NOTE: This review is for DRINKS and the GENERALATMOSPHERE only! I have only heard the best things about Daily Dose café, and so I think my expectations were too high, which is why I can only give this café 3 stars. To better understand my rating, I’m going to just break it down into sections and explain how my experience was. Aesthetic: 5 stars This café is BEAUTIFUL. Located within an alleyway, this café is covered with strips of Christmas lights and tables shaped like teardrops and commas. The exterior is beautiful in every way, and most definitely Instagram-worthy. However, I should note that as far as I can tell, there was no indoor seating, so maybe only come here on a warm day. Drinks: 3.5 stars I am not a coffee drinker, so I went right to the tea menu, which had a front and back side – already a good sign for me. I opted for the Mango Black Tea, which needed a bit of sweetener but overall was pretty good. The menu said it came with pieces of fruit in it, but as far as I could tell there weren’t actually any. The price was reasonable for a gourmet tea(about $ 5). Study space: 2.5 stars This is NOT a good place to study for many reasons. First of all, there are no outlets outside, so if you run out of battery on your computer, you’re screwed. Secondly, the Internet here is not only spotty, but you can also only use it for an hour before it logs you out. If you only need to read or write the old-fashioned way, then this is a perfectly suitable space to relax with little to no noise bothering you, but otherwise, opt for a library or somewhere with Internet! I would love to try the food here sometime, but I am not itching to come back unless someone else asks me to. I had a fine enough experience, but there are better places in Los Angeles to spend my time.

I dig. It’s tough to find which makes me love it more. The outdoor seating is so awesome in a hidden alley. There’s also indoor seating, which I just found out about. The menu is really simple. Their kitchen isn’t huge so it’s a miracle they can pull it all off. They used to carry Mem tea which I love, but they’re changing tea vendors. Fingers crossed there. You’ll get a nice full pot when you order tea. I love the breakfast items. I got the eggs with Japanese yams last time. YES. Service is pretty quick, you order inside and they’ll bring your food out.

Daily dose is one of my favorite coffee houses/restaurants. The location is hidden, but it’s a very soothing place to enjoy your coffee, or a conversation with someone. All their items are healthy and a lot of their stuff is organic too. They usually brew local coffees, which is also great. One of my favorites is their Buena Vista. It’s Cuban coffee with a twist. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also have a community library for book lovers =) Last but not least, on Mondays they host a free life drawing event that takes place at or around 7pm

Came here for brunch with a friend on Saturday. The area doesn’t have much around it, but the café itself is super cute! I got an egg omelette sandwich, which tasted yummy. You order inside and it is brought out to you, but that day they only had one person on staff so it was a bit hectic. Otherwise a nice experience :)

At first, I was kind of lost looking for the entrance to order food but once I found it I was amazed at all the good foods on the menu. I ordered the Mechanic(I think that’s the name of it) and even though I was expecting something a bit different, I loved my sandwich but wouldn’t really go back for more. Unless I’m in the area or having friends visit and they want to check out a hip place to eat in the Arts District Coffee was okay! Service was really good, the womyn behind the counter was helpful in answering questions I had about the menu

I almost missed the restaurant when walking past. There is a small sign that points into an alleyway which houses the cute café. Foooood: I ordered the farmer. Personally, I don’t really like beets and I forgot to tell them to omit them so it kinda threw off the taste. But the parts without it were pretty good. The ancho chili jam with the pesto were surprisingly good. The flavors with the avocado and the olive bread blended well also. I didn’t touch the side salad though, the portion was too big for a small eater like me lol, I ended up taking half home. BTW japanese beets. 1st timer. Pretty good. I liked the whole lowkey-ness of it though. It was well-decorated and fits my aesthetics :-) and you put your own dishes in the wash tub, which made me feel helpful hahahah. Overall, I would definitely recommend this and I want to come back sometime to try other items.

Was going on an Esotouric tour while I was in town, and they tell you to meet them here. So I decided to go a little early and grab a bite. They really should put a sign above the second door on the left for newbies. I had to ask someone where to go, because I felt like I’d be walking into the kitchen if I went in that door. But that’s where you go. I ordered a Margot sandwich, which was utterly delicious and incredibly messy. I got some of the free lemon water with it. Anything else was just heavy and unnecessary. Also got a bottle of water, since it was REALLY hot while I was there(August), and I knew I’d need it for the tour. The courtyard is completely charming, reminiscent of a country town in France somewhere. Hard to believe you’re in an industrial area of L.A.

Come here for the ambiance but not necessarily the food. Daily Dose Café is a great place to grab a cup of coffee/tea with a friend and sit out in a cute alley way with strung lights and long wooden tables — who wouldn’t like it?! It’s an adorable place — I enjoyed it more than Urth. I got the sunny side which was three sunny side up eggs, with a side of bread and purple yams & this amazing sauce on it. I don’t find anything spectacular about the food here — it’s a good, solid breakfast/brunch place if you want a more low-key brunch. I did enjoy the sauce on the yams though and found that to be the best part — food wise.

This is the cutest little enchanting hidden alley in downtown, which makes it a super cute, romantic, and quiet place to have a lovely cup of coffee. But don’t eat here because the food is not amazing. The omelettes were dry and salty. And they don’t have regular ketchup. They only have their homemade spicy one, which is fine but they charge you $ 2 for it. :( Although it’s marked as kid-friendly, it’s actually not unless you bring your own high chair. There is only one for the whole restaurant. When we went there, we were using the high chair so when another family showed up, they were out of luck. IMPORTANTTIP: It’s NOT free parking across the street.(I went on a Saturday). Street parking is free but sparse.

If you’re looking to stay away from the loud and overly crowded DtLA for a weekend brunch, Daily Dose Café is a good option. The feel of Daily Dose will lure you in. The restaurant is indoors with limited indoor seating. Outside seating is more abundant and picturesque which is an area located between two buildings with communal bench seating spanning from end to end of the building. Vines on the buildings, overhead lighted trellis, and brick paving give this place an added curb appeal. Breakfast is served all day on weekends. The menu is mainly fruit salad bowls, sandwiches, salads, and egg dishes. I ordered The Ace and friends ordered The Scramble. The Ace is a four egg omelet with mortadella, onions, jalapeño, and a side salad with lemon/olive oil and toast. My order was good, not great. Pretty average actually and the omelet was a bit overcooked. I ordered a side baguette which came with butter and an apple type jam that was delicious but only the size of 3 fingers. The omelet came with a spicy house ketchup which was pretty good. The prices here are above average. Something you’d expect in the Arts District. The add on’s for a toasted baguette for $ 1, butter for $ 1, spicy house ketchup $ 2, mustard $ 2, and a cup of ice $ 0.50 is a bit ridiculous. Service here is just okay. Wasn’t anything special. Overall, the dishes here are average. The overall experience and ambiance is what makes this place better than average. Worth a visit and for some photo opps.

This café is such a gem! I mean where else can you post up for lunch in LA with FREEPARKING and don’t have to drive for a half hour to find it, I’ll wait… EXACTLY! I heard a few things about this place so I had one day free for lunch and met up with a friend to knock off our bookmark. I went with the Jive Turkey because love some MEAT(for the most part). I can honestly say this has to be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. *star rating level uP* I haven’t had too many sandwiches with bean sprouts on top of turkey, and that spicy aioli to give me a kick! My friend picked up The Farmer for their vegan option. She praised the sandwich as well as the cappuccino she got with it. They also had delicious cookies up front when you order so of course that add-on worked on me when I bought two vegan, gluten-free Chocolate Chip Cookies(LOL) for all you hipsters into that gluten-free stuff. This restaurant had a great ambiance to go with the food. Inside the shop seemed too dark for my liking so I decided to dine outside in the garden oasis that has string lights overhead with rustic metallic beams and rods, finished off with the red RED brick. It’s perfect to have that getaway quiet garden area to have an intimate meal with whomever. So what are you waiting for? GOOO

There’s plenty of 2 hour street parking for free and the alley way where you eat at is super cute and hip! It was 55 degrees this morning so I do wish they had heat lamps but the coffee kept me warm. My friend and I showed up around 8:30. I had the Margot(breakfast sandwich inside a ciabatta with eggs, avocados, feta, jalapeños, tomato and ketchup) with a dirty chai latte and my friend had an iced chai with the avocado toast. The food and lattes were all delicious, but I thought $ 6 for coffee was a bit too pricey. The workers were all friendly, and the inside is adorable(although indoor seating would’ve been nice too considering the weather). The sandwich was very flavorful but not overwhelmingly flavorful. I wouldn’t come here too often since it’s a bit pricey, but I do really enjoy the ambience as well as the food and drinks!

4.4 stars for ambience! If it were just for food though, I’d say 3.7 stars. Also, our server was little bit anal about the breakfast/lunch cutoff. Even though we were only 20 minutes away from the lunchtime, he was adamant about us only ordering breakfast items. Though he later changed his mind and allowed us to get lunch items, it just didn’t roll well with me. Customer is king, mind you! Overall, this place is just super cute, cozy, and classy feeling. It has a fresh, outdoor picnic vibe. The food is pricey but it’s good. I had the fruit salad and yogurt item because I was not that hungry. The fruit selection was actually very good! :D

I tried the Jive Turkey and The Tailor here. Both sandwiches are pretty good, if you don’t mind the hard bread. I felt like I had to really use my jaw. Out of the two, I prefer the turkey more. If you want meat in your sandwich, the turkey is a good pick. Sandwiches are about $ 12. Kinda pricey for me. And I kinda wanted more food even after the sandwich. The sandwiches were kinda big and a includes a small salad. There’s seating outside This place is located in what seems like an alleyway. Overall, nice ambiance, nice place to try, but if you’re looking for something special or with a wow-factor, I don’t think so.

Daily Dose Café is situated in a little alley way on Industrial. It’s actually not too hard to miss since there is blackboard with the restaurant’s name on it. It’s a cute little alleyway that has tables for the patrons to eat on. The dangling lights are a good plus and the shrubbery adds a natural vibe. The actual service counter is inside one of the buildings. The service is real friendly and the staff is open to any questions you have. The food is good but the value you get isn’t worth it. I was still fairly hungry after my $ 12 egg dish. I had four medallions of sweet potato, half an open face egg sandwich, small slice of baguette with s0me apple marmalade. Everything tasted well, but I’m a cheapskate when it comes to feeling I’m getting my money’s worth. I can pay a hundred for a meal and feel good about it if I felt it was worth it. This is something I can make easily for ¼ of the price at home. I’d come here for if I friend dragged me here and I’d probably get a good snack out of it but couldn’t honestly recommend it.

PARKING: If you’re coming from the south it tells you to turn right on Mill street. The restaurant will be on the right but you won’t be able to turn right because it’s a one way street so try to find street parking on Mill street. If not, circle around until you find something, we didn’t have a hard time. ATMOSPHERE: You’ll see the sign pointing you in the right direction. This place is famous for their alley-way seating with string lights all on top. It’s mostly wooden long tables and then the first door has seating inside that doubles as an art gallery as well. Make sure you go to the second door that looks like it’s a kitchen and that is where you order. Get your number, sit down and they bring the food to you. One thing I noticed about the people who work here, they do not like it when you ask a lot of questions. Not sure if they are annoyed at the people who come because they see it on instagram or if they just don’t like people questioning what is in the food. FOOD: My family got the farmer sandwich, a breakfast plate and Manuella’s delight. FARMERSANDWICH — this was recently listed as one of the best sandwiches in LA. It’s entirely vegetarian with purple yam, beet(?), guac, burrata cheese, nutless vegan pesto, and I want to say yellow yam all on slightly crusty olive bread and a side salad. A person with a good appetite could finish the entire thing otherwise share. The sandwich is THICK, and very messy. I had to use a fork and eat it in layers otherwise it wouldn’t fit in my mouth. The flavors are sweet, with a slight savory touch from the bread and guac. It wasn’t the best sandwich I’ve had but it was pretty good. Worth trying if you like sandwiches. The bread was really crusty and flavorful. My dad really enjoyed his breakfast platter with the sliced ham. My sister thought the Manuella’s delight was good and light, she is allergic to dairy so that was really good for her. Overall, come here to take good pictures and enjoy eating in an alleyway with string lights. Healthy food and drinks, everything is home made even the hot sauce(which, I heard was really good).

The Guildsmith seemed to be the most popular sandwich, so I decided to give it a try. It came with a side salad which was simple but nicely dressed. The sandwich was very filling but the fried cheese made it heavy. The amount of cheese and bread was a bit excessive for my liking. I was only able to eat half of it. There were good quality ingredients inside the sandwich, but I think this was one of those instances where less would have been better. My coworker got a little thing of kale salad and it was really nothing special and super over priced for what it was. What I do love about Daily Dose Café is the atmosphere! They have this whimsical little alleyway outside where there are wooden picnic tables and huge umbrellas set up for you to enjoy your meal outside. I think I would frequent this place more for chillen outside with some coffee rather than coming back for the food.

As you walk into the alleyway, you are welcomed by patches of green and lights hanging from wall to wall. This litle gem in the wall is the perfect place for a Sunday brunch with your significant other. You order inside then find a table outside to eat :) FOOD *Margot $ 9 — two scrambled eggs with feta cheese, avocado, chives, tomato, jalapeño on toasted ciabatta Bf ordered this, it was pretty good. *On the Sunny side $ 9 — 3 fried eggs on a toasted baguette, roasted yams, butter and house jam Love that they use local farmers market ingredients to create all their dishes. the ingredients are organically locally produced; non GMO! YAY!

Torn because while I do appreciate the beauty that is their outdoor alley, the food is eh. Ordered a mushroom jalepeno breakfast fritatta about the size of a tiny muffin and came out to $ 7. I also had the strawberry pastry which was decent but nothing special. Cream tasted store bought at best and the pastry shell was below average even after being warmed. Daily Dose is cute in its earnestness but reminds me of a place that tries too hard. Perhaps go for less of «elite hipster» and more of «industrial cute.» This would soften the image, as it’s not currently a place I’d schedule a friend or co-worker to meet up at. You’re not paying for quality of food here — you’re paying for the freshly cut flowers at every wooden table and hand stamped pastry sheets with the Daily Dose graphic.
