I’m here at least twice a week. This place makes life worth living in Country Club Park. They are open long hours, they have great coffee, and yummy sandwiches. The ambiance is very chill, not like a busy big chain coffee shop. The staff is always friendly and cheerful and very polite. I feel comfortable hanging out alone and maybe working or reading, or meeting friends there. The owners are a super cool young couple, their ecclectic creaative personalities show through in everything about this place. Love it!

Imagine my surprise to find this little coffee oasis in the desert that is Los Angeles. Absolutely the nicest coffee in K’town area. All wrapped up in pleasant design store surroundings. Staff very pleasant too.

I love this place! I love the owners and all their employees. They are very nice and respectful. If you are looking for a place to catch up with friends, study or to just lounge this is the place you want to go to around the area. The ambiance is different compared to other cafes in the area. They have great waffles! The best I’ve had! Come support the small business around town!

Okay, this café is freaking cute. I am currently sitting at the corner table surrounded by clothing racks, tile samples, and fashionable garments I would never be able to pull off. Known as a «design café,» it is just that. Different designs by different artists all around the place, even down to each individual table. Sunlight filtering in to accentuate the friendly yellow walls, twinkle lights draped all across the ceiling, and soft music playing in the background. Yes, the drinks are a little pricey but oh so good. But the BESTPART? CLIMATE. CONTROL. It feels SO nice in here. Not too hot, not too cold, juuuuuuust right. From a girl who has experienced freezing temperatures(curse you, Starbucks) and hot sticky, windowless cafes, this place is paradise. And it’s less than a mile from my place, hallelujah.

This place is awesome. It’s exactly the kind of place I would expect there to be in that cool old blue building. Amazing coffee, very friendly staff that are intuitive to costumers and great food. The space inside it eclectic and cozy with no chair like the other. I live a block away so me and my girlfriend will be planting our flag here as our local coffee shop. I have no negatives for this place. Thanks for making an awesome place to get out and unwind at the same time. Update: still an awesome place just wanted to add I bought cool ass designed stuff here and still nothing but net in this place. Got an awesome brass knuckle purses as gifts and a way cool Easter Island man candle. All reasonably priced and well enjoyed. Jaclyn who I think is one of the owners is a great person to know there.

Ultimate mix of neighborhood coffee shop and boutique store selling items from local artisans that you’ll find no where else. Food is great, company is welcoming, and is overall a wonderful place to hang out and browse :)

I was just driving down Pico and decided to check it out. Lots of parking in the morning(street/metered). Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. I was here for an hour or two to get work done and it never got crowded. Great addition to the neighborhood!

I live a few blocks away from this place. And I’m really glad there’s a coffee shop with good beans around my area. The owners are really nice. The baristas are really talented and know what they’re doing. I haven’t really tired the food here yet. But the coffee is amazing. If you get lucky the really pretty barista might make make you really cool latteart.(she made me a freaking bear. I’m in love).

Excellent coffee&food, service, and ambiance. Ordered an iced americano and panini, stayed there for 2−3hrs to work on my laptop. Noise level was just right and there was plenty of street parking on weekday afternoon. It is a great creative workspace and all things on display were cute. Ranging from flooring tiles to women’s clothing to cell phone cases and more. Everything from food to vibe was great and i will be returning for sure.

Stopped by here finally after many times just driving by saying I would stop by. I would definitely recommend this place. Basically its a design studio with caffeine inside, who doesn’t like some type of design and coffee right? The inside is basically a mini clothing and items store with the coffee shop to the right of the store. Very rustic tables and chairs are the seating area for those that want to hang out for a it. They also have some outside seating. The coffee here is pretty tasty, lots of options to choose from and different levels of taste for those with a dark coffee palate or the light coffee drinkers. I got the vanilla latte that was real good because it wasn’t overpowering sweet at all. Just the right amount of milk in it as well. The staff here are ok, I will say the girl that charged us wasn’t the friendliest though. She not once smiled or didn’t even say welcome as we walked up to make our choices. Again, just feel staff should know to make clients welcomed even as they walk in. Either way she wasn’t rude and I will still visit this place.

3.5 — Design Café Dabang is a very small modern space that shows designer goods such as clothing, books, candles, etc. You really sit there while enjoying your coffee and checking out everything while you’re there. I ordered the iced vanilla latte along with a breakfast panini and I was very satisfied. I do have to say that the panini is very small and kind of leaves you a bit hungry afterwards. The service was okay, I think the girl there was a bit out of it but she was still somewhat nice. No parking structure but there’s street parking so you just have to look for some. Great space if you want to come here and get some work done on your laptop. There is also very limited seating but there’s a few tables outside also.

New fav joint. Café and showroom that’s curated and designed to feature local artists. Pretty much anything and everything you see is available for purchase. Great music, great food, and the customers are cool, hip, and chill. Eat, shop, and play. It’s a one stop shop. Love!

A hidden jewel in Ktown. Great coffee and atmosphere. They also host regular pop-up shop for local artists and creative minds. Perfect place to relax over a hot cup of coffee, or take your laptop and get creative. Try their cranberry sandwich with a hot cappuccino when you are there. You will thank me later. Highly recommend this place.

Design Café Dabang shows promise and is the only café in Koreatown/Arlington Heights that has vegan baked goods. This is a small, modernist space(with only a few tables/chairs) in a bright blue, huge 1920s building. The space is littered with designer furniture, racks of women’s clothing, books and other sundries. We got a cappuccino with unsweetened almond milk(it’s a rare thing to find unsweetened non-dairy milks at cafes) and it was fabulous. Their regular black coffee was also solid. They had four vegan desserts available in plastic containers; we got the chocolate walnut brownie and a crispy salty nut thing with chocolate chips. Both were really tasty and unusual; I’m not sure what baker they use, but I’ve never seen these baked goods at any other café. If the café had vegan sandwich options(they currently only have meat and lacto-ovo options), it would warrant another star. How about fried tofu on a baguette? Or a Korean seitan dish? All told, I look forward to coming back here, especially if it expands its vegan offerings.

The inside of this little place is GORGEOUS. The focus seems to be on the designer goods and the art, but there is a little coffee nook in which you can get some pretty good drinks. I came in on the opening day and asked for an iced chai latte.(The barista told me I was their fifth drink of the day and I assume an iced chair latte was probably one of the most difficult to make). It took awhile to craft my drink, but they kindly remade it with low fat milk instead of whole. The barristas were sweet and friendly. They said they were going to get a milk alternative too, which they didn’t have when I went in. This place has the perfect ambiance to read a book, get inspired by the design around you and write, or get together with a friend. It’s quiet enough to hold a conversation. At night, the owners what to do art shows and the like, which sounds pretty promising by the décor inside. And honestly, there aren’t too many decent coffee places in the area. I expect I’ll be back quite often. As for prices, the beverages cost in the Starbucks range. Parking is street only.

I had been wanting to check this place out since I saw them working on the inside. They have done an AMAZING job with the place! Both owners are interior designers and if the interior of the shop is anything to go by, then they are both fantastic at it. Everything in the shop is hand made. They have clothes, furniture, candles, all kinds of things. The coffee shop adds such a great vibe to the block. The coffee and espresso is good and the pastries are yummy. Plus the owners are really nice :)

My girlfriend and I stopped by for the grand opening of Café Dabang and we’re really glad we did! They’ve done a lovely job designing the space – with exposed brick walls, designer furniture and a nice, curated selection of gifts(candles, art, bags, etc). I ordered an Iced Americano, my girlfriend ordered a low-fat Iced Chai Latte, and we both enjoyed samples of their blueberry scones. The coffee was solid. Mike(at the counter) was friendly. The orders took a few minutes, but that’s totally understandable for opening day. All in all, they’re a great addition to the neighborhood, I’m really glad they’re open, and I look forward to going back.
