The store is a historic landmark in Los Angeles! It’s beautiful on the outside. The service is excellent. I love that the staff speaks both English and Spanish. I like buying from family run businesses. They give tons of money back to the communities they serve. I think everyone should support this local business.

I love this place… bought so my things since 2013. Prices have been about the same as without credit. I used to get a lot of stuff at rent-a-center and it was usually a lot more to get stuff on credit then say buying it at a retailer outright. Out of all the sales people I only felt rushed by one person. Clearance section always has good stuff, tons of electronics furniture, bikes, tires, I’ve traveled with their financed plane tickets. I dig it.

0 stars. I made the mistake of buying a coffee table here. They use a carbon copy machine if you use a credit card. Two days later there was a fraudulent charge of $ 500 on my card. This place is full of snakes. I feel bad for the people they take advantage of. Don’t shop here.

Horrible service. Took my couch cushions in to get new covers since they were messing up. I took in the whole cushions when I went back to pick it up they were only giving me the cover. WTH what am I suppose to do with that? I asked the guy and his response was«I haven’t been here I just got back from vacation» what good does that do me? They told me the covers were going to be free and when I got there they were charging me 130!!! The man who helped me than told me you can take the covers and pick up the plush at the other store. What good does that do me again? If I dropped something off to get it fixed wouldn’t they return it to me fully finished. This store has horrible service.

Went in to take a look because my roomies swear by this place. I needed a new macbook pro and was told they had them there, which they did. For $ 800MORE than a brand new one on the actual Apple website! WTF??? I thought the prices were supposed to be competitive?! And that was just for the base model! I could even get a new macbook with the retina display screen included for a couple hundred dollars cheaper! Craziness! How the hell do they think they can mark up the prices by almost a grand? Yeah, no thanks. I’ll just save my pennies and buy a new one outright from a less shady retailer.

I spoke on the phone with the Vice President Angel Lopez and he was rude and tried to intimidate me, because his company sold a defective product to my uncle and my uncle was asking that they repair it or exchange it for the same product or something of equal or lesser value. Then he got further upset because his staff wanted to coerce my aunt and uncle to purchase a more expensive item therefore placing my aunt and uncle in further debt. I advised my uncle that it was not fiscally responsible to go into deeper debt. So Mr. Lopez was so livid he was screaming on the phone. I calmly explained that customer service is reliant on fair and equatable business practices and if he did not comply I was going to contact the California department of consumer affairs and place a complaint. I feel that this place takes advantages of its consumers. Please do not shop there.

I will be addressing several issues(in the next few weeks) with Dearden’s on 700 S. Main St., Downtown Los Angeles as I gather my notes and memories of my experience as a long time(several years) relationship with this business. Using this Unilocal*website was long overdue. For starters, I just want to state that if you have BAD, POOR or NO credit, this business will work with you in developing a credit limit that you can(hopefully) manage. Dearden’s offers it’s own credit(«loans»), at extremely high interest rates, and my suggestion is to stay away unless you have no other option. I will continue to add information. Thanks.

Save yourself the hassle and choose a different store to purchase your items! I wanted to buy a new bed and saw an ad that Dearden’s sent out that promised low prices, 0% financing and a free DVD with purchases over $ 400. I figured I would give the neighborhood place a chance. Boy was I wrong… I visited the store on 9÷2÷12 to take advantage of the labor day specials. The young lady who helped me out was nice enough. She showed me what they had in stock and i chose a bed within 45 minutes at the most. 3 hours later I’m still waiting to be approved for financing. She said i could have my furniture by Thursday but since I am at work during the day and she couldn’t promise a delivery time, I opted for a Saturday delivery when I knew I’d be home. Fast forward to 4pm on Saturday, I call the store to find out the status of my delivery and after being transferred a good 5 times, I find out my items are not in stock and can’t be delivered until the 26th. WTF!!! Why wasn’t I told the items were not in stock when I placed the order? Why didn’t I get a call saying they wouldn’t be delivering when promised? Absolutely dreadful customer service. Needless to say, I was pretty livid as I had been sleeping on the floor for half a week since I gave away my old furniture to make room for the new. I went to the store on Sunday 9÷9÷12 to cancel my order altogether and I had to wait to speak to the manager for 45 minutes. He didn’t even look me in the eye, he just handed over a voucher for my $ 175 deposit back and a cancellation contract. I couldn’t be more disgusted with Dearden’s. I took a trip to Living Spaces that same Sunday, placed an order which turned out to be better quality and cheaper in price, and had it delivered that same night. Lesson learned.

This department store has been here for 100 years. Furniture, refrigerators, washers, dryers, televisions, electronics, housewares, toys… this multi-floor store has a great selection of items for the home at competitive prices. They even offer a variety of services, from travel and money transfers to income tax. If you live in or near downtown, this is a great place to shop. Interesting note: all employees speak both English and Spanish.

Bought some cables here for my stereo. Nice people. It’s near the historic core and it was great not having to leave Downtown to buy something. They have a strange assortment of furniture and appliances that look like they might have been in style 4 years ago. It appears they have more floor space dedicated to cucbicles for loan officers signing people up for high interest credit than merchandise. Very nice people though, they sold me my cables and I was on my way.
