One of few places in the UV food court that’s actually good. Love their fried plantains and whichever meat is the fatty brisket-type roast. They cut the meat to order and trim the fat and dry bits so the cut they weigh and you pay for is quality. Occasionally the meat’s a bit dry, but that’s what garlic rice and garlic potatoes are for! Plates are priced by weight, a good reminder to not overstuff. The lady who usually works the cash register is really nice and recognized me after only my second or third time there. Too bad I didn’t discover this place until late junior year at USC.

Great! Went there several months ago when I was still working at USC. I enjoyed the vegetarian food. I was surprised by the vegan-friendliness of the food and the fact that the stand was very clean.

Meh Its a great idea. LOve the food just around USC you might call it seasonal as in not a good idea during the summer when most students are away. Reason is the turn around for the meat choices is not high thus you get alot of overdone meat as its been sitting there a while. and yes its a little bit over salted as others have stated. Give it a try during the school year!

This place is no fogo de chao but it’s one of the better options in the UV. More pricey than everything around but at least here you choose exactly what you want to eat. The meats are a bit salty and for some reason they slice it rather thick. I still enjoy my picanha and the linguica sausage. I never get rice nor beans since I consider that a total waste of money. You pay by weight and I don’t want to pay $ 9 on a pound of rice or beans. I do like their salads, the fried polenta and the pao de quejo. Sometimes I just get like 10 – 12 bread balls and munch on them on the go. they do have a loyalty card where if you eat there 10 times you get a meal for free

The meat is WAY too salty, and undercooked. Some of the side dishes were okay but much too expensive for anything to be worth it. Not recommended, will not be back.

I’m a fan :) Pros: — Pay by weight — Plenty of sides and types of meats to choose from — Fried plantains!!! I LOVE fried plantains! And it’s charged based on weight, so you can totally just get 2 lbs of fried plantains if you want :) — Friendly service — They accept credit/debit cards Cons: — A bit expensive when you consider it’s in the UV. Come on, UV, get over yourself and stop charging actual restaurant prices! — The fried plantains were dried out in the middle last time I came here. Bummer. Nothing worse than biting into a fried plantain and realizing it’s dried out in the middle. OK, some things are worse, but I was really looking forward to yummy fried plantains. They were spot-on the other times I’ve come here. — They advertise pao de queijo(Brazilian cheese bread!) but I’ve never actually seen it … It’s never with the sides, and I haven’t seen it with the desserts, so I’m not sure where they’re hiding the pao de queijo … Be careful as you pile your plate with yummy food … The weight adds up quickly! A plate of food and a drink will run you around $ 11 – 14.

This place is too costly, more than it should be, in a area that is specifically meant to be for students. I liked this place initially but its beyond my budget. If you eat well, say by taking some rice, veggies and few pieces of meat, its bound to go above $ 10, and the first time I spent like $ 17 because I had no idea about the weight and I was going by what I can eat.

I was surprised to find this place on a recent trip to the«UV»(what the USC students call University Village, the strip mall that houses this little stand.) I love Brazilian food! I tried a green salad, corn salad, roasted vegetables, a little cheese ball and fried plantains. OH! And a chicken thigh… Green salad was okay, kinda soggy but tasty. Corn salad was good, roasted vegetables were good. The cheese ball was delicious, and the fried plantains were perfect — does it count as a fruit serving if it’s rolled in sugar and fried in oil, I wonder??? As for the chicken thigh, it was tasty and moist BUT flavor-wise it was nothing you can’t get at your local Boston Market. My only real complaint is that my meal was $ 11. Not that that’s expensive, but most of the eateries that cater to USC students tend to keep their prices south of $ 10. But then, I did have a pretty full plate…

i happened upon this place by chance, but was initially very happy that there’s something Brasilian near where i work. It’s located within the USC food court and you’d have to walk around some to find it The owner is actually the brother of the guy that owns Gaúcho’s Village in Glendale. Don’t know if that’s actually true, but i could see the resemblance! Anyway, they offer the option between just the salad bar or with the meat. Obviously, you don’t come here just for the salad bar! The owner wasn’t at the meat station when it was my turn to order, and the girl at the counter gave me some overcooked portions of picanha and alcatra(sirloin). The ones i could eat weren’t so bad, but i couldn’t eat most of my meats :( The rice/black beans(arroz/feijão) were decent and their farofa was most likely bought from a store in Brasil. Not bad, but definitely not made from scratch. Their potato salad was somewhat of a letdown; bland and not salted enough They didn’t have Guaraná Antartica at the time, so i skipped on that, but i had a açaí drink they were selling. Not too bad i’ll give the restaurant another go to be fair. This time, i’m gonna make sure the owner cuts my meat. i did tell him before i left about the overcooked meats and he said he’ll make it right next time

The meat was super salty and overcooked. I had 2 cuts of meat and sausage. The sides were decent. But given that the meat which is what you go to brazilian for, plus the higher than necessary prices, won’t be going again anytime soon.

uhmm. This place will fill you up, so many choices that sometimes is hard to decide on what to put on your plate. The rice and beans a must for brazilian food. Then I had some greek salad, farofa, fried plantain delicious, mashed potatoes, cheese bread(make sure they are fresh and soft, sometimes if left for a long time they get hard and not very good) Then lastly the meat, I suggest the top sirloin cap and/or Alcatra as best options. Please let the person know how you like your steak done, otherwise he will give you bloody red meat. The garlic beef it was a bit dry for my taste. The price, is just a little bit high for its location, you will end up paying around $ 10 for a good plate of food. A hard price to pay for USC student but it will fill you up and a lot healthier then fast food.
