Nice flavorful little coffee shop. Very LA with all their offerings. Got the cold brew and was gladly surprised it wasn’t a watered down coffee. The seating area is really nice and open. Great place to study and get some work done. There is plenty of parking on site as well!

It’s always a treat when you get a latte with a beautiful design on it as you sit in the outdoor patio. I should have taken a picture of it but I guess I will next time. The bacon cheddar jalapeño scone was awesome. I will definitely be back to try more goodies.

I can only review the chai. Soo good! Probably the best chai I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too gritty but you could taste the yummy flavors! It’s just pricey for $ 4.50 for a tiny cup. Service wasn’t the best either. So I wish I could be a regular but would be broke, so I’m glad I don’t live close by.

Excellent coffee shop. I just moved but prior to moving this was my go to place. Granted I almost always just got their cold brew coffee but was never disappointed. All of their employees were always incredibly friendly and nice, a couple of them remembered what I would order and ask me how my day was going… nice to support a place that has that friendly vibe!

The coffee here is nothing special, it’s just another boutique coffee shop that charges your whole wallet to get a coffee. I rather go to Starbucks, at least I’ll get something with more flavor and know it’s going to be good.

Not much of a coffee head but you must try the cubano! I know this doesn’t help, sorry.

Five stars for the outdoor patio, four stars for the coffee and prices — overall really good! I’m a big fan of all the little joints along Fairfax, and Coffee Commissary is no exception. Is it a little overpriced and hipster-pretentious? Sure, but what coffee spot in LA isn’t these days? The staff is really friendly and they move quickly. And honestly if I’m going to overpay for tiny coffee, I’d rather do it at a place like this than a Starbucks. The décor is very warehouse modern, with very little in the place beyond just the coffee and a small display cabinet of pastries.(The spinach and feta quiche is really good btw, even though it’s kind of weird that it’s served cold…). The real star of Coffee Commissary is the patio though — with plenty of seating and a guaranteed cute puppy sighting, it’s a great place to chat with friends and people watch in WeHo!

This place has a nice vibe and it’s easy to find plus it’s got plenty of parking in an onsite underground garage whose entrance is located right on Waring as soon as you turn off from Fairfax. Both the inside and outside of the place have a spare and clean style and it’s reflected on the menu board as well. One price for one type of coffee or tea drink that comes in just one size. I don’t know why but I was reminded of that bit from the movie UHF, Spatula City. «We sell spatulas… and that’s all!» Anyway, nothing like the cluttered menu board, counter and shelves at Starbucks selling CD’s mugs t-shirts and all sorts of other things. My only gripe was the service. The dudes working there probably didn’t get that call back and weren’t exactly putting out a warm and friendly vibe. When I went to ask where the restroom was, all I got was a grunt and a thumb gesturing to the back. Seems they were too cool for school or thought they were hot shit on a silver platter. Guess what? David Bowie passed away the other day and he was hot shit on a silver platter. These guys? Cold diarrhea in a dixie cup.

I’ve driven past this place several times and always tell myself that I should stop in. Finally a friend took me here. It’s her favorite place to go to for coffee. We walked past several places to go to this place. First off, the vegan banana nut muffin was surprisingly really good. I would go back to this place just for that. My mom makes the best typically but this blew me away. Yes, sorry mom. It wasn’t dry nor was it too sweet. We went in the early afternoon and literally there were only 5 baked goods left. But glad I had the last muffin. Two reasons why I’m leaving 4 stars is because 1.) only a few baked good left. 2.) Dirty Chai wasn’t hot which was disappointing because it was a cold day. I’ve had better dirty chai in the past as well. I was going to leave this place 3 stars but the muffin deserved another star. Customer service was Eh okay. They weren’t as welcoming as most coffee places that I’ve been to. I liked the look but even on a cold day I wanted to sit outside. The energy inside didn’t seem right. That’s unusual for me but just didn’t feel as welcoming. Oh and pets allowed in the outdoor patio.

I’m always down to check out a new coffee shop so I had to hit this one up to get some work done. It’s got a pretty nice vibe and it’s a decent size. The only downside is my phone didn’t get service at the back of the place! I dunno if it was just a bad day for ATT or if it’s just my phone in particular, but that’s the only reason I am not 4 starring this place.

Great location, free parking in the back, free wifi that worked great for us, great coffee… and even better is when Free Range food truck is there. The baked goods here are pretty good. I tried the chocolate chip cookie and it was damn good. Worth it! The cinnamon bun thingy(I can’t remember what it’s called) was also delightful. Only down side is they only have one size for a latte.

Great atmosphere, friendly baristas and in a very convenient location. I got the Cubano which is coffee, milk, cinnamon, and simple syrup. Very similar to Miel and it was so delicious! I’m a sucker for latte art as well and their coffee’s are seriously a masterpiece!

If you’re looking for a nice study/get work done type of spot, you’ve found it. There are seats inside their long and narrow café, although I wouldn’t say in abundance so you might not find that seat with an outlet for your laptop as you hoped. The further inside you look for seating it does get darker as their lighting isn’t the brightest, if that type of stuff bothers you. There’s a lot of natural sunlight that comes thru their tall windows in the front of the café though. There’s also tables outside for a good catch up with friends. Their latte was good but nothing outstanding. You can find street parking in residential area close by.

Okay you know what’s seriously really always good here that NOONE can refute??? CHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIE. Totally worth the money. And calories. Seriously. I am not a cool coffee drinker. I come here for dat chocolate chip cookie. Big as your face, and full of chocolate chunks. Crispy on the outside edges, soft and chewier in the middle. You know what is better than that chocolate chip cookie? THEIRGERMANCHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIE. FILLEDWITHCHOPPEDPECANSANDSHREDDEDCOCONUT. … !!! Oh my flippin gooooooodnesssss.

Cute outdoor ambiance, but the coffee is quite watery here. I was not a huge fan of the coffee, but then again I am no coffee connoisseur. The outdoor seating is great to get some work done and just enjoy people watching. The wifi isn’t great here. I kept having issues to login to the wifi. I didn’t get to try any pastries but wasn’t a huge fan of their coffee.

This place has a food truck that is directly in front of the café. How cool is that? When I went, Free Range was serving food. I got their breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. Let me tell you; their creation of honey sriracha is amazing! Okay now enough about Free Range, onto Coffee Commissary. My 1st experience here was not the best. Reason being, the wifi went out and I came here with a coworker, to work… We tried our air cards and even that was not connecting properly to the VPN. The manager told us that they were trying to fix the wifi. We decided to just wait as we chowed down our delicious meal purchased from Free Range food truck and ordered a beverage each. My friend/coworker, got the macchiato and I ordered the cubano. So, I am not a huge coffee snob; I love the smell of coffee, taste of coffee, coffee ice cream, but I can’t tell you much about coffee as I can about teas or wine. I am also super sensitive to caffeine so I drink it when I am really tired, super early in the day, or when I want to be a little rebellious with my body. I read so many great things about the cubano and really wanted to try it. ITWASREALLYGOOD! The taste of cinnamon really is not empowering and adds the perfect flavor and combination to their coffee. After my friend and I devoured our breakfast biskit sandwiches, we enjoyed our coffees, but were still disappointed that the wifi was not fixed and we could not get any internet access at all through our air cards. We had to unfortunately leave and cut our stay short, to find another café with better wifi access(see review for Adante café). I really like this area, it’s very hipster and the café is cute. Other than the WIFI issue, I think this café is genius with the combination of food truck meets café. I enjoyed it :) thank you, I’ll be back!

Expensive but effective… aka strong. I got a redeye(coffee + espresso shot). The process is long, but it’s supposed to take time for a good drip right? Pastries looked fresh, but I didn’t try anything. They did have a GF chocolate cake but it was right in between gluten-containing pastries… so if you have an allergy don’t count on food options here.

My review below still stands, though I have to add one note– the music is INSANELY loud most of the time. I think it’s a strategy to get people to not camp with their laptops. But holy shit, it’s loud. Otherwise, everything else is the same: great coffee, cute atmosphere, nice baristas that even smile once in a while.

I really love Coffee Commissary — it’s a perfect place to meet up with friends, study, or just hang out and relax. When I was in school, this was my go-to place to be productive — I can recall working on a lot of papers and group projects at this place. What keeps me coming back comes down to four factors: 1) STRONG and good quality coffee(I’ve ordered quite a few iced coffees and lattes and I’ve never had a bad experience with their drinks. Their baristas truly know their craft! Oh, and did i mention strong? After a few sips, I was really energized and typing away at rapid fire!) 2) Simple menu(easy to make a decision when you already have a lot on your mind) 3) Customer Service(all of the baristas have been really friendly and helpful) 4) Parking Garage(I can save my quarters for when I really need to feed the meter at other places)

I love this place. It was very quiet and relaxing when I went. They have a decent amount of indoor seating and a large shared outdoor patio. They make a fantastic cappuccino, rivaling any other coffee house in LA. Their fresh baked german chocolate chip cookies are amazing. They are gooey, rich, and moist. Service is courteous and friendly and they have a newspaper rack, which was pretty cool. How vintage of them. I came here after having a cappuccino at Go Get Em Tiger, and it was just refreshing to not have to fight through a horde of hipsters lollygagging around the bar to get my order in. This is my top spot for coffee or espresso in this area.
