Since couple Unilocal friends came here and rated pretty high, we have it a try. The concept of presenting the chocolate bar with a cup of hot milk is good. Basically you have to melt the chocolate bar into the milk, you can ask for soy milk too. It’s interesting of doing that. But the milk and was not hot enough, the thick chocolate bar melting slowly. The taste of the chocolate was not strong enough to me. The matcha that I had was good, not too sweet to me. The bacon scone was a bit dry. There’s a lot of people sitting around with their laptops, so it’s not that easy to find a seat. Parking on the side streets was not easy, I think they have valet parking.

I’ve come here a couple times before to study and do work because of the well-lit space and the abundance of electrical outlets, but Document has gotten significantly more popular recently, and it’s harder to find an open spot. So if you’re looking to spend the whole day here, come early! The coffee here is pretty good, not much to complain about. On a hot day, I’d probably go with the Document Cold, probably one of their most popular drinks, and if it’s a little cooler outside and I don’t need too much caffeine, heir Document Hot Chocolate(the solid piece of chocolate on a wooden stick that you mix into steaming hot milk) is wonderful. They also do a good job with their pour-over and espresso drinks, and they have an assortment of pastries and cookies if you get hungry. As with most coffee shops in ktown, prices here are a pretty high. Now that it’s so crowded here, I’ll probably go to other spots in DTLA that aren’t as expensive. But between their menu and clean yet quirky décor, Document is still definitely a favorite of mine.

Document does well in branding itself a «Coffee Bar.» Atmosphere is open with plenty of room to set up shop or spread out with a group, and the coffee options dive into mixes and options. The core lineup is standard coffee shop fare, with the house specials bringing maple syrup into the mix. Plenty of single origin pour over options for the aficionado, and some nice goodies including the delicious Parliament Chocolate made out in Redlands. One of the neater coffee spots I’ve found around koreatown. One star docked for the atmosphere being a bit too physically uncomfortable and«LA Chic» with hard lines– which is great visually but not so great on the back and neck.

Hmmm not sure why my impression is so different from the majority but I thought Document was just okay. Heard a lot of positive things as well as saw the high reviews so was excited to check out a new coffee place. Had the single origin cold brew with almond milk($ 5). I love cold brew and have tried a lot of different kinds and thought the one here was just okay. It was good but not amazing. Wasn’t a fan of the almond milk. Maybe the cold brew is better plain or with a different type of milk. Willing to give this place another shot. The seating arrangement here is kind of weird. It’s very long and linear. When we came Saturday afternoon it was insanely packed. Parking is free and there is a big lot in the back which is a plus.

Ambience 4⁄5: clean and modern. Love the school chairs with little baskets underneath. But the place seems a little industrial and cold and the walls are bare. Drink 4⁄5: document cold brew is delicious and refreshing. Not too sweet but a little steep at 5 $. Service 5⁄5: friendly and all smiles. Very cute.

Uh, I love everything about this place. I could stay here for days. Everyone is in their own world, feeding off a synergistic ambiance, enjoying their beverages(document cold is what they’re known for). And if you happen upon the(warmed) almond croissant, prepare to be delighted. Thank you for existing, document.

Le service est super agréable et dynamique! Nous avons pris un cold brew & cappucino, les boissons sont très bien réalisées et le café est de très bonne qualité.

Pretty easy to find when you pull in the parking lot — especially if you happen to ask the nearby Valet if it’s OK to park for the coffeehouse.(Yes, and parking is Free) While there are a few venues competing for space here(such as the Ramada), however, Document more than takes gentle command of its own space. Sleek, seemingly spacious and stripped down to the essentials: Tables(high and low, round and square) chairs that have baskets below for your stuff, a few stools, cool art and, of course, all that coffee, tea and more. The couple running the place make a good team doling out suggestions, explanations and, of course, your drinks and foodstuffs. Bakery from Monkey Cake, Coffees from around the world, and Teas from Korea. I tried two separate Pour-Overs: one from El Salvador and another from Kenya. Both were good and kept me focused; the Kenya hit more of the darker, deeper tones I like in coffee. In both cases, I asked the Document folks a few questions, and for their recommendations. Definitely more expensive than Starbucks, but worth it. The Almond Croissant was excellent, with one caveat: It was unevenly warmed-up. When I was asked if I wanted it warmed up, I again took their recommendation. Next time, I’d probably take it ‘as is.’ If it was microwaved, it wasn’t done long enough to make a noticeable temp difference. And, on the less happy side, the crusty exterior lost any sort of crunch by becoming a bit soft and almost gummy and bend-y. The croissant itself had a ton of flavor, though, with the sweet almond dancing inside my mouth. It’s easy to hang here for awhile to read, or have a little meeting. The chairs hard and uncomfortable, but they’re fine. And dang, the do go well with the place. Yes, one bathroom. It’s a big one, very well-maintained. There didn’t seem to be a ton of traffic back and forth, but it might make some a little concerned. Chill out and wait a couple minutes and you’re gonna be just fine.

Was in the area after a dentist appointment, so I swung by here to get some work done and skip traffic. Their menu consists mostly of coffee items, and since I’m not a coffee person, I got a tea, which was very mediocre. There are only six outlets in three areas and all were taken when I was there. Everyone seemed to be there for the long haul, so eventually I had to leave as my laptop battery was dying. They really need to add more outlets/extensions. Free street parking after 5 pm.

I love the vibe of this place. The staff is really knowledgeable and helpful when you ask them questions. Their espresso drinks are fantastic, but I usually get their Document Cold. The maple syrup in this drink is a good touch. Great place to work on your laptop if you need to.

This place is my go-to when I need to work on something. When it’s busy there might not be seats/outlets but eventually someone will leave and you can take their place. I always get the Document Cold… amazing. Their pastries are eh. But the cold brew makes up for it all. Parking is probably one of the biggest reasons why I love this place. There’s a huge lot for free on weekdays until 5pm and weekends until 4pm(I believe that’s what the valet guy told me).

One of my favorite cafes to buckle down, grab a really good cup of coffee & get some work done! Serious pros: 1) easy parking(I’ve actually never been here when it’s turned valet — if you come here before 5−6pm you should be good). The parking lot is huge! 2) great coffee — I always get their signature document cold brew with almond milk. This drink hits the spot as it is just the perfect amount of sweetness that you can still enjoy the pure taste of coffee 3) reliable wifi 4) for non-coffee drinkers, their smoothies are decent but a bit pricey(mango smoothie — $ 6) 5) decent service 6) has magical powers that make me very productive Some cons: 1) It’s ALWAYS crowded nowadays, and while I find the long big table with the elementary school chairs super cute, you can only fit one person working with a laptop on a side — meaning that it makes for potentially awkward seating situations where there are plenty of empty chairs but no actual place on the table. If the table was just a bit wider, then it’d fit double the amount of people! :O 2) Kinda pricey, but it’s Ktown… and the coffee here is actually really good. 3) You occasionally get really loud people who are yapping away and since everyone else is working, everyone can hear them. So not the best place to be dashing your heart out — the entire café will hear you and resent you. Even though this is a café not a library so it’s technically not your wrongdoing. Go elsewhere if you are trying to catch up with someone. Pros outweigh the cons by far — I would highly recommend this café for working, as long as you can find a seat! I wish I could bring Document with me to the east coast.

Fabulous spot to get some work done while sipping on coffee and tea. On your first sip, you will know the care they put in. Most folks at the coffee bar is pretty low-key since come here to study or work. The service at the counter is prompt and efficient. Nearest Metro Station: Purple Line at Wilshire/Western Station

Document is a very very sleek and nice café, and although it was only my first time here today… I definitely did get some work done, so YES it’s a good place for that. I also tried the document cold brew upon many recs and … it was good. Sorry I’m not much of a coffee person so I can’t say much more than that. ITWASGOOD! lol. Uhhh that’s all I got LOL… but I’ll be back. Yes I will.

This ktown coffee spot offers espresso based drinks, pour over featuring coffee from several roasters(such as Supersonic and Temple) and a wide variety of teas(not an afterthought here). I got their signature DOCUMENTCOLD, made with cold brew chicory coffee, milk and maple syrup. It’s a pretty drink(easily the most photographed drink here), and it’s not overly sweet. I found street parking, but there is parking available at a shared lot. According to the website, the entrance is on Wilshire Blvd and it’s free until 5 pm($ 1 valet after 5 pm). I walked in from the entrance on St. Andrews Place, but if you walk in from the lot, you’ll see the outdoor seating area. There are benches back there. Inside there’s even more seating at the counter and at numerous communal and private tables. I saw a sign that said dogs are allowed inside and I asked to double-check. Yep, polite dogs are allowed inside with a leash on! Free wifi so expect lots of laptops and studying/working/hanging out.

3.5STARS**** GOODCOLDBREW + EASYPARKING= GOODVIBES! I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops and cafes in my life but it’s always a struggle to find free/easy parking especially in LA. I usually like to study and get my work done so, I ain’t trying to pay like $ 5 – 10 for parking AND $ 5 for coffee… That’s just bad vibes. LOL… Thankfully, Document Coffee Bar shares a huge lot with other restaurants like M Grill and small shops in the plaza. Document is pretty spacious, they offer a good amount of tables for people who want to study and chill. I wouldn’t say that there’s an abundant amount of outlets available but there’s a good amount… I would say come early to get a bomb spot because it’s consistently busy throughout the day. They are known for the Document cold brew which is a chicory cold brew with maple syrup but I usually stick with their single origin cold brew! It’s a solid cold brew in my opinion. They also have smoothies, teas, and baked goods which I have yet to try. Overall, this is my go-to spot whenever I need to kill a lot of time or study in K-town!

Document has been and continues to be my go-to spot for coffee in the LA area. It’s a great spot to grab a coffee and hang out or study or anything you want to really. Expect to pay $ 5 – 7 for a drink but in my opinion, everything is well worth it and I’ve never heard otherwise from friends. My personal favorites are the standard cold brew, Document Cold, and the Hibiscus Lemonade. There are some days the cold brew tastes a bit too earthy and bitter for my taste but overall it’s pretty great. Everyone raves about the Document Cold and for good reason: it’s a solid latte(cold brew + milk + maple syrup) that will pretty much please anyone who likes coffee. For lighter, non-coffee fare, the hibiscus lemonade is just a tart, sweet lemonade that’ll make you feel much better on a hot day. There’s definitely something for any taste at Document. Document seems to be many people’s go-to study spot so expect to see a lot of 20 somethings hanging around forever on their laptops. Seating does get really limited after about 1 or 2PM every day so if you’re trying to study, come early! If you’re there just to hang out, there’s a super cute garden/patio outside that is arguably better to sit at than inside(if weather permits of course). Parking is free in the parking lot they share with M-Grill before 5PM.

I really wanted to like this place but the document cold was too bitter for me. I like my coffee with a little sweetness to it. But if you like strong coffee, this drink was definitely smooth and strong.

I had been wanting to visit Document Coffee Bar in Ktown for a while now. My sister went and tried their coffee weeks prior and raved about the so-called Document Cold Brew. Located on a busy street so it might be easy to miss! There is parking available behind the shop and it’s free after 6pm or you can just find street parking. On weekdays, it shouldn’t be that difficult to find parking. I enjoyed my Document Cold Brew which I ordered with almond milk. I definitely was able to taste the chicory-ness maple syrup to it, with the sweetness just being the right amount. Also it was super smooth and the coffee to milk ratio was spot on. Hands down one of the best cold brews I’ve had in a while.

Dropped by here to study while my partner-in-crime got some work done down the street(get some, brah). Only recently was I introduced to cold brew coffee, and now I’m more appreciative of quality brews beyond alcoholic beverages. Hey, San Diego is known for craft beers… I had the Document cold brew with 2% milk at the bottom, served in a small round glass. I’d imagine this place would go the mason-jar route with its hipster vibes, but the round cups are pretty cute anyway! The coffee was pretty tasty, although I’ve never had a bad cold brew before. The maple syrup added the perfect amount of sweetness without overpowering the coffee taste, which I appreciate. If you get their fresh hot coffee, you can see them grinding the beans and brewing a nice little batch every time, which is cool. The exterior is deceiving, as the interior is pretty spacious with high ceilings and plenty of community seating across long tables. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many outlets as some have mentioned, and the bathroom was semi-out of order the entire day. The wi-fi was pretty spotty, as it was down a handful of times in the two hours that I was there, but the speed was pretty good when it was active. Overall, this place is pricey considering you’re paying $ 5 for a cold brew with milk in a small cup, but I do like that their menu is simple and focuses on quality coffee. But definitely a nice place to get some work down as long as it’s not time-sensitive. Street parking is pretty limited, so Sundays are the best when it’s free! I’ll definitely be back to give it another chance.
