Love this place! Feels like you are transported right into Korea. Love the decoration and the happy hour prices on food are very reasonable. Will definitely be back. A little advice, If you want to waiter to come back push the button on the table(I had no clue about this). Overall a very cool spot.

THISISMYFAVORITEPLACEINKTOWN. Granted it’s a little pricey but I LOVEIT. Staff is super fast, they don’t goof around, the food is good, the drinks are good, and the vibe is great, and it’s pretty big, so I generally don’t have trouble getting a table.

Great watering hole that is easily missed and next to a pizza place. Huge fan of this place. Great service. It’s great for pairs and for groups. If you’re into Dan Sung Sa, then this is a good alternative of a similar late night scene. It’s kinda a little dark, dingy and grungy, with sticky walls, tables, and menus. But food is delicious and a great time is ensured. A small pot of soup to start out with. Yogurt soju is served out of a tea kettle. Get the cheese corn, kimchi pancake, and dukbokki. There are also chicken wings — either a dry rub or spicy and saucy.

I love this place!!! But if you’re not Korean(like me), you might struggle a little here. This is because the menu is in Korean – it’s just a wooden board with Korean words… no pictures, nothing. All the waiters here only speak Korean and everyone in here is also Korean. Which is why I keep wanting to come back but can’t unless I have a Korean friend come along because I know I wont be able to order anything T__T I first heard about this place from my Korean friend because she says this is her favorite«secret» bar. I’m not surprised that a lot of people don’t know about this place because you enter through a discrete door right next to Café bene – I’ve walked past this place a few times when going to café bene and definitely didn’t know it was a bar. The interior décor is super cool – very unique, I love the vibes here. The drinks here are SOGOOD. We always get the chamisul, yogurt soju, and some rice wine thingy that comes in a teapot. The drinks here aren’t very strong in taste, but oh boy, it creeps up on you. My friend and I were just casually taking sips here and there and before we know it, my friend was gone, LOL. The food here is pretty good too – they give you some free soup with seaweed inside(yum), and I’ve also tried their garlic fries. I’ve seen other people eat normal foods like egg and some meats but I have no idea what it is cause I can’t read the menu… There’s also a karaōke area at the back that’s super secretive. I’m not sure if the karaōke is another place or part of DGM because again, I can’t read any of the words… Either way, if you have a Korean friend definitely drag them here because this place is awesome!

Came here tonight with a party of 11. About a hour in, half of our table still hadn’t received our food, so we cancelled our order. When we went to pay, they argued with us that we still had a balance due even though we told them we never received half of our meal. We didn’t even get an apology from the server or management.

If you’re ever looking for a place in K-town to get dirty drunk and simultaneously stuff your face at the same time, DGM is the place. I usually end up here pretty drunk and being led by Korean friends who know the way to this place by heart. However, came recently(SOBER) for a friend’s birthday dinner. You go through CaffeBene. Just walk through those glass doors and to your right will be this dingy looking door. It’s dirty, yes, and dingy but those are the two factors that make up a great underground bar/restaurant. There is SO much food to choose from. Spicy, non-spicy, fried, my god, it’s a place where you can pack on ten pounds in an hour. They have beer, soju, mak-guli, all the better to drink down as fast as you can. It’s so cute that the mak-guli comes with these tiny bowls that you knock together with friends. The bathrooms on the first floor are so makeshift because it doubles as a storage room. Basically, don’t expect much to be spotless. Germaphobes will definitely not like this place but you know, alcohol does kill germs. Sometimes, the servers give your turnip soup and popcorn, which is some kind of Korean superstition of not waking up with a hangover. Not sure if it really works but it always makes me puke and then lo and behold, no hangover! For first timers, it’s better to come with a friend who can speak Korean. Not many of the servers speak fluent English. Although they take card, sometimes it feels like they prefer cash, especially when it’s a small crowd. Either ways, Gun-Bae !

Absolutely a cool, odd place for those that have not experienced much for Asian culture. When you walk inside, you’ll feel like you absolutely left Los Angeles! The inside is very dark and composed of black painted walls divided up with black painted, wooden stalls. The walls are heavily etched with peoples names and commentary. They serve popcorn for free along with a bowl of some strange soup that has a large bone in it. Most of the beer is all HYTE korean lager — terrible beer, but not worst than Bud Light. It’s just a fantastic adventure.

The best part about DGM is that it’s happy hour until 8pm(opens at 6pm). That means all food and beverage is half off. Chicken skewers that are typically $ 2.99 are now $ 1.50 and a lot of the giant entrée bar foods(ddak boki, for example, in a family-sized platter, is half off for about $ 7). The food is stellar, hearty Korean bar/street food — nothing fancy — but there’s lots of it. It’s served hot and fast and the free appetizer of seaweed soup is the perfect accompaniment. Reminds me of many of the dive bar«hofs» I’d drink in for hours to keep warm on winter nights when I lived in Seoul. Lots of sea food options. I love the kimchi pajeon and the ddak boki. Everything is spicy and standard but good. They also let you take leftovers, which is not necessarily the norm in some Korean spots. The worst part is that the only beer they have is Cass and Kloud — you can get large bottles to pair with your soju, but none of the imports listed on their menu are still served. This is a MAJOR detriment to this place, as there are so many other acceptable competitors that have more beer options. The atmosphere is dark but picks up and gets quite happy and crowded in the evenings. The walls are dingy and sprawled with people’s autographs and love confessions in Sharpied graffiti. There are a few small TVs for sports or Korean programming. Overall, I like DGM, but prefer Dan Sungsa.

This place looks and feels like a dingy run down out of the blue restaurant and bar, but it’s actually better than I expected. The entrance is in a small alley way looking interior open of a bigger building shared by other stores.(if you see the caffe bene, it’s right next door. The sign is in Korean and it’s really hard to notice. I went with a few Korean friends who recommended the place to just drink and hang out. The inside is dim and graffiti walls but that’s the aesthetic of the place . We didn’t actually get food, we came for the soju and the dried fish. Both pretty satisfactory. This place is good for a night out, or a round of shots. They serve food if you end up being hungry as well.

man. if you have ocd, and it involves you having to rewash your hands a minimum of 10 times after touching every little thing that could possibly be harboring germs, this place is your worst nightmare. the bathrooms. the nasty writings all over the place. i couldn’t wait to get out of there, go home, and shower. which i did. the only reason i give it 3 stars is because their mussel soup was actually pretty good. we asked for it spicy and they delivered. ventilation sucks. everything is super cramped. and it’s just dirty.

All I can feel when I come here is claustrophobia. The tables are too crammed together. The seats are old and uncomfortable. There is a very dirty grimmy feeling whenever I come here. I want to wipe the tables down constantly. The bathrooms are filthy. They charge you $ 2.5 for valet but you park your own car. Blegh. I used to come here often when I was younger but I cant come back here anymore.

A little hole in the wall establishment with probably the best happy hour food menu ever. EVERYTHING on their menu is 50% off from 6−8pm. However, the catch is that you have to order a drink with your meal. You MUST go with a korean person since everything on the menu is in korean. So, I would highly recommend it unless you’re planning to just show them pictures and wing it. They offer complementary soup and popcorn which is nice. We ordered the raw octopus, sashimi, most of the skewers and everything was very good. I would really recommend getting the octopus. MMM The entrance to the place is located in the back alley of a lot next to caffe bene. you can either street park or valet which I believe is $ 2.

My friend and my fave place to go in ktown during happy hour! HH daily from not sure when it starts till 8pm lol So you get complimentary popcorn and soup when you eat here. I love the red snapper dish as well as the pig feet. I love eating them with the veggies and the fermented bean paste. Too bad they don’t have sriracha here. Other good dishes served here include cheese corn, Korean pancake or pizza whatever you call it, and the spam and eggs. We have ordered so many items on the menu, nothing really disappointed us. And our waiter was really cool and funny. We asked for so many things. There was a time he read our minds and knew what we wanted. It was so hilarious. He was such a great sport, we tipped him more. Good times here all the time!

My friends and I took the Metro Redline to come down to KTown for dinner. We needed to kill some time and looked for a place to drink. Having seen folks check into DwitGolMok, we decided to check it out. This place is hard to find off of Wilshire because it’s entry is through the back of the parking lot and into and open courtyard. DGM looks like it’s an extension of Dan Sung Sa and other Korean bars where it looks like it’s never been cleaned, has unpermitted renovations, and open 24 hours(not really) with writing all over the walls. The tables here are lacquered in layers thru the years. Sticky just the way I like it. Means it’s an authentic bar just for drinking. Found some folks smoking in here just like most underground Asian spots. I feel like there’s gonna be a fight here with mafia located downstairs or something shady is going on. Reminds me of those coffee houses in Garden Grove. Nothing fancy here. You get barley tea on each table and popcorn. We didn’t eat here though the menu is full of typical Korean bar food: wings, tofu soup, pan cake, rice cakes, etc. Barely anyone spoke English. We pointed to the wall where there was a Hite advertisement and ordered two rounds. Definitely a visit if you’re looking for something authentic in KTown.

After coming here for drinks and for a meal, I’m still not too impressed about this place, but at least it’s a decent place to hang out with friends. Dwitgolmok or DGM for short, is another Korean drinking place that serves food. We drank beer, yogurt soju, had kimchi pancakes, spicy chicken wings, fish cake soup, buddae jjigae, and meat kabobs. The beer is served chilled in a bottle, the regular soju in a bottle too, and the yogurt soju was served in a tea kettle. Interesting, probably because they mix it themselves. No problem. The kimchi pancakes was also okay. How can one mess up preparing that? Haha. Out of all the dishes ordered, I enjoyed their spicy chicken wings the most. It’s battered and fried, then served with a red wing sauce along with a small mixed salad. Their budae jjigae or military noodles was okay too. I’ve tried better. I wish they would put more ingredients such as meat in it, instead of it being majority noodles and onions. The jjigae sauce was a bit mild and bland. Oh well. The kimchi pancakes was also okay. Just fried kimchi in flour. How can one screw up? I was also a little disappointed on their fish cake soup. The fish cakes were thin and cut onto triangles. The flavor was bland. But at least the soup was hot. The kabobs were good. We had beef, chicken, and sausage ones on a skewer stick. They were tasty though. You can’t expect fine dining or superb food coming here. Just come with no expectations and a fun attitude, then you’ll be fine. It is more like beer food they serve here. Overall my experience here is average. The whole beer house seems run down with graffiti everywhere. But that’s what Korean beer places are all about. It’s suppose to bring the authenticity feel of the old Korean war days. I would have been more pleased if DGM was cleaner. The tables and benches are sticky. The floor and stairs too. I hope it’s not part of their theme. The service here can also be a hit or a miss. They seem a little short handed when it’s busy. Ultimately, I prefer going to the other places around 6th Street. It seems more fun and cleaner too with better music. Finding parking around Koreatown on weekends are tough. It might be easier to just valet it.

You can find a drinking spot like DwitGolMok(DGM) on almost every street corner in K-town. Similar, to Dan Sung Sa or Toe Bang, DGM tries to imitate the Pojangmacha kind of environment in Korea, where they sell street food and soju. DwitGolMok simply put means back alley. Located, on Wilshire Blvd, the entrance is on Berendo St, thru a parking lot and inside a courtyard. As you enter, you go up the stairs into a venue that’s mostly concrete with wooden tables and seats. This place can get loud and I mean noisy, with plenty of partygoers hitting it up to all hours of the evening. The more drunk they get, the more graffiti they’ll place on the walls. The food is alright, the service is not too shabby either. Realistically, the place is a mess. Not the cleanest venue around, but there’s no sense for a place like this to be spick and span. I believe they do let you smoke inside, which for me these days can get somewhat annoying. The goal here is to drink, with many getting utterly trashed. SOJU The word literally means — burned liquor. Nicknamed the«headache in a little green bottle,» it cuts straight to the point and will get you intoxicated quickly. Koreans love to drink hard as my country is the leader in heavy spirit consumption, with soju easily being the world’s most heavily consumed brand of alcohol. It’s cheap and instantly gets you to a feeling that you want to be. After all the restless nights and hangovers, most of us have no clue why we continue to drink this stuff.

After having some KBBQ no too far away, and having been turned away by another establishment for some in our group having some hoodies on, DGM kindly took our big group in. All we wanted was some beer and soju and this place sure delivered! I have to say the food smelled delicious, but being in the overstuffed post BBQ state made none of it seem appetizing. I definitely have to go back here to try out their food.

This place reminds me of Gaam… but before Gaam overdosed on EDM and strobe lights. Lively spot that serves beer, soju, and yummy Korean bar food. Overall an awesome place to chill out and drink. We ordered the spicy/sweet chicken, 4 skewers, and corn/cheese… and I really enjoyed all of it. It was a good amount of food for 3 – 4 people. + Spicy/sweet chicken — The chicken is breaded. Think orange chicken, but with a kick. We asked for it extra spicy… and they made it like super super spicy. SOGOOD. I was dipping all of the skewers in the sauce. + cheese/corn — skillet of corn topped with cheese, sesame seeds, olives… Such a simple dish. I’m obsessed with corn(and cheese too) so naturally obsessed with this dish. Balanced out the spicy chicken. + Skewers — we ordered chicken, beef, shrimp, mushroom. All very simple, but great. You can tell they were fresh off the grill. My fave was the shrimp.
