This is the most wonderful musical theater program on the Westside. It’s no contest! The quality of the shows are fantastic, but most importantly the children are taught to believe in themselves, to respect and trust one another, to be responsible and to work hard. The friendships built are so beautiful and true. I feel lucky to have Cheryl in my children’s lives. She cares deeply about all of her students and allows them blossom with they are ready. My kids consider Creative Kids their home away from home… and for that I am so grateful.

Both my daughters [ages 13 and 16] have been with Creative Kids Youth Theater Project for about 8 years now. They have performed in atleast 10 theater productions. I know first hand what Cheryl can bring to these young minds. Not only do they learn about how to perform in front of a curtain, but they learn about what’s behind it. As my 16 year old daughter has moved into the older group, she she is now learning about production by assisting in lighting, staging, props, make up and costuming while helping the younger casts. In addition, she is still performing and learning in theater productions. I’ve seen the director, Cheryl, in action, as I’ve stayed to watch many practices. She commands the respect of children at different ages. From three year olds who dance and sing and say lines, to the tumultuous ups-and-downs of teenagers who can perform with grace and power. She always draws out their best. She loves her students and is such a wonderful role model for children in various age groups. My daughters cannot wait for the day they work with her and the cast. They enjoy the process as well as the final outcome. They have learned about collaboration, patience, process, disappointment [not receiving roles they were hoping for or missing lines], and the personal power of achievement. Really, her rehearsals are the metaphor for life and I trust my girls in her care to help guide them through it.
