Donald R Henderson ,MD, MPH

Dr. Henderson is one of the BEST if not the BEST doctors around. My mother and I were referred to him about 4 or 5 years ago and I’m SO glad! I was previously going to a high profile Dr in Santa Monica that just didn’t care. Dr. Henderson is always available and when you call the emergency number HE calls back himself to assist you. He has been a total blessing and KNOWS some medicine and wont give it to you if you really don’t need it.
I’ve referred several friends to him and ALL were and are completely satisfied!
He really cares about the health of his patients and his staff ROCKS!

I would not recommend coming here. I called to make an appointment with Dr. Joy but because she was out of the office until Thursday and I was really sick, they said that Dr. Henderson could see me that afternoon. Off to a good start I thought! That’s where my luck ended…
My appointment was at 2:30 and I wasn’t called in until 3:15PM. The nurse took me into the room where I stayed for another 30 minutes alone. She then took my blood pressure and took a quick throat swab. Another 45 minutes later the doctor comes in. It’s now been over 2 hours since my appointment time. He took a quick look at my throat, ears and listened to my lungs, made some jokes and small talk and 10 minutes later, he was prescribing me the medicine.
As I checked out, the receptionist told me my insurance only covered 80% of the office visit and that I owed $ 80. I told her my insurance covers all but my copay to which she insisted it didn’t. I reluctantly paid the fee and after I left called my insurance company who confirmed that all I should’ve paid is the copay and not the $ 80. The insurance company tried calling the office to explain that to them but no one answered the phone. I finally got the Office Manager on the phone 2 days later and she said she’d refund me $ 15 ($ 35 copay because he’s a specialist) but I just checked my statement and instead of refunding me the $ 15 she charged me ANOTHER $ 15!
Also, that evening I went to pick up my prescription when low and behold it was never received by the pharmacy so I had to go back the next day (because they never answer the phone) to get my prescription again.
If you value your time (which it doesn’t seem like they do) avoid this office…
