I got to tell you that this place makes darn good sandwiches! Their pastrami is well prepared. The reason that it’s not a 4 star review is that the prices are slightly inflated and the interior isn’t too inviting. It’s a bit cluttered and can be confusing. I’ve been coming to this place for the past 5 years. I work about 2 miles away and when I want something better than a Subway, I’ll come here. I was just there the other day and thought I should drop a Unilocal review. When you walk into this place, you are met with a wall of clutter. You turn to your left and walk down the counter to turn to the place where you make your order. The people there are friendly. When I went there, despite the good pastrami, I got the French dip. I was ordering for to people. I got the large French Dip and the Small French dip. For a total of about $ 20. I ordered it to go. Of the times that I’ve been here the wait time is not long, but take a seat and relax. Coming here for a while, I knew the combination. Order here first, then walk next door, get in another line to get a coffee, come back, and the food should generally be ready to go. I k now that this place has been around for a while. I frequent this place at least once a month for the past 5 years. The food is what makes people keep coming back. My only con about the past is the customer experience. They have an entire dining area, but of all the times that I’ve been there(which is always in the afternoon, maybe it’s different at different parts of the day), I’ve never seen anyone sit down to eat. It’s always orders to go and people sitting at the tables waiting to go. The interior hasn’t changed in the past 5 years. I wish that they would declutter the inside and make it more inviting. The food and service are fine. The reason this is an average review is for the interior décor and walking away paying $ 20 for two sandwiches, IMHO, is a bit much. All that being said… Will I return… Of Course! The food here is what makes this a place for people to come back to!

Great place for a fast, delicious lunch. I go here at least once a week — the BLT with avocado is a favorite, and the paninis are very good too. The eat-in area is kind of crowded and I suggest they get a family-style long table but the service is fast, attentive, and very friendly. Nice patio seating, too.

I am in love with the Ruben sandwich. I always say I’m gonna try something new buuut have yet to do so. That being said, this Ruben sandwich is bomb! They don’t skimp on the meat like some places do, they have a perfect amount of sauerkraut, pickles, meat and 1000 island dressing. It all balances perfectly. This review will be updated when I actually try something else… Until then, Ruben sandwich all the way!!!

Great place excellent service, patio to sit outside or tables inside. The food is really awesome whatever you order you won’t regret it that’s for sure. I did forget my fountain drink in my order, but the great tasting food made up for it believe me… I definitely recommend this place to all that like great food and trying new things anyone can cook l, but only a few are truly extraordinary!

Usually come in for a Classic Club, great sandwich. Boars head meat, very good quality. The price is right, you pay for what you eat. Today I decided to try a Philly cheese steak. Warm sandwich, very tasty, next time I’ll go for the chipotle. I have been coming here for years now, never fails to satisfy me. Dave is a great guy! Keep it up.

Decent sandwich spot. Affordable, conveniently located next to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and decent staff. Their sandwiches and wraps a definitely worth a try. They have a pretty big selection. I mainly come here for their soups which are different everyday. Some of the best Cream of Mushroom soup I’ve ever had is from this spot. The one thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the wait. It’s not a huge deal but they could definitely work on getting their food out faster especially when all I order is a soup and there’s literally 0 prep time in pouring it in a bowl. I’m a regular and will continue to be.

I have been coming to Dave’s Deli for 5 years and it is by far the best sandwich place in town. The prices are reasonable and it’s the perfect spot for lunch. My office in downtown LA even orders catering from Dave’s Deli about once a month. I would recommend the Chicken for something light or the Pastrami for something heavy.

kind of price for the product…$ 10 for a roast beef sandwitch on sourdough warmed. The sandwich was only partially cut in half. there was only about 3 slices of thin beef on it. plied high with letuce. The bread was so thin that the sandwich fell apart in my hands just picking it up. The beef on the sandwich was nothing like the picture of the sub on Unilocal.I don’t recomend this place.

To me, Dave works because it’s so close to my work. So I’m pretty much guaranteed to be a repeat customer. That being said, their sandwiches are just fine and their prices are a bit high for what they’re offering and the amount of delicious cheap food within 3 miles.

I think it’s this location I had dropped by while my physical exam visit. I was looking for food, and this place has caught my interest among others. I ordered chicken salad appetizer for 1.60, very small cup. Luckily, I was looking for food after my exam visit, so I wasn’t able to eat a lot. otherwise I would be damn hungry lol.

About two years ago we started eating here. The service and food were really good. While the food is still tasty it is not worth the price and trouble of getting a table. We no long go to this deli for lunch. They have reduced available seating to handle their delivery business and the prices seemed to go up every time we went in. The girl at the counter that was helpful and friendly is gone and the man that runs the register now is sour and doesn’t seem like he cares about walk in customers. I hope the delivery business is working for him, the walk in traffic has fallen way off. I won’t be back.

One of my go-to spots when I need a quick bite to eat. They have everything from soups to gigantic subs. I’ve tried quite a few of their wraps as well as sandwiches and subs. My favorite wrap is the chicken hummus. On days when I’m not watching what I’ll eat I’ll order the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak. Great stuff. Definitely like how quick they get their orders out.

So amazing to find something so yummy when your in East LA. I mean really you have a mecca of yummy Mexican food and outside of the chain sandwich places really choices are SLIM. But behold! Dave’s Deli, which I often find myself calling George’s since the really great guy there IS George. :-) Squaw bread IS the way to go. Now as for meat and variety you will get LOST in the menu. SOMANYCHOICES and SOMANY ways to make your yummy sammy a party in your mouth. I love a place where you can ask for suggestions and the people there can suggest something GREAT. NO it’s NOT a $ 5 sandwich BUT it’s well worth it. Sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink you will hit the $ 10 mark depending on which size sandwich you grab. YUMMY and worth it. treat yourself
