Ordered from this place for a staff lunch. Delivery was prompt, excellent service and great tasting food! Everyone was very pleased with what was ordered (Chicken kebabs all around were a hit!) and the portions were huge!

This review is solely based on my last meal with them (Salmon Kabob).
Normally I would rate this place 4 stars for the food. You really don’t go there for an experience. So it’s hard to rate the atmosphere and service. You go there because it’s downtown and kosher. Period.
Again, food is normally fresh and tasty. Copious as well.
THAT IS IF you order meat. I hesitantly ordered the Salmon kabob yesterday and I should have listened to my guts: this was a big mistake. Fish is not their thing at all.
My salmon came beyond well done. It was extremely dry and very, very chewy. The cooking wasn’t the only issue: it is obvious this was frozen and got defrosted minutes before getting on the grill. It was very «fishy». I’m a fish lover so I know how to easily spot fresh /​vs. frozen fish. This was without the slightest doubt a good old piece of frozen salmon.
Clearly, they must get orders on fish so rarely that they just stock it and in all likelihood, my fish was months and months old.
Again, it was horribly overcooked. Who serves well done fish these days? Should be medium or medium rare. Not even close.
Never order fish there. They should actually remove it from their menu.
Stick with chicken, ground beef or beef steak.

Kosher restaurant in downtown Los Angeles decent service decent food much more room for improvement needed

Bad customer service, walked in and waited for 20 minutes without getting noticed. I came in with my family and was getting dirty looks from everyone inside. We asked for water and was told they don’t serve water. I’m arabic and i understand when I’m being discriminated against. Very disappointing! !!

Im here in Downtown at Cohen Restaurant for my very first time. The Tahdig is to die for. Im about to enjoy the Soltani and Shwarma with my Business Partners as we enjoy great conversation with the Business Owner, Kia. Amazing Food!

One of my favorite Persian restaurants. Great service and very tasty Kabbab.

I walked for more than 1.5 miles to use an online coupon I printed this morning in my entertainment book. The restaurant was completely empty and when I presented it to the owner, he said that he hasn’t been honoring entertainment coupons for more more than six months. I was let down and I felt that if he agreed to post in their book, he should have honored their coupon. I left the restaurant disgusted by his lack of ethics

I order from here at least once a week and the food and service is always fast and fresh. There are other good places around but this is by far one of my fav

I live close to downtown and this restaurant is one of my favorites. They have the best persian kabobs and burgers. It is a small restaurant but the quality of their food is awesome. The server is cool and funny and i get free salad everytime i order food. Im always welcomed there and i love the atmosphere.
I try to go there almost once a week and i really recommend you to go there.
I also ordered food for pick up for my friends and they made sure i get everything. I guess i need to go there now because im getting hungry.

Amazing food! My husband and I went to cohen’s Restuerant for lunch and had a great experience. Food was super delicious and fresh. Service was quick with a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be going back. I highly recommend tahdig with stew was great as well as their kabab!

The best Glatt Kosher food I have ever have. Their food is so delicious and not too pricy. I order from them almost every day and my wife loves their food too. i highly recommend their food and catering to everyone

Total Satisfaction.
I am very restricted with my diet as i only eat kosher food. Because of my business travels, i often visit downtown and for food, i go to Cohen Restaurant.
Its a small place that gives you personal attention. They have new items on the menu every day.
If you decide to go there, get the Sultani kabab with half rice & half salad. I love the kabab that they make. Its very juicy and comes with softness. Doesnt destroy your tooth.
They also have great fish that is fried or oven made. Either, dish, i think you will enjoy the food. The meat is always fresh and tender. The cook the food as you order an not leftover.
If you are in a rush as I am all the time, order your food in advance and you’ll have it once you get there.
TIPS: The persian tea after a heavy meal will help. I honestly recommend this place over the other ones. The also play soft music while you eat, LOve it !!!

Great service. Healthy food. Like the atmosphere. I liked the way they treat their customers, food is ready on table when they arrive.

I have eaten a lot of persian food at different restaurants but Cohen Restaurant has the best kosher food I have ever eaten. I always order food from them and my whole family enjoys it.
Their service is awesome and the oweners always took care of me.

Food is not good. Being Persian and kosher this food is not good. Flavor is bad. Chicken was not tasty and was dry. It is also overpriced for downtown. Bart was undercooked and they didn’t really care. Service was ok. They gave me 10% off at the end without asking

I have been at that Persion Kosher restaurant many times, over the past 6 years, with wife or coworkers. Quality has always been very good and very consistant. THE kosher restaurant in DT LA. It’s clean, comfortable and fresh food. This Alex J., below, was out of luck I think.

This place is No No, the food smell horrible and I am sure it taste bad. I order food yesterday, but it smelled so bad I couldn’t even try it, I just left and I was forested to pay.

I love this place I had to submit my review! This place is amazing, It is clean and they serve only fresh food, staff were friendly, and provided great service. The staff knew the menu and were able to offer helpful suggestions. The Cohen Restaurant is one of my favorite Glatt Kosher/​Mediterranean restaurant in Downtown L.A. I ordered Barley Soup and Soltani combination of barg & koobideh kabob off the menu and everything is cooked to perfection. Definitely try this restaurant!
