Food was okay. Incredibly thick pupusas, not to much on the inside. There was almost no extra oil which was nice but said to me there was a lack of ingredients on the inside. Service was bad. Not really a service oriented place. Not even a simple hello when walking in. Will not be back.

The pupusas are inexpensive. They’re also quite small which is probably why they are inexpensive. We ordered the revueltas, pork and cheese, but it was more like a cheese pupusa. Very little pork inside them. Oasis in Monterey Park and Cazuelas in Highland Park are much better. Pricier, but better overall.

Really good Salvadorean food! It’s a charming little restaurant that is cozy and the service was amicable. I would definitely go back whenever I’m in the mood for some central American cuisine. I tried the pupusas and empanadas de Platano and both were delicious. Parking is limited as it is a small place but that won’t stop me from going back.

I recently tried ordering some food and called to place the order. The lady who answered the phone cut me off mid sentence and said«We can’t take more orders right now, we’re too busy» and hung up. Sucks, because I recently tried Eat-N-Run pupusas a little further down on York and they weren’t as good as these, but my goodness people, in the name of Divino Salvador — get some decent Customer Service skills!!!

I ordered two cheese pupusas and they included beans. I was not informed that they would do that as I would have opposed. The cheese was good and coming out of the edges just like I like them. The chicharron pupusas were OKish but will not order these again. The order of platanos came with soupy beans but it was tasty and it had plenty of cream. They did not give us a receipt, napkins nor utensils with our take out. First impression of server: not friendly. Cash only

I had high hopes. Small business, nice shop, cheap prices, tv in the corner. Pupusas are not good. I ordered a cheese and loroco which came to 2.45 with tax. The masa was so thick it was tamale-like. No cheese squirt off the side of the pupusa. All filler, no filling. Loroco doesn’t taste as fresh as Eat-N-Run pupusas. Later I went to Highland Park’s Farmer’s Market and tried their cheese pupusa. It was $ 1 more but so much better. The lady even par-fried it which was a little disappointing but it was still better than Divino Salvador. Also service is weird. Guy seemed like he hated being there. Didn’t get good vibes from this place. Bottom line is in an area like Highland Park where you can throw a stone and hit a mexican restaurant, this place is not worthy. Other places are more delicious and just as inexpensive.

Pups as are Delois and homemade! The tastiest is quite small, so it’s not for large groups. My food was hot and fresh and very tasty, I would order because it is made fresh to order.

I have longed to be pupusa-fied here for months and finally gave in to a pupusa craving. My 1st(and now only) visit was around 5pm on a weekday. It was empty except for an older couple watching television, who turns out they are the owners. The woman got up and greeted me. I walked up to the counter and she handed me a menu. It was filthy and the place didn’t look too clean but I was pupusa-determined! I asked if she could make a bean and loroco. She nodded and said yes. I ordered a bean and loroco and a bean and cheese; I didn’t want to eat that much cheese. I have been wanting to try a rice pupusa so I asked for one to be rice(it didn’t matter which one but she said bean and cheese). She charged $ 2.25 each plus tax. While waiting I was given a cup of tap water with ice. It had a very strange taste and I only took a few sips at the end due to thirst. I expected the general 20+ min wait for made-to-order pupusas however they came out super fast and she placed a bottle of red sauce and huge container of curtido on the table. The fork and knife I was given was spotted and super dull. Cutting the pupusas was like pulling teeth! The rice pupusa(bean and cheese) had a weird stiff texture, not sure if it was done cooking. The corn pupusa was oozing with cheese and before I touched it, I informed the lady I ordered a bean and loroco, not cheese and loroco. She said«yes, bean» and pointed to my bean and cheese pupusa. I said«yes, this is bean and cheese, but this one is not bean and loroco», she said«loroco and cheese», and I said«I didn’t want cheese on this one». We went back and forth for a few mins and it was as if she suddenly didn’t speak english. Finally she said«sorry» and walked away with no effort to replace the wrong pupusa, if she even understood that it was the wrong pupusa but I think she did. Having specifically asked first if this was possible, I was very annoyed. If she couldn’t make a bean and loroco pupusa(I’ve had this and other bean and ___combinations elsewhere), she should’ve said no and I wouldn’t have ordered 2. The amount of cheese in the loroco and cheese was disgusting with the loroco being close to non-existent. I ate the corn part and left a plate of cheese. The corn pupusa, fillings aside, was tenfolds better than the rice pupusa. Upon leaving I said thank you and no response. Very rude all around. I felt gross/heavy afterwards and went into a food coma, as in I came home and planned to take a 15 min nap before running off this regrettable meal but fell asleep for 3HOURS! I refused to let this meal get the best of me and forced myself to go running even if it was 11:30pm. I wouldn’t recommend eating here ATALL!

As a salvadorean, It’s hard to find a good pupuseria where you get your money’s worth. Some places I’ve been to are stingy with the chicharron and queso in each pupusa. I’m glad I took a chance on this place because I was not disappointed. For starters, the ladies were super nice. And I was super happy that they had the rice flour pupusas(my favorite)! I ordered some revueltas and a chees pupusa and some horchata. I looooved their horchata! It tasted just like the horchata my mom makes. This place is super authentic, in my opinion. I can’t say enough about this little gem in Highland Park. This is now our new go-to place for salvadorean food, from now on! P. S. It’s cash only!

Best papusas I’ve had in Los Angeles. Prices are around market rate, might be a few pennies more than other places I’ve been to, but $ 1.80 for a papusa is a good deal in my opinion. You can get full for ~$ 4 on two papusas. I recommend the chiccaron, frijoles, and cheese papusa the most. P. S. My own personal tip for papusas… add the cabbage slaw, add the salsa, and ADDGUACAMOLE! I turn my papusas into tacos on steroids.

Wish I can give this place zero stars. Crappy rude service that pairs up to its food quality. Don’t fall for other reviews giving this place 5 stars unless you want to throw your money away.

Divino Salvador!!! I love this place. I personally want to thank Dina, who made our food blogging experience amazing. Her kind and attentive personality made our experience worth the trip. Places like Divino are such hidden gems amongst the restaurant business, and makes me feel like I’m in El Salvador tasting the very best authentic Salvadorian food. The Pupusas were really good! I’ve tasted others before, but this one tops one of my new favorite places to come to now. To top it off, the bebidas was so refreshing, we had Chan and Ensala de frutas. Different kind of drinks worth trying out.

Got off of work today and said, «Man, I’m in the mood for a decked out salad!» Well, let me just start off by saying, I went the whole complete opposite direction of a salad. My Salvadorian half decided it wanted some pupusas today, and that’s what that half of mine got! This place has been visited by my parents and myself for many many many years. I remember when this place used to be bigger and in an other area of my neighborhood. This new place is definitely three times smaller than when they were at their original location. However, the same people still work there and I believe they also have the same owners. Anyway, on to their food & drinks. When the waitress came to take our order for drinks, I was trying to remember the name of the beverage that they have and I happen to love. Its called Chan. That is a fruit punch with Chia seeds.(I know it sounds sick, but believe me. its DELISH). Unfortunately, they didnt have it, but good thing they did have my second fav Salvadorian drink; Ensalada, which is a fruit salad drink. I ordered a pupusa revuelta which consists of a thick corn tortilla stuffed with pork, beans, and cheese. Those are THEBEST. Just like my Aunt makes em. Topped with curtido(pickled cabbage). I also got a Salvadorian tamal de pollo. They are similar to Mexican tamales only that they’re wrapped in banana leaves. That makes em so much more softer and tastier. My Mom also ordered a Chicken Tamal and Atol De Elote(same consistency as Champurrado, only its corn flavor). All of it was as delicious as it has always been. This is a really small place, and hidden right in the middle of the block. So its easy to miss it if you drive by it. Wednesdays they have pupusa specials. I believe its $ 1.25 for each. They have a wide variety of dishes on their menu, so I’d definitely recommend that you visit this place more than once if you want to try something different. It’s very authentic and they have really nice waitresses and cooks. I’ll continue to eat here for more years to come

They have GREAT pupusas revueltas – whatever cheese they’re using is friggin’ wonderful and their curtido(it’s like Salvadorean kimchi) is very tasty. The two go together perfectly and slathered the curtido stuff on. I’d been looking for a good pupusa place and just randomly drove past this one and turned around to try it. The pupusas con calabasas y queso isn’t as good, but that’s because of the meatless-ness, in my opinion. Their arrayan drink is pretty tasty too – hard to describe though – they’ll give you a free sample if you ask. I didn’t try the rest of the stuff on the menu, because while corn pupusas were $ 1.75, an entrée was roughly $ 9. If you’re a poor college student who wants a great tasting meal for $ 4, this is totally worth it. The women working there don’t really speak English so well, but they’ll try to answer any questions you have as best they can and they’re nice about it. One downside is that they only accept credit card if you pay $ 15 or more, which is technically illegal and a really HIGH minimum, but I wasn’t about to point that out to employees with limited English. I guess most of the customers that frequent there tend to carry cash. Fortunately, so did I. Anyhoo, I’m giving it a 5 for the pupusas revueltas alone. ;p
