Aside from the common exposure to pork(bacon and pepperoni) I do not have pork in my everyday diet. With that said, ever since I found this little food truck, I can honestly say that I enjoy every style of pork this food truck has to offer. Now you would think that because there is only pork available you do not have a variety but the truth is that they execute a variation of food without making you feel there is repetitiveness in the food.

AMAZING!!! I can honestly say I have a new addiction. I have already followed DDLP on Instagram so I never miss them when they’re nearby.

I learned that the word«spicy» is all relative. I ordered the 3 pork tacos. At the time, they only had al pastor. If your whole truck is based on different kinds of pork, how do you run out??? They had only been open for 1.5 hours. I asked, «is it spicy?» The cashier quickly shook her head and said no. WELL, they were spicy for me. C’mon, she should have warned me that there was some heat. She didn’t serve me carnitas, it was spicy and made my nose run a bit. Service was SLOW too. By the time I ordered(and I walked right up to the window with no line) they were calling numbers 10 away from mine. If there was less heat, I would have enjoyed. I may considered trying once more, but a different type of pork.

So finally tried ddlp and it was good. We got the bacon wrapped hot dog, super filling. We also tried El 3 tacos and of the three meats the tinga was the best. I loved loved loved the elote/corn in the cup. OMG who knew If u like elotes you will love theirs. Saved the best for last the hog pocket is like a piece of heaven on earth. It’s a desert and it’s just so delightful. It’s a peanut butter, jelly fried empanada so light and yummy and best yet sprinkled with loving bacon IT’S A MUST!

I wish I can give him more star. We had them for a company event and not only they showed up early, left the place clean. Not to mention their tacos were great! The only regret that I have not getting the corn… Hope to have them back for another private event soon!

Dia de los Puercos came out to my workplace during lunch hour, and co-workers were pleased with their menu. Both tasty and affordable, they served their orders rather quickly and were very pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, I was busy to try their food, but their professionalism and service was on point. Definitely recommend them for catering/private events.

Their truck is in the lunch rotation in front of my office building 1 – 2 times /month. By far my favorite truck — carnitas and several other really flavorful and inventive pork dishes, all served in multiple ways.

They catered my engagement party and it was very popular. I personally couldn’t stop eating the artesa papitas! So freaking good! Better than all the kinds of fries at the Hat. Oh and the churritos with bacon are magic!

Yesterday the Dia de los Puercos truck was stationed at Mariachi Plaza for the Dia de los Muertos event. I had honestly never heard of them before, but the creative wrapping of the truck(and their witty name) gave them my attention. My coworker and I decided to try the churros($ 5) which were fresh and covered with caramel, condensed milk, and bacon pieces(to go with the theme of the truck I assume). We were quickly served 4 hot fresh sugar coated churros that were ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS! I didn’t pay much attention to the rest of the menu, but if I was driving down the street and happened to notice DDLP I would quickly pull over for another bite of those delicious crunchy churros!

Stiff learning curve! Are gonna have a hard time making it with with what they got. Sorry guys. Food went to the trash… Either too salty or real bland.

I was able to experience Dia De Los Puercos this weekend. I was very impressed with the menu. The aroma in the air from this truck was mesmerizing. After I had already stuffed myself with other trucks at the event I made some room to taste the Artesa Papitas. They were Delicious. I look forward to stalking them and eating from them again.

Love pork? Dia De Los Puercos is for you! Love the logo too but can’t eat the logo. On this night at the MPK Night Market the lines were not long & wait time for our food wasn’t bad either. We chatted with the chef/owner of the truck & our MPK fireman who was waiting for his PBJB empanada. Here’s what we had: El Chefe-A quesadilla filled w/Al Pastor & cheese topped w/cabbage, onion, radish & salsa. Yum! My favorite. El Tri-A trio of tacos which we chose Carnitas, Al Pastor & Tinga topped w/cabbage, onion, cilantro & salsa. Delicious! Borracho Dog-Their version of the L.A. Dog. This one would have been better w/a traditional hot dog bun since the torts bun made it extremely difficult to eat. Plus it was too much bread. Hot Pocket PBJB Empenada-Although our new fireman friend raved about this one, it was a little too greasy for us. Our fireman was not afraid because he has access to a defibrillator. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for them next time. Hey, how do I get one of those cool Dia De Los Puercos T-Shirts?

@diadelospuercos For a Mexican food truck to stand out in L.A. is quite a task. There are so many of them. From the plain white taco trucks to the GFT’s with the fancy paint jobs L.A. is a mecca of great Mexican food. It’s hard to grow an original idea in this environment Dia De Los Puercos has managed to do just that. By focusing on pork, they’ve found a way to be creative in an environment where trucks come and go… fast! They cook their pork 3 different ways and they have a couple of touches that really set them aside. First you have your basic marinated«Al Pastor», then something called«borracho», and finally, carnitas or roast pork. All 3 are great, not to dry and loaded with porkaliciousness. We tried the taco trio,(3 tacos-one of each). Good Mexican off a truck. They also hae an avocado sauce that is somewhere between a salsa and guac that compliments the pork perfectly. The«Mexicorn», even though it is no longer served on the cob is awesome and their taquitos rock! All in all I’d say these guys are hitting all the marks. So that only leaves this. __________________STALKER APPROVED________________

Hanging out at a reggae and craft beer festival… This food truck was calling my name. Hung out in line with one of the owners and asked what they could do for a VEGAN… After laughing he asked the chef if there was anything I could get. He told me the tortillas were made by Grandma and I knew I couldn’t try anything else. They made me these bell pepper, soy chorizo tacos with salsa… So good, so spicy, hit the spot with a beer taster! Thanks for catering to my crazy vegan needs! Much appreciated! Good luck on your new food truck journeys!

El Tri Tacos– THREE versions of pork in the tacos: Al Pastor, Tinga, and Mochomos(Chihuahua style crispy shredded pork). Topped with cabbage, sliced radishes, salsa verde, cilantro/onions, and garnished with a grilled jalapeño and a lime wedge. All three styles had great flavors from the Guajillo/pineapple flavors of the pastor, to the sweet and bold flavors of the tomato/chipotle/honey combination coming from the Tinga. The Mochomos taco was my favorite of the three, somewhat similar to carnitas, but the main difference is that the pork is first cooked in liquid instead of in its own fat. So it’s slightly on the healthier side than carnitas, but still has tremendous flavor infused within. Incredibly one of the highlights of the night. SERIOUSLY, everyone should try the food from chefs Rick«El Chefe» Garcia and Brandon«Chef B» Laureano whenever you get a chance to. I will be happy to tell them this Chonchudo sent you, lol.

This has to be one of the most creative/traditional Mexican food trucks I’ve had. You truly have chefs that are true to their roots. They value the traditions of the Mexican food with their own added creativity that really makes it unique. Plus the fact that bacon is a prominent tool in their arsenal really does make it all that much better. I rarely give 5 stars but I truly think this culinary delight deserves it. Plus the fact that Chef Rick and Chef Brandon are cool guys just makes it all that much better. Be sure to find them wherever they go!

Delicious. I had a chance to grab 2 of their items, the Boracha Dog & Artesa Papitas. Both delcious & made right, the ingredients where layered in a perfect way that made each bite so savory and delicious then you do a quick palate kick with a bite if the roasted peppers they give you on the side and then back to the main items, so good. Customer service, great. They take time to answer any questions you got & make the time to great you outside of the truck in person & not just from their window. I hope to find these guys again and check off another couple of things off their menu.
