can tell they take pride in their small family business. The food is honestly a 3.5 but they were so nice and clean I wanted to bump up their rating.

First off when I come in no one is in the front. Waited for about 5 minutes and still no one shows so I just speak out«excuse me» finally someone comes and I order orange chicken and fried rice and a thai tea. Thai tea was good, fried rice was whatever and orange chicken was a no. I did not like the sauce on it at all. Craving chinese? Try somewhere else.

Tasteless lukewarm Chinese food. I got really happy when I saw a Chinese food place since I had been craving it for a while. I was greatly disappointed. Rice and chow mein had no flavor or color. You get charged a fee for using your card. I am also saying worst to go Chinese food ever.

Rainy rainy cold windy day. Bridget girl is getting her bath at Woof and I’m killing time by laundering her bed at the Heavenly laundromat and am HUNGRY!!! Chinese sounds really good right now and is right next door. I walk in and check out all the offerings. Fried rice, noodles, beef brocoli, sweet n sour, shrimp, chicken with mushrooms and a few other offerings. I go for the 2 item lunch special. She asks, «half half?» «Sure!» So I get half fried rice and half noodles and she keeps piling and piling and piling it on! There is no way I’m going to even eat ¼ of this! And now for the 2 items… I choose the chicken because the mushrooms look amazing and the shrimp because it’s not beef or chicken or fried. She throws in 2 egg rolls and I get a sprite. For like $ 7 it’s a pretty good deal. I think I could have fed 4 people with all this food! I picked on it while I did the Bulldog’s laundry and it stayed super hot! I love that! I think that is one secret of piling it on, it stays hot! The mushrooms WERE amazing and the shrimp was good, not fishy or soft, it even had some of that krab in it, not my fav. I obviously didn’t eat it all and it wasn’t going to make it through the laundry session and the drive back downtown. So with my Chinese craving handled, I handed it off to a less fortunate and felt full and pleased to share. Thank you Egg Roll King. p. s. the eggroll was ok. I wish I would have gotten some sauce, like a sweet chili or mustard sauce, but it was all good.

Tried this place out on the recommendation of someone leading a work-related training nearby. She said she went to high school in the area and Egg Roll King was her favorite place to eat with friends back in the day. Yes, the portions are huge. Yes, the staff is very nice. Yes, there is a good variety of items to choose from. Yes, the prices are low. Yes, even the food laid out looks yummy. But the actual taste and quality were either meh or less-than-meh. And between my friend and I, we tried out several items including soup(noodle soup and wonton soup are offered) that are not on the menu but still available if you ask for it. Seeing how the people who work here are Asian, I was expecting better-tasting or even semi-authentic Chinese food from them. But given how nice those ladies were, I wish Egg Roll King all the best!

Awful food, the food tasted like it was 4 days old. The food came to 7 dollars, but the lady said she had to charge 10 dollars to my card and then gave me 3 dollars from the cash register. No idea what she was doing, they don’t make credit card machines like that, and she claimed it wasn’t a company policy. Avoid at all costs.

Great taste with huge portions for around 5 bucks!!! Panda Express :(very cheap with their portions. Panda’s noodles are low quality and dry when compared to the Egg Roll King. Panda’s rice is even worse… it tastes like they made it with flour and you’ll need a spoon to shovel it down. Egg Roll King uses the more expensive, aromatic and slightly sticky, Jasmine rice! The Egg Roll King’s Orange Chicken has way better texture and flavor than most. In Los Angeles, you won’t find many other places that give you twice as much than panda for about 20% less cash… You can feed a family of four with only 2 combos. Even their chopsticks are better quality than panda… and they serve BOBA Thai iced tea, too. I don’t know what these others are talking about, but this place has a steady stream of regular customers that have kept this place in business since the early 80s and always with an «A» rating posted.
