Meh– so so food and so so service. If you already are in the area, hit up Panns instead.

I used to come here with my family on Thanksgiving Day. It was more for my dad and I since we liked to pig out on all the food. The interior is old school but very inviting. Arrived right before the lunch rush crowd. I chose to sit at the counter versus waiting a few minutes for a table. So many options on the menu. I really had trouble in deciding between the chicken and turkey dinners. I went with the chicken dinner that includes your choice of meat(white, dark or mixed) fried chicken, soup or salad, two sides, banana bread, roll and a drink. The waitress brought me a Coke and the roll and banana bread. The chicken gumbo was pretty good. It had good amounts of white meat chicken and wasn’t too spicy. I think they don’t make the food to spicy due to the older clientele patrons. The banana bread and roll would be so much better if they were warmed up. My plan was to take home some of the fried chicken. My stomach had different plans, I inhaled the white meat, baked beans and the only thing I did not finish was the french fries. I should’ve went with corn or mashed potatoes and gravy which would’ve been any easier portion to consume. I hate leaving good food on the table. The staff works well together helping each other at the tables. I got drink refills and even some extra napkins and a wet wipe. A nice fulfilling meal before finish my errands.

Besides having the most awesome collection of yesteryear audio equipment and amazing diner décor, they offered the most perfectly cooked & tasty waffle!!! The chicken that brought them fame was okay, but my standards might be high since I’m from Kentucky, but seriously the waffle… mmmm, the waffle makes me just want to move-in so it won’t be far from my heart.

Meh. I was expecting much more. When I was in the neighbourhood I checked it out to see what the fuss was about. First of all I should have gone for the take out. The waitress seemed like she was in a hurry and seemed impatient as I deciding what sides to order. The diner set up was not impressive either and I wanted to get out of there after spending 10 min eating. Had the fried chicken with the coleslaw side. Nothing out of the ordinary. Bojangles still on top of my list for the fried bird. 10% discount on Unilocal check in helped. Thanks Unilocal

Great family place to grab a nice breakfast Food was awesome! I recommend the country fried steak or the corned beef hash! Our server Claudia wasn’t as friendly but I’d still come back for the good environment and food

Came here w/a party of 8. Not only was Alma very nice and attentive. We asked ahead of time for split checks and she was happy to do so. When it was time to pay, Alma was on point remembering everyones individual order when handing everyones check. Why is this amazing? she was also taking care of other customers, but still managed to remember our meals. I’ve had plenty of waiters who always manage to eff things up w/split checks. She’s awesome. Thank you Alma! The guys love their chicken here. I just grabbed some coffee, so this review is solely about the customer service.

This review might be a little towards Dinah’s because I’ve been coming here since I was a lot younger. If you go on a morning where there is no line then it’s a perfect breakfast day. Normally weekends this place gets packed with a long wait time, let’s be honest this isn’t a fast food joint so clients will take there time eating. I’ve always loved their weekly specials because this big boy requires big food. Staff is always friendly and the food doesn’t take long to come out and the coffee is always good. Enjoy.

If you don’t have taste buds or like to be treated poorly then this is your spot!!! I grew up coming to this place. My family and I would always order the apple and German pancakes. The order I received was dry, burnt, minimal apples, and sections without the topping which ended up being a bland dough. Customer service is a joke. The manager will make all the other employees give their opinion which is always his and then puts it in your face about how many were ordered today alone! I also made the mistake of getting their chicken which was bland, dry, and possibly their leftovers from yesterday. I ended up feeding it to my pets and after one bite they even walked away! These are animals that will get in your face for chicken so clearly there was something wrong!

Great for large groups. Came here with a group of 16, Jesus(lol) was our server and he was great. He got all the orders right and split the check in two when it came time to pay. Everyone loved their food. You can never go wrong with their MONSTER Burger, it’s so good and it’s huge. I had the chicken strips they were crispy but not at all greasy. All white meat with tons of fries.

Well this review is gonna be a sad one from me My girlfriend and I had said that we’ve always had wanted to go to this place. We had known of this place for decades and had never been. So we decided to finally go for it. We walked in and seen a super outdated restaurant but that’s nothing to gripe about. It’s no biggie. I know we came on Easter but shockingly it wasn’t bizzy. There were more employees inside the customers. But to be fair it was late in the evening. We came in to try the famous chicken. To be honest it wasn’t that great. The chicken was hard, greasy, slightly warm and not fresh. As if it was sitting under a heat lamp for some time. Might have been good if it was fresh out of the fryer. The banana nut bread sounded good that came with the meal but it was hard and dry. The best part of our meal was the baked potato(Like you can mess one of those) And the waffle which was good. On our way home both of our stomachs started hurting. We barely made it to the bathroom. Smh. Good thing our place has more than one bathroom lol. We came, ate and won’t come back.

A nice casual place to dine on the spur of a moment when you want to relax and not be part of the«scene». I usually only come here with one of my parents for breakfast. The breakfast is decent, no complaints. If you love pancakes, then this is definitely the place to come, they have all kinds, including one that’s the size of a whole pie! The coffee was really good with a strong roast, not a light blend, so that’s a major plus! Apparently they are now serving Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa for $ 5 and some change. So I’ll probably be back for a Bloody Mary… even though my ritual is to only drink Bloody Mary’s when I’m on a long plane flight. 025⁄100

Best thing to get here is the gourmet apple pancake with fresh apples and cinnamon glaze($ 12.95 Large, $ 10.95 Small). They bake it in the oven and it’s good enough to share. It requires about 20 minutes time, so know this before hand if you’re in a hurry. The food here is pretty good and it’s been around for a long time. The fried chicken is decent, but not the best that I’ve ever had. But then again, I’m from the South. Fast & friendly service.

If you’re coming here for anything besides fried chicken, you’re making a big mistake! Apparently there’s all-you-can-eat fried chicken on Mondays and Thursdays although I am not sure if it’s only within a certain time frame or all day. Anyhow, if you’re in the area and you’re dying for fried chicken, Dinah’s will get the job done(although Roscoe’s is pretty close by). We came for brunch and I opted for the chicken + 2 eggs option on the menu. Their menu is so diverse; you can find any American breakfast option on it. You can decide if you want white or dark meat as well. My plate came with a choice of hash browns or pancakes, and also a side of toast. You’re getting quite a lot of things in one order which I thought was pretty good value. Besides for the fried chicken, everything else tasted pretty mediocre. Just your typical hash browns, scrambled eggs and toast. But the chicken was so good!!! Juicy and crispy, the chicken was seasoned well! Make sure you check-in via Unilocal to get 10% off your bill!

Purpose of visiting: I was in the mood for fried chicken and wanted to see if their chicken was finger licking good. Promotion/Deals: Check-in… get 10 percent off your tab. DISCOUNTDOUBLECHECK… I actually checked it twice on the Unilocal app! They also have other specials on certain days. Location/Parking: Great location off the 405 freeway… They also have a big parking lot. Ambiance: Nice 50’s diner feel with a touch of hominess! Very calm and quiet. Service: Staffers were friendly, but not attentive. Had a hard time waving them down couple of times during the duration of our visit. Our waitress charged us for hot tea when we only ordered hot water, but everything was taken care of when I pointed it out to manager. Food came out fast. Food: Ordered two items(a fried chicken breast and clam chowder). Thought the chicken was decent, but not finger licking good. The chicken wasn’t as moist and flavorful that I envisioned it to be, but it was great that it wasn’t heavily battered. I loved the clam chowder! Definitely tasted the clam and the soup consistency was excellent and tasted yum. Tip: Combine the chicken meat with the clam chowder for a scrumptious meal! :) Definitely coming back if I want to have a relaxing meal.

Service worst, seems more concerned we left us to enjoy our food, did not begin to eat and we already had our bill on the table … I felt they just wanted my money. do not know who taught you to do customer service, but take me a bad experience…

I’ve eaten here in years past but this was my first breakfast experience. Loved it! You always have a good experience here. I like the fact that they have a huge parking lot that you can take advantage of and you don’t need to worry about tickets or validation. It will be a little pricier than a place like Denny’s but you’re getting a better breakfast! I like mine and if you look at my pics, you’ll know why!

Dinah’s has stood the test of time! Its been around for over four decades! I have many childhood memories of this place-it was my family’s favorite weekend breakfast joint. Anytime family from out of town would visit us– we wouldnt take them to Disneyland-we would take them to Dinahs! The place looks exactly the same since I was a kid– same décor, same seats/booths, same claw crane game, even the same waiters and waitresses. Their unique variety of pancakes as well as their famous fried chicken will be what keeps you coming back for more. The restaurant will get crowded on the weekends. The Chicken Shack(right next to the diner) — where you can buy a bucket-of-chicken, is take-out only and the service is awesome… you’ll be enjoying your freshly fried chicken & mashed potatoes with gravy in about 10 minutes.
