What any gallery needs: knowledgeable staff, talented stable of artists. CHG has both.

Great, great gallery! I like that it is very clean and inviting. I feel like the space and the artists involved reflect a really high standard of art. I look forward to seeing great art shows and always feeling inspired at Corey Helford Gallery.

Parking is hard, you’re lucky if u find some on the side streets! But the vibe is great, the spaces are nice and the art, if you’re into underground-pop-surrealism, this place would interest you.

I love this gallery. I’ve been here twice now for two different art shows. Though its not as «big» as the main gallery, Corey Helford gallery, which is two doors down, it has this space and ability to be used in a creative way to make the whole space part of the art show. With the useful news press release near the door, as well as the pricing guide for the art on display for sale, the set up is simple and easy to go through. The first show I checked out was«Innocence» by Eine, which converted the insides of Circa into the London Underground, with environment noises like the subway and trains and chatter being played, and the walls covered with not only the art that’s being displayed, but the whole walls had that tagged brick look to it. It was amazing(and thankfully, it didn’t smell like a subway, so hooray). The second time I visited Circa is for Luke Chueh’s «random Acts of Sadness», that is running from August 10, 2013 — September 7, 2013. The set up, completely different, with bare walls with the paintings showing out more with the clean walls. I can understand why galleries are closed when they have to rearrange and change or strip down set ups to set up the next show. Maybe some time soon though, I can afford a print from there.

What an amazing space! I had the best time here viewing a collection of illustrations. Everything was wonderfully presented and the staff very friendly. I look forward to future exhibits.

One of the better art galleries in Los Angeles. A smaller space, but they show good work from talented artists and have had some pretty great group shows. Make sure to find out if they’re open(maybe sign up on their mailing list) if you’re interested in visiting, I’ve driven out before just to find they’re closed for instillation(which happens with all galleries so it’s good to check).

love this spot! the gallery is kinda small, but has two stories. went recently for the Chloe Early exhibit and a few doors down to the CHG Circa gallery for the Sylvia Ji «La Catrina» exhibit… and i was just blown away by the sheer talent of both artists. i ended up walking away with an older Sylvia Ji print of «Lilac Lily» from 2011, which was signed by her(only 50 prints made). will definitely be coming back to for the Crucifixion exhibit coming up on Dec 15th! the staff was very friendly and patient with my friends and i as we perused through the available prints. definitely a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

The London Police will be unveiling new works collectively entitled«For Dogs Sake» at Corey Helford’s main space in Culver City this Saturday October 13, 2012. The main theme revolving around the show is their love of dogs and will feature personal artworks as well as contributions from artists such as D*Face, Shepard Fairey, Logan Hicks, Jeremy Fish, and more. The exhibition will also show a DOGumentary and new TLP sculptures.

This gallery has a knack for showing interesting, talented artists. It has one ground floor and a bit of space at the top where you can talk to staff if you need to. Otherwise, it’s easy to roam and look at the art on the walls. The inside doesn’t look too different from other galleries but it’s the art that is chosen that really pops out. This is definitely not a place if you’re not looking to spend too much on art — the pieces shown there are usually very expensive. But if you’re strolling by Culver City anyway, it’s definitely worth visiting.

WAS so upset today when I drove all the way from the valley to Culver City to see the Buff Monster exhibit only to not be let in because they were installing a new show. Ok, first of all, the gallery hours are 12 – 6 T-S, and secondly Buff Monster’s show is supposed to run until May 5th. I was upset that I was out of town for the opening but happy to have today off work to go see it. I double-checked the hours before making the drive, and when I got there all the shades were down. I rang the entrance bell, and first a guy came to the door and told me he wasn’t sure what time the gallery opened(it was nearly 1p at this point). Then a woman came to the door and told me they were closed for the day to install a new show, and that I could come back tomorrow. I told her that I had driven from the valley to see Buff Monster and she said«sorry». I also work at a gallery, and I would let someone in right away if they had driven 45 minutes to see a show on a day the gallery was supposed to be open. I was really turned off, and so sad because now I won’t be seeing on of my favorite artist’s shows! Unfortunately, I won’t be going back again.

If you happen to be in Culver City Art District, one of the hottest spot to visit is the Corey Helford Gallery. What’s fascinate me about this particular gallery is the worldwide range of talented artists and most amazing unique piece of art. Very artistic and every piece of art tells a story… Corey Helford Gallery established in April 2006 by Jan Corey Helford and her husband, television producer and creator, Bruce Helford.(Drew Carey Show, George Lopez, The Oblongs). Passionate art collectors, the Helfords are producers on the art documentary«The treasures of Long Gone John» and partnered to open their first gallery. The gallery presents a wide range of artists, from members of the new fine arts movement, such as Gary Baseman, Josh Agle(SHAG), Buff Monster, COOP, Natalia Fabia, Korin Faught, Sylvia Ji, Eric Joyner and award-winning photographer Chris Anthony, to early Modernist William S. Schwartz. to name a few. To view more of their past exhibits at the Culver City Artwalk event 2010 please visit my website at:

Located in the heart of the Culver City arts district, I discovered this place thanks to my friend who had an invite for an exhibit opening featuring jello/gummy bear inspired art works. Small and cozy but having a back room used for serving drinks and snacks, its a good place to hang out with art-minded friends or take a date. Plus they had a hot dog truck outside and were giving vouchers for FREEFOOD with no cover to attend the gallery. Pretty awesome. According to my friend the Corey Helford gallery hosts many exhibitions for hip/offbeat works of arts, making it more fun than you think.

Corey Helford Gallery is a dope spot, in size, art work, and atmosphere. I like the fact that this gallery is two stories. They have a lot of good artists doing shows here. On opening nights the place gets super packed that you’ll be going in and out of the gallery because it tends to get really hot inside with the lights and the amount of people in there. They always have a room as a bar on the bottom floor. With bar style tables to chill and drink at. They usually have the same people bar-tending and the dudes are dicks some times. Girls, don’t even try to use their bathroom haha there’s always a line but you might as well slip into the guys bathroom since it usually empty. But dope lively spot to check out. All street parking but it’s not too bad you can go gallery hoping also if there are other openings in the area.

This is the one gallery in Los Angeles that I can send people looking to see some good art and not need to look on their website — because they are always showing good art. I have been to many openings here & I always enjoy myself. Some of my favorite painters & friends exhibit here: Sarah Folkman, Natalia Fabia, Gary Baseman, and Korin Faught.

CHG is my favorite gallery, hands down. Jan and Bruce run a warm, lovely space and are great to work with when purchasing art. They are true art collectors themselves and know a LOT about low-brow art. I’ve been going to shows here for about 3 years now and bought several paintings. Their openings are always a fun, lively affair with major eye-candy in both the paintings and patrons alike!

The Corey Helford Gallery is a beautiful space, with two floors to exhibit art, a glass façade, and a high ceiling. Warm lighting and a cushy bench make the place quite comfortable. The staff(Jae and others) were friendly: unsure who he was exactly(the owner?), but a staffer invited me to take photos when we saw my camera. We saw Buff Monster’s show, «The Sweetest Thing», full of whimsical and light pieces with crazily cute powder puff images. While there, we got a sneak preview of the next show, and had the opportunity to purchase high-quality Buff Monster prints. Check out the current show(and past ones) yourself, right on the Corey Helford Gallery’s web site! Worth a visit.
