Ummm not expressed in the least. Nice atmosphere but the service was beyond horrible and the pizza was not far behind. We ordered a large pizza that came with garlic and olives — counted a total of 8 olives and 6 garlic cloves on our overly salted, large pizza! Ridiculous! I’ve had much better pizza from Pizza Hut! Now on to the horrible service. Did I mention how bad the service was yet? Ok, it was so bad, that I had to go to the bar TWICE just to get our drinks because our bratty waitress was just too busy talking with her friends at the bar to take our order. When she did take our order, it was with a huge attitude. Perhaps her movie star aspirations aren’t working out lol. Needless to say, I left a fat zero for a tip.

Good food. They moved us during our meal so the guy from that 70s show could sit where we were. The restaurant was only half full. Ouch.

This place flies waaay under the radar! It is one of my top 3 pizzas in LA. The Avenue A is incredible and my fave but all of their pizzas are great. I can’t tell you much about the rest of their food since I’ve never wanted to order anything other than pizza there. Pizza is life when I go to Delancey!

Looooooove the pizza! Coming from someone that’s lived in NYC& on Delancey & Essex, the pizza is real close to New York style pizza. Tried the Avenue A pizza after a movie at Arclight with my boyfriend, and the ‘Avenue A’ pizza was amazing! Spicy & delicious! Habanero spicy marinara sauce was fire! Loved it! Service was great! Friendly staff! Definitely a New York feel to the décor inside. Music was good. Loved it! Good job on giving me flashbacks of my time in NYC, guys! Lower Eastside feels: D Try this place! You won’t regret it :)

Love the prosciutto, date, goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Another one to try is the gnocchi arrabiata. Casual and comfy. Love this place

I come here at least once a week for lunch and the food here is divine. I’ve only had pastas and salads, but the preparation is great and the quality of ingredients are just as amazing. Sure the prices are a little steep, but you pay for what you get. Good portions and great service. The lunch/dinner menu is the same, but they do offer a «half and half» lunch special that’s not on the menu. It’s half of any salad + half of any pasta for $ 11.95. Highly recommend if you want great Italian! I dream of the guanciale in their carbonara…

I got a pizza to go and had a good beer while I waited on it. This place has a really great atmosphere. It feels small and would be a great spot for one or two friends. The pizza was p good. And the beer list was nice. I really liked the Craftsman 1903 I got.

Went for a quick dinner we ordered pizzeria with olives ricotta cheese, and calamari for appetizer. The waitress was nice came by twice. Take a big table if you’re planning of having pizza(it’s big!) and something else. They gave us a box to go by we had to ask for a bag

A cute and comfy place on the corner of Sunset, right around Emerson’s LA building. We went for lunch and it was a very nice experience. It is a great place to people watch and the food is pretty good too! I had the Arugula, golden beets, goat cheese salad with lemon vinaigrette. It was a pretty large portion and I honestly couldn’t finish it. It was fresh and delicious. Others in our party ordered the chopped salad(which was overflowing the platter) and a grilled chicken and mozz panini. Our server was very friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable. Their pizzas are full sized as we found out the hard way as one in our party ordered one thinking it would come as a personal size. All in all a really fun experience and I’d go back if in the area again.

Cute little place on the eastern part of Sunset in Hollywood. There is a patio for superb people watching! Recap — east side of Hollywood. ;) Yes, superb people watching. Indoors is cozy and warm, although this night it was full of two birthday parties. Two birthday parties with some rude guests that stood blocking the door to the bathroom and look at you like an A-hole when you say«excuse me», nicely. And it wasn’t just me, because my friend said the same thing after her turn. Hey it’s not the restaurant’s fault — but maybe try to keep the path clear? Or maybe seat these large groups somewhere else? Maybe pick up some guy’s teeth next time? The service was great! The beer was cold! The food came fast! The pizza… maybe it was an off night? It was like eating dry crackers with toppings. I also have to wonder if there was any olive oil at all used in the creation of this completely dry pie. Try to fold a slice and the crust just snaps and crumbles in your fingers. It tasted pretty good in the middle. I’m just saying– I should be able to fold a slice of pizza and see some oil drip out the back. We had the MERCER: Mozzarella, Pepper Crusted Bacon, Caramelized Onions & Gorgonzola $ 15. It was a tough decision, as they have several creative pizza pies on the menu. I want to try the lounge, and I want to try some other food items, maybe a martini. I can’t say if I’ll be trying the pizza again just due to that dried out crust. I see from other reviews that it’s hit or miss here on service and food. I want to think the owners read these and learn from the feedback. I liked the vibe, and the service, and I want to come back. Cheers!

The owner is self centered and wants everyone to know it’s his world and we live in it. The business is losing patrons and I can see why. I will never spend a dime in this place. The owner needs a major attitude adjustment.

Dine or Ditch? Dine… Like you’re back on the lower east side. Fine, you hit me in the sweet spot… taking me back to New York, but the work has been done. This place is more than just a namesake, when you walk in you really get a New York feel. The brick walls, the dim lighting, the mirrored bar, and oversized«VIP» spot in the corner… it all screams New York. Moving on, the beers on tap were awesome. I’m always a fan of Prohibition Ale and it was right there. I’ve heard they have a good rotation on their beers so I’m excited to see what’s coming my way. Amanda, our bartender, was very cool and very friendly(so not totally like New York) and since I came in with some friends who are regulars I got some of the runoff love. I have a feeling I’ll be a regular soon enough. Beyond the drinks, we had to go all out New York and we shared a pizza. We ordered the(no longer on the menu) Delancey, which consisted of meatballs and jalapeños. Now, being two weeks out of NY, I’m not going to lie and say it’s New York pizza… but it was pretty good. The meatballs had some good flavor and the jalapeños added some nice spice. I will order it again for sure. Overall, between the atmosphere, drinks, food, and people I had a great experience here and look forward to the many to come.

Tried this place for the first time after a trip to Amoebas. My son loves pizza so we decided to try a place we normally wouldn’t go to… The place was very clean and although it was empty when we arrived, others did get there after us. We ordered the large pepperoni pizza and a meatball appetizer dish that was delicious! The pizza was also very good, so good we ordered a second large pizza!!! Overall I think we’ll come back next time we’re in Hollywood again. Their bar looks very well stocked so we definitely have to come back for a drink next time!

Been here since the late ’80’s and I finally found good pizza. Plus each of their pizzas is named after a place in NYC. Nice. Just enjoyed a Bay Ridge, myself. They are also strong on pasta and appetizers. The place has notes of the classic neighborhood Italian places — but instead of bright red upholstery they’ve gone with wine colored finishes. So muted, but cool. Speaking of wine, they have a nice variety of inexpensive; mostly Italian whites and reds. You won’t get wine shock when you get your bill, which is always nice. And the service is terrific. So come for the pizza, and keep adding a different pasta or appetizer as you work your way through the many pies of NYC. Also they play a lot of Elvis Costello, Clash and Talking Heads and that’s always nice when you’re out.

Delancey, what happened? My favorite with the potatoes is no more! It’s been a while, but I still remember the taste of that pizza… Guess this is me at fault for not being more consistent with my visits. I always seem to enjoy the items that are taken off the menu. This gives me an excuse to try some of their pasta dishes, I suppose. Nice, dark interior where you don’t feel like you’re in California, much less Sunset Blvd. smack dab in Hollywood. Service was okay, nothing to write home about, but not terrible where one won’t visit again. If you want Italian and you find yourself in this area, Delancey is a MUCH choice better than Fabiolus up the street…

I got there on a Friday night and it was extremely noisy to the point we couldn’t hold a conversation until some people left. Food: The pizzas we tried were very good and they gave good selection of wine and beers.

Background: I came here as a GNO event with my mom, cousin and aunt. We were trying to cheer my mom up who is in the middle of a divorce. So I said what better than drinks and pizza to make her happy! Environment: It was definitely hip, but it was not –bring a 60+ year old hip– It was loud and busy with a bunch of 20 – 40 year olds hip. Food: Pizza was delicious. Their bruschetta with date/goat cheese/balsamic was to die for. I mean– they should really make a ginormous pizza out of it. Service: I wanted to make it a point that I pay for the meal. So I slipped the hostess my card before we walked in and said charge it. But at the end of the night the waitress brought the bill. Arg! I have tried this before and the waitresses usually forget :(Other than that. Service was great! I also made reservations and they made sure to hold a nice spot for us.(It seemed like they didn’t get reservations often) Summary: i would come here again but probably bring a younger, more rowdy crowd.

All I can review is the Potato Gnocchi with wild boar and sage. This dish is pretty phenomenal. The gnocchi is soft and pillowy(not sure if that’s a real word) and has a slight toast — soooo good. The boar tastes pretty good, there’s plenty of protein in this dish– no complaints there. The only thing I didn’t care for was the amount of olives, there was a whole lot of them. My favorite part was these hydrated sage leaves and the sauce. That sauce was magic. I seriously tried to get every last drop. I will dream of that sauce until we are reunited once again… Service was super!
