Dolcini Caffe Espresso

Good service, the ham and cheese croissant is glorious and if you like a bit of spicy, have it with sriracha you wont regret it.

Overpriced boba drinks made of those powdered stuff. The lady behind the counter was really nice though. Perhaps the coffee is better. They have espresso machine so you know it’s not gonna be made out of powder.

Not a lot of places downtown that sell boba so I was excited to try this one. I’ve tried the one place in the fashion district (on pico) & the one in the Macy’s plaza’s food court. They both suck. It’s safe to say that Dolcini wins.
The lady behind the counter is beyond sweet.but.and it’s a big but. she does not speak English! So tragic.
I ordered a taro milk tea boba, which is what I always order, but she could not understand this. She was blurting out random words I cannot translate. There were a lot of «uh.» «huh?» «ta-​ro-​milk-​tea» in my end. (In as polite way possible, of course) She finally took my order and started making it. I saw over the counter that she was only making me a milk tea boba. I was like «no! (lol) I wanted TARO milk tea» she was like «this is milk tea!» and this went on till she was just like, «taro slushee?!» and I was like, «yea… Sure.» sigh.
I would’ve been pissed had my taro slushee tasted bad. But it didn’t. She made it well. ($ 4 no tax)
I’ll be back. Just cause its the best boba in this part of downtown. Also, they have yummy looking lunch plates on the menu. (rice bowls and such — $ 6.00) so I’ll be back to try that.

JapChae! One of my favorite noodle dish. I stumbled upon this little café on my way to get my Starbucks fix when I saw the photo-​signage for the JapChae for $ 6. SOOOO, my co-​worker and I stop by to try this place out last week. Unfortunately I walked by today and it’s no longer a special :*(BOOOO!
For $ 6, I got rice, the JapChae and beef! Not bad, even if it was just microwaved. The noodles were OK. The beef was tender, but lacked a little more flavor. She added the spicy sauce too — luckily I love spicy. I can’t recall if she asked me because at that point my mouth was already salivating. When she handed me my «to-​go» meal, she handed me napkins and hesitated to either give me a fork or chopsticks. I got the sticks because I did look more Asian than my co-​worker (who got a fork).
Well, I guess I can be on the lookout for the next time JapChae becomes a special. It’s the closest to getting Korean food in DTLA (across the street) without having to drive to K-​Town.

I walk by Caffe Dolicini every day to work. The owner/​manager is such a doll and is so sweet! I have never had a bad experience with the coffee or the food!
Location: Small, probably can fit 4 ppl at a time! but thats ok, I am usually in and out.
Food: I love her Breakfast special (2eggs +ham + cheese + coffee), it is delicious and hits the spot! I asked for a cheese bagel once but she didnt carry it. Sure enough the next time I went in, BOOM! Cheese bagels were in stock and she made sure to let me know that she remembered for me!
For lunch I have ordered the Beef & rice special. An amazing find for a small local café. Honestly you would never expect it! Ive had a few of the sandwiches that I can say are all way above average and what you would expect.

I usually stop here on my way to the office in the morning. I ordered coffee once — it was horrible. I usually get a bagel or a croissant — and the nice woman behind the counter always gives me the smallest one. Grrr… what’s that all about?
